One of the best videos I watched in a time. Finding minecraft fun again is pretty hard, but it seems like you managed to do that, so congrats on that achievement (not advancement). For me, fun in minecraft comes from a fact that I have something to do. It can be anything, from building a nuclear reactor in my stoneblock world to playing some MCCI, booting up a LAN world with my sibling or fooling around with creative. That would be my answer, if you would ask me.
I’m glad you made this video. Over the past few weeks I find myself typing in “Minecraft motivation” trying to find motivation or just a way to have fun in Minecraft. Feeling lost in Minecraft is something that I’ve learned that everyone goes through. Honestly my hardest problem is just booting up the game and creating a goal to work towards. But everyone has their own struggles and has fun in their own ways
One thing I’ve found is you have to play the game. What I mean by that is you can just get caught in a grind or challenge. Just take it slow and enjoy the little things.
@@VU57 it’s really hard for me to grind tho. I will just turn on the game and then just sit there in my phone really high. Idk what gives me true motivation but I’m trying to figure it out
Psych bach here. I thought the question was interesting, so I wanna give my take. Firstly, what makes Minecraft fun? What makes things fun in general? What even is "fun"? Fortunately, that's what we can answer. You find something fun if it makes you feel positive emotions. What makes an activity fun, then? If that activity makes you feel positive emotions, then it's fun. Even rage games fall under this, because the victory at the end is the fun part. What about Minecraft? Well, a major consistency throughout all people's answers was just achieving goals. See, in Minecraft, you have the freedom to set whatever goals you want, and getting towards the goal is what feels fun. Emotion -> Drive / Motivation -> Goal. To have fun, you need to make yourself feel good feelings. What makes you feel good feelings? As a biological species, goals are incredibly fun for us. As a social species, socialising is also incredibly fun. Our species evolved intelligence to outsmart our competitors, so puzzles are also really fun, the satisfaction of working something out; this can also be considered a goal. The point I'm trying to get at here is just, do whatever you want because you can. Set yourself some goals, and keep changing it. Hop on a server and fool around with some friends or strangers. Do things you've never done before. Do whatever, man. You have the freedom. The choice is yours.
9:47 I totally agree that single player is almost as fun as multiplayer. I haven’t played multiplayer in a while because most of my friends have gotten bored of Minecraft
This video made me realize that I had found my way of fun in Minecraft a long time ago. The way I like to play is to be able to carelessly wander the world, collecting items I like and to see the many biomes and terrain features. I don’t need a big base, or an elaborate storage system. All I need is a bed to rest in, and an endless world to explore in. I didn’t realize it until I watched this.
this is such a unique and innovative idea. really felt new, like a breathe of fresh air in this community. genuinely made me smile watching it, awesome job
I agree, Minecraft is way better with friends. It’s so lonely playing by yourself, and you get more accomplished. Recovering from defeat is also great. Me and my friend made a server that wasn’t whitelisted (we didn’t know how to whitelist) and we made a little hole with foxes and stuff. 2 people or so joined and killed the foxes (i think some other pets too, and this was on the first day of playing it i think). We were crushed, but another person joined, and they were SOOOOO kind. They helped us get back on track and we even went exploring together (we found an amethyst geode!). I don’t remember the person’s name but they were super kind, forever grateful. Now today we have a full base and explore a bunch (a bit rich too.) Amazing video!
I feel when it comes to making minecraft fun it boils down to one key aspect Replayability It doesn't really matter what you do in the game, as long as its replayable. Having fun for 1 day doing something is cool, however its not actually 'making minecraft fun' its allowing you to have fun. Its a mix between what you as a person likes doing in minecraft, and what can you do consistently which prohibits you from being bored. For me this is a mix of things, I like to say im a creative person, playing in survival worlds just doesnt make me have fun, regardless of what I do. The main reason is attention span, you want to have the attention span to match what you want to do, and so survival worlds dont cut it. Even if I want to make a mega build in survival, it's about getting there which makes it not fun. I like doing creative ideas, for example, command block based, building map based etc. something which requires alot of thought behind it. im going to go into alot of different things which can be fun for players depending on what they like. The first is obviously, other players. Playing alongside friends is much more fun than playing alone for most people. It allows for the most diverse experience every time which helps with replayability. However, some people don't like playing with many other players as it could be too overwhelming (for example, public servers like Hypixel or MCC Island). Minigame servers are very fun for a while as they provide many many different games to play which offer new playstyles, however after a while become a cycle or repetitive which makes you have less fun and more play it like it's a chore. Another factor is like ive said before, survival players. Alot of players enjoy playing minecraft alone on a survival world, often times challenging themself in ways like hardcore mode or certain challenges. This is very fun for a while, as it gives you a goal to try and reach while adding difficulty. Difficulty is what some people enjoy to spice up gameplay and push the game from a chill, creative experience to something more challenging. While some survival players start hardcore worlds to see how long they last, others give themself a goal or challenge to do on hardcore. Another way to play on survival worlds is speedrunning. Alot of people love speedrunning as it is challenging, and revolves around other players without actually having to play with them. It adds competition which competition can be fun and engaging. Speedrunning also takes a while to get good at, so it is a mix of difficulty alongside practice and repeatedly trying over and over to get better which some people would argue to be fun and replayable. One of my personal favourite ways is to implement chaos and randomization. Minecraft chaos/randomizers have been around for a little bit now (mainly seen from captainsparklez by most people) and offer a complete different way of playing, by randomizing the game and every time you play, is different. This adds the theme of replayability to the maximum level which is always different, to what happens during the game or what you manage to get. whether it is randomized block drops, fishing loot or anything, it always results in different problems to overcome which also adds challenge alongside fun. Chaos mods bring difficulty aswell as keeping attention span by having something new to look at and overcome every 30 seconds or so which can also be very fun. The last way I will talk about survival worlds is by going into the world of modded minecraft. Modded Minecraft is very intimidating to many, as there is so much to look at or do that it become complicated and looks really confusing. However when you actually dip your feet in the pool of modded, it's not as bad as it sounds. The main push factor from modded minecraft is the sheer quantity of mods, all for every version of minecraft available. But the main way to go around it is by doing what YOU want. The joy of modded is that there is something for everyone regardless. There is light mods which just add on to the vanilla experience like minimaps or small tweaks, aswell as there being completely different content mods that add dimensions, bosses, thousands of items, mechanics and more. Some of these can be very fun to discover and learn which adds replayability. However this replayability can be overriden by confusion. If there is TOO much to do at one time, it leads to confusion and not knowing what is next, which is when you should decide exactly how you play. For example, Im a huge pixelmon fan. I love playing Pixelmon as it is completely different to the normal gameloop of minecraft and allows you to play alongside other players, with a completely new concept while also still being in the world of minecraft. Some people like challenge in RLCraft however some like an overload in new stuff in mods like Vault Hunters or All The Mods. Going away from survival worlds, some people enjoy specific parts of minecraft. Building, redstone, pvp, adventuring or more which all add specific ways to play and each are completely different. Redstoners like overcoming problems with the minecraft wiring system in which allows them to be as creative as possible, making doors, traps, vehicles, robots or whatever, redstone can have limitless possibilities which you can show to people and amaze. Some players enjoy PVP, which is the combat side of competitiveness, being better than other players is what some people see as fun and engaging, constantly improving their skillset in how to use an axe, sword or bow and being the best they can at these weapons. This goes alongside playing on public servers and testing skills against others in games like skywars, og games like hunger games or some KitPVP servers which skip all the grind parts and allows you to just fight. Some people also like command blocks. the ability to take minecraft commands and create practically whatever with them, in vanilla minecraft, allows for endless possibility. People like Fundy or Mysticat you see make things in vanilla minecraft, and bring friends to try them out after and it gives so much fun to mix playing with friends, with creativity. Does this actually equate to making minecraft fun? well that depends on what you actually intend to do and if you want to bring it long term. I feel like im beginning to waffle a little bit now so I'm gonna end this comment here, my conclusion is if you want to have fun in minecraft 1. find what is YOUR calling to minecraft, whether its modded, survival worlds, creativity, multiplayer, randomization, new experiences or anything. pick that 2. Find a way to make it replayable. Set different goals every time you play, add a challenge, try something new in the game 3. Give yourself as much stuff to do without making it overcomplicated. Simplicity is sometimes key for some people, but others requires things to pay attention to for a longer period of time. If you play on servers, change the game you play, play a game you haven't played as much, try going for silly challenges in that game. The last and final thing i will say, is make content. So many of you will play the game and have fun ideas, and the way to have fun is to share it. Make some sort of content or videos on minecraft and It will give you a reason to continue playing. That is what i find fun. I play on servers, give myself challenges and play the game differently, all for the same goal of uploading a fun video. Bring friends to do it with you, and just have fun. The game has infinite possibilities, it is just about what you want to do that makes it replayable.
For me, it’s that what you can achieve, when you achieve something like finally getting a godset, or when you build your first good build, speedrunning the game, beating the game in hardcore, getting good at pvp, so many th8ng to do that feel great when you do it, complete it
9:20 this was memorable because this happened to me years ago with my neighbors playing minecraft he just placed a command block and it kept summoning ender dragons 💀
This video brought me back to remembering all the fun times that me and my friends had when we would just mess around and just genuinely have fun :) glad you found out what makes Minecraft fun and hopefully some other people find out how you can make it fun also :)
Awesome video! But honestly I don't understand why VR games always shrink down your vision so much. It looks so hard to do anything, and you have to look at your arm just to see how much HP you have left.😅
What makes minecraft fun actually.. : to my perspective its.. the way you play and the other people differs around you and you just feel like nostalgic, i experienced this as a kid, me and my friends used to play minecraft together with our pc and xbox 360's but, as i grow up, i suddenly feel something, when i play servers like hypixel, i felt like... my friends was still there... i remembered when i always hear the calm and peaceful music of minecraft and i always come back to older versions just to listen to them.. i love this video and i just kept silent the whole way thru just reminding myself from the start. i almost cried, with my drops of tears, this was a really good story, parrot you deserve high reputation on this story dude, you changed my whole life
haha the waterfall at the end is the same as rekraps water slide, or the waterfall you flew past. What an amazing video parrot. Thank you so much for bringing light to my day. i lost my hardcore world today, and i couldn't be asked playing again, but now i want to play and do something fun. thanks.
Minecraft inspires me.. My parents said if i get 40K followers They'd buy me a professional camera for recording..begging u guys , literally Begging...
I really enjoyed this video! I think we all go through this at some point. Everything is like instant gratification these days and I think we forget or just don't want to slow down a little and just enjoy things for what they are. I think The difference between a lot of players and myself is that I am 57 years old and I remember how limited video games used to be. That's the thing I love most about this game is that you can play however you like. I have been playing since it was out of beta besides a couple of breaks. Sometimes you watch UA-cam vids and see all the complicated builds and farms and think, "Why don't I do that?". The thing that makes me get bored is when I build too many things that make it easier to play. I have a great seed going since the last update was final and the only farm I have is a skelly spawner for XP. When I'm harvesting veggies or animals, or collecting honey from my bees it gives me time to think about things. Anyway, after all this time I think I am actually going to fight the dragon. I've been to the End many times but I've never fought it. It's really giving me something to look forward to. Good luck and I will be checking out your videos.
This video is an inspiration to me. It makes me want to play Minecraft right this second. Parrot you have made yet another masterpiece and I hope you never stop ❤
9:40 he's right, single player is so boring sometimes I'm sad that I'm alone in a world but with friends it's way more fun but not if it's only 3 friends like me 😢😢😢
This guy needs to collaborate with youtube or minecraft. A master piece and a work of art for this video. A block game, and he showed how we can get emotional through this game that is losing it's popularity. Maybe some games are suppose to be made for being fun and I shouldn't stress from minecraft dying. The part is that we enjoyed it and had the best memories. Thanks for the Message Parrot! I'll waiting for your next upload :) Peace
The water slide one was perfect. I haven’t treated the game like my playground in so many years. So many people, including myself are just interested in getting the best gear, making the best farms, and beating the game’s predetermined because we don’t dare to waste time on tasks that don’t objectively benefit our game. But the game is fun when we do that tasks with meaning that we determine, which is what a sandbox game is made for. Thank you for giving me this existential revelation minecraft bird
Part of what makes the game fun for me is finding new things and seeing what the world makes. In my most recent game I found a big, spherical opening in a mountain with a whole bunch of moss growing in the sunlight. I found a cavern that's half flooded with a deep pool of water and half huge open space. Most recently I found this mountain with Cherry woods in a ring all around the top of a huge sinkhole in the middle. The adventure of finding these cool, unique world formations is really fun to me, even when I play alone.
This was a good video and was cool how many people you collab with. The end message basically explains it. Minecraft is a game that allows unlimited possibilities, so it gives more opportunities for anyone to have fun.
What makes minecraft fun for me is everything like playing with your friends, exploring, surprises, parkour, pvp, having a team, being happy on ur success, trying over and over and over again when you keep dying, and especially having fun
This video showed (to me) what most people knew about what makes Minecraft so fun, while some ohers may not. Thanks Parrot, for reminding us all what makes Minecraft, Minecraft. 💜 😊
I have found a way to have fun again. I have been getting mods, testing them, seeing what works, what doesn't, making my own small mods, setting up servers for my siblings to play on, and most of all, doing new things by setting goals to acomplish. Experiments, goals, failure, success. Recently I have succeeded in helping my siblings set up servers, modding the game, and just fixing issues in general. Ran into several issues such as crashing, failing to load, mod incompatibilities, not using JDK 17 when launching the server, and more. I even managed to do more than what I had in mind. I managed to create a file that would do all the commands in terminal automatically when run instead of having to manually type in all the commands.
Fun is risk, and playing with others, it is looking back at what you have made, it is relaxing alone, it’s finding something new for the first time, it shifts for everyone but we all can agree that dying with 7 diamonds on you sucks
Man this made me feel pumped. I feel like I've been scrolling through my feed asking this same question. Unsure I've turned back to Minecraft, yet I'm bored amongst my small group of mc player friends, And singleplayers too lonely. But I'm subscribeing from this video cuz I have ideas on how I can enjoy my time.
Did you get the secret message at the end?

Idk what gives me true motivation but I’m trying to figure it out
i honestly cant stop appreciating how well parot makes his videos... this vibes you get are just sooo enjoyable
Props to parrot for not having a blob Minecraft skin
Edit: HOLY CRAP, MOM IM FAMOUS
Atleast it almost look a bit goofy
Yeah the blob skins look so crappy
bet the guy who made the first blob skin just wanted an original design and now it's the most unoriginal thing in existence
Yes parrot has very nice shins

9:47 I totally agree that single player is almost as fun as multiplayer. I haven’t played multiplayer in a while because most of my friends have gotten bored of Minecraft
Yeah i had only 1 friend that played Minecraft (he is still my friend) but idk what happened that now he doesn't have Minecraft
I just have no friends
This video made me realize that I had found my way of fun in Minecraft a long time ago. The way I like to play is to be able to carelessly wander the world, collecting items I like and to see the many biomes and terrain features. I don’t need a big base, or an elaborate storage system. All I need is a bed to rest in, and an endless world to explore in. I didn’t realize it until I watched this.
this is such a unique and innovative idea. really felt new, like a breathe of fresh air in this community. genuinely made me smile watching it, awesome job
This was honestly amazing, especially you being in vr. It’s nice to see people having genuine fun, losing, and regaining hope after both.
Every Parrot video always brings back some sort of Minecraft nostalgia. You've come so far and have so much more to explore!

@@Fire_Axus it’s a opinion
I feel when it comes to making minecraft fun it boils down to one key aspect
Replayability
It doesn't really matter what you do in the game, as long as its replayable.
I feel like im beginning to waffle a little bit now so I'm gonna end this comment here, my conclusion is if you want to have fun in minecraft
1. find what is YOUR calling to minecraft, whether its modded, survival worlds, creativity, multiplayer, randomization, new experiences or anything. pick that
2. Find a way to make it replayable. Set different goals every time you play, add a challenge, try something new in the game
The game has infinite possibilities, it is just about what you want to do that makes it replayable.
nah chill broski I ain't reading all that
For me, it’s that what you can achieve, when you achieve something like finally getting a godset, or when you build your first good build, speedrunning the game, beating the game in hardcore, getting good at pvp, so many th8ng to do that feel great when you do it, complete it
Another example is when you become known, respected somewhat for your skills in a server, be it factions or smp
This was honestly so heartwarming and a good story I quit minecraft months ago and now maybe I should hop on minecraft again ty Parrot:D

Your videos are the most beautifully written an thought out ones than anyone I’ve ever seen. They are like life lessons. Keep it up 😊
I really enjoyed this video!
Parrot you have made yet another masterpiece and I hope you never stop ❤

i kept putting this video to the side and forgetting because ive been busy but this has to be one of if not the best minecraft video

The story telling and editing that takes place in Parrot’s videos is absolutely insane! These videos just keep getting better!

These videos keep getting better and better! The storytelling is insane!
3:53 yes, yes you are
This was a good video and was cool how many people you collab with.

How does a block game turn into this? The amount of work done to make this is legendary. Unbelievable 😍

This guy never fails to amaze me
