Serial Experiments Lain. A fantastic anime and my all time favorite that had the misfortune of being released alongside Evangelion and Cowboy Bebop. Some of the stuff in the Wired and Lain's computer room would look fantastic if remade.
Cory in the House doesn't need a remaster! Its animation is still more fluid and realistic than ANY other anime, maybe excluding some scenes in Drake & Josh.
Deer Virax you might be right. But just like the HD remaster of Ai karrii set a new milestone in storytelling, Kori in za Hauzu can bring down the wall for animation.
This is a personal answer, but...The Slayers. It's the first anime that I saw and got hooked on (not counting shows like Pokemon, Yugioh, and DBZ that I didn't yet realize were in any way distinct from the other cartoons I watched). Not to mention that it manages to be both funny and dramatic when the time calls for it. My nostalgia goggles are on full power for this one, but I think it deserves something.
You don't need the cels to to remaster it, do you really think they would reshoot the entire show? then it would look different due to the lighting. No they only need the original film print.
I LOVE Slayers. I bought the VHS when I was a teen, then rebought them on DVD (and spent WAY too much money) when DVD became standard. (I think I just betrayed my age.) It's the one anime I've watched so many times I could probably reenact the first 3 seasons by heart. (Revolution and Evolution were okay, but if you read the books, you'd see how it went all wrong plot-wise. They would have been better off just animating the AquaKnight arc)
I got the Neon Genesis Evangelion Blu-Ray box a couple years ago and holy hell, is it fantastic! The only thing that saddens me is that the original film for episode 16 was lost so they decided to do a crappy, and I mean really crappy upscale, I'm sure the DVD looks better. Plus everything has lossless legacy and renewal/revival audio plus it includes all extras that were ever released plus more unreleased. I got mine from CDJapan which translated to around $350 with shipping then but now the US dollar isn't worth as much anymore, compared to Yen anyways, plus my sets were after they fixed some of the content on the disc 9 Blu-Ray and disc 8 on Archives DVD, I definitely got mine at the perfect time.
DamianV8501 Same, except I got mine off of amazon.jp. I had to rip the content into mkvs and basically add and re time the subtitles from my DVD set to the episodes. Looks amazing though and totally worth the work.
I've been working on some custom encodes and I took the stephric subtitles (might've spelt that wrong) with some changes and I used nlmeans strong to denoise and its amazing how well it worked. If your PC is strong enough I recommend trying that out with Handbrake. Settings I use are nlmeans and strong no tune, high 4.1 or 5.0 with animation tune and I'd recommend quality 16 or better and keeping the audio tracks lossless. The program recommends 22 to 20 for HD sources but I'd definitely go 16 to 14 with animation tune at least (lower number = higher quality on that scale)
It was kinda interesting how it worked out, all subtitles lined up perfectly with the first chapter of each episode besides the first episode per disc and I also combined bothe the end of Eva ones together as one, I'll definitely have to post that, it was pretty easy to do once I offset the time perfectly
Aw fuck, I love neon genesis. This anime spoke to me. I say it's one of the greatest anime of all time and it's definitely worth watching. Edit: That is if you haven't watched it. Also, when you watch the show, make sure to watch the movie. Please.
Evangelion is too damn legendary. It cannot be forgotten and is destined to go worldwide blue-ray someday and shape the next generations to come with the greatest audiovisual mindfuck that's humanly possible.
I've probably seen the End of Evangelion ten times at this point yet it never fails to amaze me just as much as when I first laid eyes on it. Same with the rest of the series.
Well Evangelion finally got a Blu-ray release, problem is you have to get the collectors edition just to watch the original ADV Films dub. Otherwise it's Netflix dialogue only.
Definitely Robotech (or at least just Super Dimension Fortress Macross) and Kare Kano. Robotech was so iconic and actually has a really flipping awesome cast and themes, and actually some really nice action sequences that I'd looove to see in HD. Kare Kano you already know is a legend, and I wanna see all those flowery ass backgrounds that we KNOW somebody poured their heart into.
Rejoice, for GKids is going to release Neon Genesis Evangelion TV + End of Evangelion on Blu-Ray in the US sometime in 2021. For better or worse, it'll almost certainly be the new English dub and translations that were created and approved by Studio khara and streamed on Netflix, not the old ADV/Manga Ent. versions.
A couple I'd like to see: Kimagure Orange Road: the love triangle so definitive, every following romantic comedy had to go the Harem route instead of just a love triangle. 80s classic with fantastic direction, good animation for its era, top-notch soundtrack and excellent voice acting. License lost in the US since 2004. Urusei Yatsura: its *THE* comedy anime. EVERYTHING references it, its the foundation point for every high school anime, every harem, every magical girlfriend. At least 60% of all seasonal shows can be traced back to this anime, and almost no one has seen it any more
You just mentioned the two I was gonna mention. Not super far into either, but really like them both! I want to own both, but it probably won't happen. Maison Ikkoku, too!
I just want a re-release of Kodocha. Only half the show was brought to the states, with an incomplete audio track. Look it up, it is interesting story. Kodocha is a great anime about life issues from bullying, love, adoption, poverty, divorce, and loss. It is an anime felt real, and I want to see the complete package, not the incomplete collection we got.
Proper here meaning "complete collection in box sets rather than dozens of individual DVD's with as much content on each as a VHS tape". All of Takahashi's other works have received proper releases and it's absurd that a character as well known as Lum from such an influential creator is falling into obscurity like this.
And people never wanna believe me when I say anime is a highly sought collectible. XP But it's times like this I'm glad I own Eva on dvd (Platinum Edition) and the movies, but Funimation did a Cowboy Bebop anniversary collection with the most expensive being $550 to preorder. MAYBE Sentai could make a deal of some sort to just make a box set for America only, cause I would love to own OG Eva on bluray (with the unaltered footage and the remastered footage) and especially End of Eva.
As far as I'm aware, Monster isnt on Blu-Ray, so that's one that needs to happen asap. And even if it is on Blu-Ray, I know *for sure* that the show is basically gone in the west and costs too much to get the whole show online in english.
I really want a Tenchi Universe remaster. Idk if it might exist already, but if it doesn't, it needs to be! It was the first anime I ever watched after having gotten aware of what anime is.
I don't really think it should get a remake, but a great little known older anime is Nodame Cantabile. It's one of my favorite anime of all time and is the leading factor in me learning piano and getting into classical music, and I had already watched Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso.
There's a film called Princess Arete directed by Sunao Katabuchi(Black Lagoon and In This Corner of the World), just like Mahoromatic it was also one of the last Animes to be painted on cels. And that could with a Blu-Ray release in NA, it looks amazing, instead of using acrylics like usual, they painted them with drybrush, and it gives the characters this very dense look.
I have the Eva blue rays, they're soo good. Thank god I know Japanese so I can enjoy it in its crispy greatness, although some shit is complicated in that.
The first anime you mentioned looks really interesting and I seen the second anime you mentioned awhile back but on UA-cam lol in bad quality but the story was pretty good and The Irresponsible Captain Tylor looks like it has pretty animation quality for the time it was made from the clip you showed.I also 100% agree with you on Neon Genesis Evangelion needs a blu-ray release I still can’t believe we don’t have one yet in America.
Mahoromatic is great, funny, good action, likeable characters, neked bewbs, everything that made 80s and 90s anime great. The only downside is the Gainax ending. I'd suggest googleing gainax ending but you'll just get spoilers on various gainax TV show so I'll just say Gainax has a history of confusing, and or soul crushingly depressing endings (Mahoromatic falling DEEPLY into the soul crushingly depressing category.)
ahhhhh I fucking love neon genesis evangelion it needs to stay alive for the many years to come so our childrens children can see it so they can see how deep and amazing this anime is, it can help them in many ways with stuff like depression and self worth.
All of the Project A-ko movies. The backgrounds and fright scenes alone should be a good enough reason. Although the music and the characters, as well as the physical comedy are great too.
Waynimations I would really recommend watching the entirety of the series (only if you want to of course) And yeah I love Eva's versions of fly me to the moon too :)
Waynimations If you do decide to then here's the order if you don't already know. The original NGE series (there are two ways to watch this) First way- go up to episode 24 and watch the movie "End of Evangelion" Second way- watch the entire 26 episodes and then go to the movie Watch the End of Evangelion movie (true ending to the series) Then watch the the rebuild movies in number order Death and Rebirth is recap so you can skip it.
Just as I am losing the will to keep up with seasonal anime. Jeff warms my heart with a SUPER DOSE of classic anime; then breaks it with the unavailability of Evangelion. Next week he'll do a video on the ED of Haruhi; then make me sit through endless eight again.
I actually managed to get the original two movies for NGE in LA for $25, and I have all four 3-in-1 volumes of the original manga. But the actual show would still be very much appreciated...
God damnit Geoff I finish the first episode of Mahoro and I get a countdown to how many days she has left to live. This anime will literally peel my eyes out of my body by the end of it.
I think Gakuen Alice. It was so heart warming in the beginning, and the further in the manga you got the more dark it was. The anime only captured the beginning where it was a fun shoujo supernatural comedy. The manga made me cry when I was younger ;-;. The story was unique for its time and will continue to be one of my old favorites.
Little late here, but could you explain what exactly they fucked about Eva? I already know about the apparently weird-as-hell re-dub (and that they cut out Fly Me To The Moon, these uncultured swines), but is there anything else, any visual cuts or messed up upscaling/remastering? I don't have Netflix.
@@TheSchokodragon Studio khara created the new translations and supervised the dubbing for Netflix's Evangelion; anyone who doesn't like the differences from the old versions should blame khara, not Netflix. Fly Me to the Moon wasn't included because Netflix was going for worldwide accessibility, and global music rights were too expensive.
I bought my Evangelion box set for $100 from Best Buy when it first came out, back in the days where the only way to see anime was to pay $100 to see if you even liked it. Trigun was like $30 for 2 episodes... $190 seems like a reasonable price for that box-set now, haha! Gotta let these young whipper-snappers know what its like to WANT anime.
I've always wanted a reamke or the s-cry-ed series there's potential there and I always dream that in my perfect mindscape it gets picked up by araki or atlus mostly atlus. It got me and some friends so invested we'rd doing a series rewrite (cause that plot is a mess) which is why I say it has potential.
- Slayers - Shamanic Princess (at least a GOOD DVD release with a GOOD sub) - Galaxy Express 999 (though it is already on Crunchy Roll) I am pretty sure many digitally coloured animus were produced at a resolution above 480 NTSC.
Slayers has BD remasters of the OVAs and movies in Japan, but afaik the film stock for the three 90s TV series was lost, so no remastering is possible. Shamanic Princess did get a DVD re-release in 2013, although I don't know if they updated the subs. GE999 TV got BDs in Japan, but they're upscaled from the analog masters, not rescanned from film stock. Sure, many digitally colo(u)red anime were produced at >480p, but not until around 2006-07. And even then, it was a gradual climb, as seen with 2009-10's Fullmetal Alchemist series being 540p. Most early/mid-00s digipaint shows were done in SD resolutions, some at even *less* than 480p. The DVDs for certain titles like Vandread, SaiKano, and Zaion ~ i wish you were here present a 16:9 image in a 4:3 letterbox (i.e. if you play them on a widescreen TV, you'll have black bars on all 4 sides), meaning that they were effectively made in 360p.
Thought about Evangelion: Recently, FLCL Progressive was released for us Western folks, dub only, because we get it first and if it were only subtitled then Japanese folks could just reverse import/use a VPN for it and pay the subtitles no mind. So, in a similar vein... maybe to cut down on the possible reverse importing, if a hypothetical US blu ray was released with only an English dub (the original ADV dub or a redub, whatever), then Gainax *might* be willing to let it go over here since Japanese consumers wouldn't be able to import it as easily? Or, well, would, but find little use in doing so. I mean, a lot of people probably wouldn't like that, but it'd be better than nothing.
no... the dub is not good... objectively the translations, especially in EOE, are terrible to the point that shinji comes off as a villlan in his most heroic moment. there are some good Va's involved, but the production on that was a sham...
I have the funimaiton blu ray limited release of Serial Experiments Lain and I love it so much. Also, I would kill for a blu ray release of Memories. Memories is possibly the most impressive piece of traditional cell animation I have ever seen ever. And the Magnetic Rose part of Memories? Honestly, thats my favorite bit of Satoshi Kon work ever. Its just so good!
ONE ANIME IT NEEDS A BLU RAY RELEASE, THAT IS Trigun. In Japan it didn't do well, BUT Here in America it is Famous. Japan doesn't batter releasing a blu ray here in America. other option they don't batter restoring it because it bomb in japan , would be awesome funimation get the original negatives and remastered them.
Mahoromatic was already released on Blu-Ray in Japan some years ago, but the Blu Ray was (likely?) sourced from a videotape master or from a 16mm or 35mm prints or negatives. Also, the opening credits of the series are stretched, because the credits was designed for an aspect ratio of 1:33:1 in mind, and thus, Gainax placed the intro credits on the squeezed aspect ratio, instead of placing it in a safe area. The only problem that Evangelion have on all of the home video releases (since Renewal/Platinum Collection) is that the 16th episode (an episode were it is cited as a psychological shift in the series) had their original 16mm negatives/prints were lost inside a laboratory (either it was in Tokyo Laboratory or in IMAGICA) due to a flood or fire or how it was mishandled, which is why we only have two sources for the 16th episode, either a 35mm interpositive or an original broadcast master tape in SD (which it was a telecine of the original 16mm master), which both of them are considered as upscales (and they are both notorious for having artifacts and loss of detail).
I loved this video so much! I got super excited because I grew up watching a lot of old animes dubbed, and I wish I could watch them again now. here's a list of some of the animes I wish would get a blu-ray remaster: 1. all of the world masterpiece theater. shows like ( Romeo's blue skies, Tico of the seven seas, and future boy Conan...etc) 2. Chibi Maruko Chan ( this show was so funny and wholesome and I loved it so much!) 3. Ginga Sengoku Gun'yūden Rai 4. Ironfist Chinmi 5. Virtua Fighter movies: 1. Rail of the star. 2. Ushiro no Shoumen Daare
4th lol. hey i love your vids pls do a vid on steins;gate zero. Also thankyou for reminding me that 'now and then here and there' existed i loved that, and you originally recomended it to me.
I think an important thing to note is that it is important for the original Japanese studio to do the remastering. We’ve seen what happens when a licensor tries to use the generations-removed from the original footage that the studio gives them. It’s why, unless you managed to get the Dragon Boxes when they were coming out, you still can’t but a competent release of DB-frickin-Z. And even then the Dragon Boxes are still only SD!
But _should_ we really get high-def remasters? I mean, as much as this cel art is beautiful and detailed, it wasn't meant for window-sized 4k panels, and a lot of small imperfections were probably neglected because of nature of analog media. I mean, you may like HD remasters, but they might _not_ _necessarily_ look better.
One example is the Japanese Space Battleship Yamato blu-ray. The remaster reveals a lot of stuff that you weren't supposed to see, like glass panels sliding across each other to create the backdrop of space. It's hard to watch, despite the quality.
-Irresponsible Captain Tylor is so freaking good! -Eva is what made me a fullfledged otaku. -I need to see Love Hina again either remastered or remake!!!

that last episode was so fucking good ive waited so long for that punch to be animated lol
This was even more epic in anime than it was in manga. :D
well, this video aged well

And orphen.
tyrone has an opinion deal with it orphen and recca are dope
initial d!!!!!!
tyrone has an opinion deal with it ever herd of legend of the galactic heroes
Eva is overrated garbage
Turbo Autismo stfu kid
Serial Experiments Lain. A fantastic anime and my all time favorite that had the misfortune of being released alongside Evangelion and Cowboy Bebop. Some of the stuff in the Wired and Lain's computer room would look fantastic if remade.
Aazelion Lain has a Blu Ray remaster. Actually the first anime I bought on Blu Ray
That has had a blu-ray remaster for a while now
Initial D. It's probably a rare opinion that Now and here then and there is one of the GOATs, but agreed.
You're forgetting Cory in the House. The most fluid, lifelike animation I've seen in any anime.
Kartikey Sharma Boi
Cory in the House doesn't need a remaster! Its animation is still more fluid and realistic than ANY other anime, maybe excluding some scenes in Drake & Josh.
Deer Virax you might be right. But just like the HD remaster of Ai karrii set a new milestone in storytelling, Kori in za Hauzu can bring down the wall for animation.
it’s 2018 the joke was funny like 2 years ago cmon man let it die
Burgermaru well being the guy who points that out is even older but it doesn't look like you're pulling that plug anytime soon
Of the star trek enterprise.....geoff I think ya fluffed the line
You got me
Hur
Oh fuck he relied .... so uh u were right about Franxx. Guys we swear it a "homage" to eva
I also would love to see Trigun have a blu-ray release
True, only the movie has an actual blu-ray release.
They can't remaster Slayers tv show because they lost all the original cels.
This triggers me
That's why every release I've seen looks like crap
I don't suppose you'd be willing to share those retimed sub files for those of us that have been considering doing the same thing?
It was kinda interesting how it worked out, all subtitles lined up perfectly with the first chapter of each episode besides the first episode per disc and I also combined bothe the end of Eva ones together as one, I'll definitely have to post that, it was pretty easy to do once I offset the time perfectly
Aw fuck, I love neon genesis. This anime spoke to me. I say it's one of the greatest anime of all time and it's definitely worth watching.
Edit: That is if you haven't watched it. Also, when you watch the show, make sure to watch the movie. Please.
EoE is a fucking masterpiece.
Stanley Ongjoco ikr
Watched it on the hd remastered. It's was eyegasm.
It was announced today that Neon Genesis Evangelion is coming to Netflix in early spring!
Spring, 2020: not there anymore.
How could you forget the most classic masterpiece of them all, Boku no Pico?
Well Evangelion finally got a Blu-ray release, problem is you have to get the collectors edition just to watch the original ADV Films dub. Otherwise it's Netflix dialogue only.
I want a Berserk remaster
This is the only correct answer.
There was a Blu-Ray release in the UK last year, I thought it would of also come to NA as well.
Its already been done. Its available in Australia and the UK
now to redo 2016 and 2017 from scratch
crazyskull921 Berserk should be adapted into an HBO series (they already succeeded with Game of Thrones)
*We need an SAO reboot as an Anime.*
Just kidding.
AsianWithHat it is called alternative
Razorfloss razor nah it's called progressive
I want to see Jeff's thoughts on Progressive.
We already got that going.
Just look up SAO Abridged.
*reboot
Rejoice, for GKids is going to release Neon Genesis Evangelion TV + End of Evangelion on Blu-Ray in the US sometime in 2021. For better or worse, it'll almost certainly be the new English dub and translations that were created and approved by Studio khara and streamed on Netflix, not the old ADV/Manga Ent. versions.
A couple I'd like to see:
Kimagure Orange Road: the love triangle so definitive, every following romantic comedy had to go the Harem route instead of just a love triangle.
Maison Ikkoku, too!
add Maison ikkoku to it
And now Eva is going up on Netflix. Better start flexing those shill muscles
Trigun should just be reanimated from scratch with the same audio track.
I want Trigun: Brotherhood almost as much as my own happiness
And 3 years later, Evangelion is finally getting a blu ray release
Netflix (sees) this video
*hold my beer*
I just want a re-release of Kodocha. Only half the show was brought to the states, with an incomplete audio track. Look it up, it is interesting story. Kodocha is a great anime about life issues from bullying, love, adoption, poverty, divorce, and loss. It is an anime felt real, and I want to see the complete package, not the incomplete collection we got.
Urusei Yatsura. It's goofy and charming, nothing ground breaking but it has never gotten a proper US release.
It got a proper U.S. release. It's just insanely rare and expensive now. And definitely not HD.
Proper here meaning "complete collection in box sets rather than dozens of individual DVD's with as much content on each as a VHS tape". All of Takahashi's other works have received proper releases and it's absurd that a character as well known as Lum from such an influential creator is falling into obscurity like this.
Its is so refreshing to hear someone talk about the transfer of film to digital. and how clean it is. Great Video!
The money I'd pay for a SLAMDUNK! release state side.
100% with you on that
and remake the whole story in the manga
Seeing Kare Kano in HD would be a dream
And people never wanna believe me when I say anime is a highly sought collectible. XP But it's times like this I'm glad I own Eva on dvd (Platinum Edition) and the movies, but Funimation did a Cowboy Bebop anniversary collection with the most expensive being $550 to preorder. MAYBE Sentai could make a deal of some sort to just make a box set for America only, cause I would love to own OG Eva on bluray (with the unaltered footage and the remastered footage) and especially End of Eva.
Sentai made Legend of the Galactic Heroes $799.99 for the same reason he mentions in the video.
As far as I'm aware, Monster isnt on Blu-Ray, so that's one that needs to happen asap. And even if it is on Blu-Ray, I know *for sure* that the show is basically gone in the west and costs too much to get the whole show online in english.
GuardianSoulBlade Huh, I thought those were DVDs. Who knew.
It’s still just Australia, tho, and it’s apparently $120, so hell no
$120 for what? The whole show? That's like getting a 13-episode series for $21.08, which is pretty reasonable by anime standards.
I got you, Geoff. I, too, would like to see a remaster of Cory in The House.
I really want a Tenchi Universe remaster. Idk if it might exist already, but if it doesn't, it needs to be! It was the first anime I ever watched after having gotten aware of what anime is.
Macross needs HD remastering from SDF Macross to Macross 7. But Harmony Gold needs to lose the rights of Macross.
I don't really think it should get a remake, but a great little known older anime is Nodame Cantabile. It's one of my favorite anime of all time and is the leading factor in me learning piano and getting into classical music, and I had already watched Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso.
One anime that we REALLY need to remaster is Bubblegum Crisis/ Bubblegum Crash.
Special move: Giga Shill Break!!!!
Joshua Joestar IT IS THE SHILL THAT WILL PIERCE THE HEAVENS!!
Diesel Marcus preach, aniki
You showed Trigun for a second and that's one of my all-time favorites. I still have all the DVDs somewhere here.
At least the manga ends on a more positive note, or so I heard.
ahhhhh I fucking love neon genesis evangelion it needs to stay alive for the many years to come so our childrens children can see it so they can see how deep and amazing this anime is, it can help them in many ways with stuff like depression and self worth.
All of the Project A-ko movies. The backgrounds and fright scenes alone should be a good enough reason. Although the music and the characters, as well as the physical comedy are great too.
I have not watched any of these to completion but I would love to see these remastered
You haven't seen Evangelion?
Mediocre Editz not to completion but I do listen to their version of fly me to the moon at times Haha
Waynimations
I would really recommend watching the entirety of the series (only if you want to of course)
And yeah I love Eva's versions of fly me to the moon too :)
Waynimations
If you do decide to then here's the order if you don't already know.
The original NGE series (there are two ways to watch this)
First way- go up to episode 24 and watch the movie "End of Evangelion"
Second way- watch the entire 26 episodes and then go to the movie
Watch the End of Evangelion movie (true ending to the series)
Then watch the the rebuild movies in number order
Death and Rebirth is recap so you can skip it.
Hey Janus. What does NGE in LA stand for?
Dreadogastus F Neon Genesis evangelion and Los Angeles
Draconis Vipera Yep 👍
Thank you.
God damnit Geoff I finish the first episode of Mahoro and I get a countdown to how many days she has left to live. This anime will literally peel my eyes out of my body by the end of it.
Oh No, Geoff has *Canadian Nostalgia* Someone quick call a Doctor!!!
1. Slayers
2. Slayers Next
3. Slayers Try
4. Slayers Movies and OVAs
Higurashi definitely needs a remake
I think Gakuen Alice. It was so heart warming in the beginning, and the further in the manga you got the more dark it was. The anime only captured the beginning where it was a fun shoujo supernatural comedy. The manga made me cry when I was younger ;-;. The story was unique for its time and will continue to be one of my old favorites.
Netflix got Eva and fucked it.
I'm extremely happy to be a proud owner of the Platinum Box set of Evangelion, one of the best fuckin' consumer purchases I've ever made as a kid.
I'm so glad my uncle left me his evangelion set... yes I'm lucky
Satoshi Kon movies. I only have Paprika on Blu ray and the others are the only dvds in my collection aside from evangelion
...Ahahahaha! When you said "The odds of this hitting bluray in the states are pretty... (Cut to commercial and on screen it says...) EPIC!"
- Slayers
- Shamanic Princess (at least a GOOD DVD release with a GOOD sub)
- Galaxy Express 999 (though it is already on Crunchy Roll)
I am pretty sure many digitally coloured animus were produced at a resolution above 480 NTSC.
Thought about Evangelion:
Recently, FLCL Progressive was released for us Western folks, dub only, because we get it first and if it were only subtitled then Japanese folks could just reverse import/use a VPN for it and pay the subtitles no mind.
Yeah but what about people who don't want watch that dub?
no... the dub is not good... objectively the translations, especially in EOE, are terrible to the point that shinji comes off as a villlan in his most heroic moment. there are some good Va's involved, but the production on that was a sham...
Well, I wouldn't have known. I DID mention the idea of a redub. So if they did that, and made it good, maybe that'd work out.
That clip of Memories.
Check out Record of Lodoss War some time. Great fantasy anime.
It would be really nice to have a remaster of Texhnolyze
Wolf's Rain needs a blu-ray release. Now.
Wolf's Rain got a Blu-Ray release in February. Of 2017:
www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/releases.php?id=32515
Thanks for the heads up. That's a must have for me.
I would like to see dominion tank police and new dominion tank police. Really like the story and how funny it was along with video girl ai
As someone who has a (smaller) youtube channel that covers some anime content, with regard to your pledge:
You have my sword.
Holy shit is Eva - Platinum edition is that much??!
Ben Grogan yes and I cannot get any legal version of it
Mushishi - super smooth animation and all the great detail in the backgrounds.
Unfortunately, the Japanese Blu-Rays of the 2005 series were bad upscales.
One can never have too much Evangelion.
I loved this video so much!
I got super excited because I grew up watching a lot of old animes dubbed, and I wish I could watch them again now.
here's a list of some of the animes I wish would get a blu-ray remaster:
1. all of the world masterpiece theater. shows like ( Romeo's blue skies, Tico of the seven seas, and future boy Conan...etc)
2. Chibi Maruko Chan ( this show was so funny and wholesome and I loved it so much!)
3. Ginga Sengoku Gun'yūden Rai
4. Ironfist Chinmi
5. Virtua Fighter
movies:
1. Rail of the star.
2. Ushiro no Shoumen Daare
4th lol. hey i love your vids pls do a vid on steins;gate zero. Also thankyou for reminding me that 'now and then here and there' existed i loved that, and you originally recomended it to me.
I'm pretty sure he's just waiting until he's seen more of the show(Steins;Gate 0) before he makes a video on it.
Gainax's stranglehold on Evangelion makes me *really* glad a good friend of mine bought me the Eva boxed set so many years ago.
Thanks, George.
Kino no tabi
Boogiepop phantom
Bubblegum crisis tokyo 2040
I asked about Bubblegum crisis tokyo 2040 on the Gunsmith Cats Kickstarter, and they said Funimation own the rights, so you could try asking them.
Boku no pico
I'd love to see the entire Dirty Pair franchise getting remastered. It's my favorite 80s time capsule ever.
Not really that old of an Anime but we need a blu ray of Gurren Lagann!
It has blu ray
Maybe I should have said that I`m liveing in Germany and that we don`t have a Gurren blu ray
Even if you did live in the US, the Blu-Ray's overly expensive. It's a damn shame as it's definitely one of my favorite shows by Gainax.
I just want Trigun to get a Blu-Ray release, it was one of my favorite anime from my childhood and I'd love to see it again in HD.
Does Lupin need a remaster or not?
It already has
Trigun seriously needs to come to Blu-Ray!
A lot of old anime remasters do have those black side bars
One example is the Japanese Space Battleship Yamato blu-ray. The remaster reveals a lot of stuff that you weren't supposed to see, like glass panels sliding across each other to create the backdrop of space. It's hard to watch, despite the quality.
Дмитрий М On other hand it's reveals stuff that weren't clear seen or you missed remasters for the most are a good thing.
-Irresponsible Captain Tylor is so freaking good!
-Eva is what made me a fullfledged otaku.
-I need to see Love Hina again either remastered or remake!!!
$99.99 = 90 bucks
As expected of the shill master
I dont know how many people have heard of it, but Nightwalker the midnight detective was like my most favourite anime.
