    Your a brave man pouring all that water in! I glued a section of ballast yesterday and it is amazing how diluted PVA will find ways to flow out, namely down the tiny holes where my dropper cables go.

      DaveClass47 Oh yes I forgot about that! It finds all your dropper wires eventually. Right pain for me as it can drip onto the track on the bottom board.

    The canal scene is coming along brilliantly, you have a knack for creating very realistic scenes that look "just right. " Colours and textures are spot on; you must have everything worked out in your head beforehand and then the vision just takes shape!
    Looking forward to further updates!

    Yes looking good, I like the cameos it adds just a little more to the scene, it should dry but bear in mind that the temperature has dropped quit a bit over the coming days.
    But I cant wait to see the completed scene.
    Happy Modelling,

    Nice progress Richard! Really like the look of the river bank and that shopping trolley is brilliant! Really like the little ladder and where you've added it as well, all the small touches like that and the junk and so on really set the scene nicely. Looking forward to seeing how that realistic water is going to turn out and can fully understand your being nervous about trying it :) - Sim

    Awesome looking scene so far and as you said well worth making the trolley. Mine took about 4-5 days to dry too but I think the cold temps. in my garage at the time had a bit to do with that, and I also had the problem with the PVA clouding it up (even when that had been dry for weeks) but got around that. Looking forward to seeing the completed effect. Cheers, Dan

    Hi Richard, another great 'work in progress' video, you're really getting your teeth into it (... you could call it a root canal!!!). Anyway, I like the idea of the shopping trolley and the various items of rubbish- it's a nice addition to an already realistic layout.

UA-cam. Thanks for your videos Richard. From Russia with love.

    The scene looks amazing Richard! Is the little details that do it. I really hope you don't get a foggy effect, because you pour it kind of thick. I'll keep my fingers cross! because you have done a real great job. Can wait to see what you do to finish it. I like how you narrate every detail of the scene. Cheers. RT

    Great video Richard like the shopping trolley looks superb,I used realist water effects to add my reeds and such looks like a white past but does the trick.
    This will be a superb scene mate one in which you will be proud of like I am with my river and canal scenes.
    Look forward to the next video I waited weeks for my realistic water to go off but that was in winter time it needs heat of a warm room to work best.
    Cheers Kev

    I'm going to assume it's a relatively disused canal due to the trolley location, but it still looks amazing. I'm pretty sure I will consider something with realistic water when my layout starts getting done. I mean I've needed an excuse for a viaduct.

    Can you move the shopping cart still? My thought is that it is very much in the way of the tow path come docking area for a canalboat that might come along. If not then the scene still looks fine. Council ought to keep the canal a little cleaner though! Great work. Robert

  • @GrahamFoulston

    No turning back now Richard, the deed is done and the water is in, with the way you have done then I can't see any reason why there should be any nasty reactions occurring. The water will take a while to clear, their 24 hour drying time is a little misleading in that it depends on the depth and the temperature. The small pond on my village green dried in a couple of days but that was much more shallow than the lake and also done at a warmer temperature. When I think about it, I don't think I could have done anything more wrong than I did when doing the lake LOL. Well done mate, it's going to look terrific when it's all dry............Graham

    • @EverardJunction
      @EverardJunction  10 років тому

      Graham Foulston Thanks Graham. The 24 hour period is a bit optimistic of them! It took about 4 days to completely dry in the end. It has dried clear so i'm very happy. It doesn't appear to have reacted with anything either.

    • @GrahamFoulston
      @GrahamFoulston 10 років тому

      EverardJunction Than you're safe Richard, if it has now dried clear then it won't react with anything - well done buddy, you can now relax!! ………..Graham

  • @MotoCrazy66
    @MotoCrazy66 10 років тому

    Hello sir. Just a thought, might there be a visible line showing between different applications? May not be a problem, although if you look at it from the end, it may show. A solution (for the solution, chuckle!) may be to let it almost dry or gel and then apply some more, but that may mean standing next to it for days on end! Probably not possible.

    • @EverardJunction
      @EverardJunction  10 років тому +1

      MotoCrazy66 There may be a line at the end when I remove the temp piece of wood. The instructions say its best poured in thin layers so hopefully it will work. I've now added a second layer.

    I prefer the canal to the motorway its a better scene to look at and better to model as you have to think about it more where as a motorway its paint the tarmac put barriers and signs and lights in then the cars that's it.
