My latest highlight video project that I've added to the portfolio. It's in a short film style, but done within 5min.
Daley is by far one of the SICKEST strikers in MMA and boasts a ridiculous amount of KO power. I've been following him since Cage Rage, so this is my celebration of his induction into the UFC.

Short of the unofficial fan-made UFC 114 Shogun vs Machida-trailer, this is most professional, well written highlight reel I've ever seen. Massive kudos, holmes - highly anticipating more videos from you.

Sick highlight. I watch it a few times a week. That being said, Most of the soundtrack is from Snatch the movie. Mirwais' "Disco Science" Massive Attack's "Angel" and "f***in' in the Bushes" by Oasis (the last song someone mentioned...also what I use as a walk out most of the time.) The other main song was Omen by Prodigy (I'm the best all the way from England)

The "rabbit chase" scene you're referring to is actually "Disco Science" :-)
I used that for the beginning intro.

Anderson Silva, Shogun Rua, and Lyoto Machida each have black belts in BJJ. Chuck Liddel, Frankie Edgar and Shane Carwin each have backgrounds in wrestling
@riotforce1 what i think he is saying is that there are great fighters out there who are primarily stand up strikers who have a background in wrestling or bjj. yet they do not relay stricktly on those things, while wrestling is excelent to have at your disposal, some fighters sticktly rely on there wrestling to take their opponent down and lay on them for 15 minutes.. however, every round and fight starts standing up. every fighter has more than one weapon.
the fight against Koscheck will end one of two ways and both depend on Kos. Josh plays it smart and puts on a wrestling clinic while trying to turn Daley's face into a paste, or he gets cocky in the standup and a lucky fan in the sixth row takes home his mouth piece.

Obviously, but how often are these skills utilized in comparison to the striking skills? A ratio of what, 10:2, at best?
I DO agree that taking submissions and wrestling more seriously will make you a more dangerous striker. However, saying that strikers aren't successful is simply false.
Daley definitely should be taking cues from prime Crocop, Shogun and Liddell to make his striking more fearsome.
I agree...overall striking in MMA isn't to the level of straight Muay Thai, and leagues behind K1, but it's a biased comparison with the takedowns factored in.
And from what I've seen of Daley's Muay Thai fights, he has technique, but it looks to be against inferior competition. Hard to tell with people I haven't seen fight.

@KahL1One yea but they also have great take down defence, which keeps the fight on their feet. Daley was taken down time after time with no attempt to defend the take down or any real attempt to hip escape to get back on his feet...
@pavellcc i agree and disagree, he didnt kick the shit out of him, do you recall daley dropping him? it was just a slugfest and daley fell first, daley didnt get dropped by diaz, he actually fell. then diaz pounced, im not saying it was wrong, just that daley wasnt a walkover
has everyone forgotten that kos loves to try and stand with people
daley knows kos can take him down and im sure he'll attack with a sense of urgency

What are you talking about?
Junior Dos Santos, Shane Carwin, Anderson Silva, Mauricio Shogun, Lyoto Machida, Chuck Liddell, Rampage, Frankie Edgar, the list goes on and on. Strikers do great in the UFC, it's refusing to accept wrestling as a back up discipline that creates the flaws.

I do agree that muay thai fighters obviously have better stand up than MMA fighters. But MMA fighters have to look out for the take down. They have to use a completely different stance, and while it may not look as visually pleasing as a boxer or thai fighter, I don't think they have as sloppy of technique as people make out.
