- This bass has no reason to be this good... And under 800 bucks... I have no idea how they are doing it.

i just love the way sire do the single-coil,parallel,and series switching,SIRE JUST ALL AROUND FUNKY MAN.......THEY DO IT RIGHT
Where is that in the video ?
@@dominikkavur5373 It's not. I think they're referring to the Sire M5/M7 basses. It's not a feature on any other Sire basses.
@@TheDinosaur82 still makes no sense though
This is a Sire bass, not a Music Man bass. No way! This bass is a return to Thomann for me. It a wrong sound.
Yeeeeessssss! This is the review that I was waiting for!! Big fan of the channel
Yeah, I was also waiting for this bass! So I ordered a Z7-5 at Thomann but return this bass. It’s not for me and just play again my MM.
Just a note about a fretless version. That's really cool that they have that option. Fretless Stingrays are VERY hard to find.
Thanks for the vid. I agree with much of what you've said, but I have a different experience with the knobs and the pots - I disliked the knobs so much that I ordered replacements the day I got the bass. The stock knobs are so lightweight and felt really cheap to me. Also I found that the detents felt different on each pot - the bass one is super clicky and defined, the blend one is so vague I can blow right past it without too much effort. The other two are somewhere between in terms of feel, but all different. It's not awful, and I'm a lot happier now that I've changed the knobs to heavier, more substantial ones - I'm going to file this under an "idosyncrasy" of my bass in particular. But ultimately I am nitpicking - I'm very happy with my Z7 - gigged it for the first time this weekend past and it was a beast!
This sounds amazing, i bought a M7 in 2017 when they had the cheap knobs and I ordered the newer heavier knobs to change, but i will always sing the Marcus Miller pre amp praises, extremely versatile
I love what you do man!
The multitude of sounds are amazing
GREAT VIDEO! I love that bass so much, but there isn't even a color that I like..Mostly the Z3 sparkle black is amazing
Yea its pretty nice I wish it was gloss black with maple or roasted maple
They're reasonably enough priced to take somewhere for a re-spray. You could do it yourself if you know what you're doing. I heard auto paint is a nice finish.
Ok I just looked on Sweetwater and seen they released a Fretless version of the Z7!!!!! They literally gave us what we all asked for! Faqking A sire!! I’m beyond stoked for this new release!
Preordered that bass!
I love the concept of this bass! The changes they have done to the StingRay design, the pickup configuration, the fact that it's active/passive and that it has a passive tone blend. And I love the looks as well and I trust in Sire's craftsmanship. But honestly I didn't really like what I heard most of the time. Probably because you really have to be very careful with the EQ, especially with its parametric mids. It's easy to mess up the sound with it so you really have to learn it. Maybe the wood choice also contributes to its aggressiveness, i. e. maybe the alder/rosewood versions are a bit more forgiving. I understand that this type of EQ is Sire's thing, but I think a 2-band EQ specifically voiced for these pickups, and maybe an additional coil-split option for the bridge pickup would have been more practical. But still, for the price it's amazing!
I agree with you totally. It sounds a lot like my old V9 in slap mode and it's too aggressive. Love the concept but the tone wasn't working for me.
I'm super impressed by the passive mode. It's still very bright and punchy.
Yea I think the J pup sounds great passive! It has its own thing going not trying too o be a actual P sound
Nails the Joe Dart tone at a fraction of the price. I want one
Nice video Bully, I may have to see what you braggen 'bout. That sounds very nice with so many options!
thank you for taking the time to make this thorough vid. New Sub
Sweet bass Bully!!
Damn! That one is flexible! Hardly a "bad" sound. Maybe some sounds not as preferred, but none of them seemed bad.
Mine came in also. Very nice
They absolutely have to give us a fretless version of the Z series 🙏🙏 the moment I seen these I loved them, it just seems like a wait period for them right now or I’d have one
Awesome video! Great to see you get lost in the bass too!
AWHH YOU JAMMIN MAN AS USUAL,YOU ARE RIGHT MAN FOR THE PRICE THIS IS SICK MAN,I LIKE 6ER'S AND 7'S,BUT,THIS HAVE ME THINKING REAL HARD MAN,JUST BECAUSE OF THE BEAUTY OF IT,I MAY SAND THE BODY AND STAIN IT A HAIR DARKER FOR A BETTER MATCH....
It reminds me a bit of my ATKs, but with a little more aggression. I may have to get the fretless version.
I love Sire's J pickups. They have a tiny bit of hum in certain situations, but never very much.
Great review. I actually bought a Squier sonic precision bass in that lime green color because of your review. I have a Sterling music man also but this could be a great 5 string addition
I plan to buy one. I have a couple Sire’s.
Sound pretty good to me. Great review.
Excellent review. Great tones from this bass! I wish there was a fretless version. On a side note, I had a bass that had a active/passive switch and it didn't work without a battery installed.
@@wren23_bass-synths Sweetwater has it fretless right now. No natural finish at the moment. But they have sunburst and burgundy mist
Put a thin piece of foam.on the back of the battery box or you may run into problems with the preamp going out due to the batteries not making contact
Great job bro
Great review
Im in a really really confused (lack of better word) condition
I want something super modern to play ccm and pop and hiphop genre
I really like my V5 and now i want something active and with double humbucker/soapbar
So i really want sire m2 since im familiar eith sire already..
But
I heard a lot of amazing stuffs from cort and i heard they even use better quality for the hardwares too, and that cort space 5 headless feels like the "total modern looks"
Im like why not go all in modern with headless while also trying new brand
but i really interested in m2 as well
Nice bass, i have two Sire basses a 5 string, and a 4 string both give me what to hear. Nice video
Kidd, what kind of rig are you playing out of for your gigs and your videos?
Great demoo
The battery compartment on the new Sires is messed up. I have a V8 and P8 and the leads weren't connecting on both of them when I changed the batteries. I had one of them replaced and the replacement was also messed up. The tech at Guitar Center was able to fix it but it's really poor quality. I love Sire basses. I've had 9 of them but I hate the new battery compartment
Do you own a music man Stingray?
A sterling one
I am most definitely going to purchase me a sire bass question what are you using to go direct
for recording on your videos and what is the name of the wireless system you are using?
A very comprehensive review!!! Sire is NO JOKE!!!!!!! The features, craftsmanship and playability for the money are impossible to beat!!! Andrew is a BEAST but as far as setting all of the knobs to 10, nope!
Does the passive only mode work with no batteries?
Yes
@@BullyThaKidd that’s awesome
@@BullyThaKidd appreciate the response man
I think their website said the neck pickup is hum cancelling
Nice demo, thanks! Have you tried the Z3?
Not yet!
Just went to sweet water. Sire has a fret less version
I get the quality and features have been going up with each version of the sire basses but so has the price...
It sounds a little tinny
Great review. For the million dollar question, If you see the Z7 and a Music Man next to one another for sale, with money not being an object, which would you take???
so why do you still need the million dollar?😊
@@kish6085 WAT!!!!
When does it drop?? I've been waiting since the spring? 😫😫😫
It's out now.
is their a site, where i can purchase sire m7 electronics, to put in a 7
where can i get sire m5/m7 pre-amp
the neck pickup sounds awful.
This is a Music Man wannabe bass. I don’t like the sound of this eq. This bass eq is the same like a Jazz Bass copy. But….its a nice bass.
Growly Bass😊like it👍👎👍👎🔥
All set to 10 = neutral? Ok but, you won't have YOUR sound. Guess that is why have knobs, for the variety.
Doesn’t sound like stingray
Just as well it's not a Stingray then! ;)
Stealing my Faux-dera joke! For shame. Lol
You i said it too
I've just received a Z7 this afternoon and took it out playing at a jam tonight..........It's fekin Awesome! If you're into the Stingray sound, just buy one, no excuses! Customers were noticing a different sound (than Fender), and praising it. I'm about 9 hours in now and I'm convinced it's my new no1.
Love your videos and I have been looking forward to this one! Great review and I absolutely nerded out when you started to play the bassline from Come Down at 8:50!
Can’t wait to see the f10*
I tried three of these in a row and they all had faulty stacked pots. I got a refund and moved on. It's a shame as my V7 was 100% fine straight out of the box a few years back.
@@jermainelong1843 shoot wish I coulda changed the pots for u lol
@@FlankingYT Lol.
Thanks for the demo🙏 I have the bass on the video , and man that’s the best bass in the world for the money !👏❤️( I got 4 different Sire basses 👏👍)
