For example add molasses during the grinder process. I'm looking for a grinder that chop the corn straw, also wheat straw chop, mix forages like alfalfa choped, wheat straw and corn straw mixing with grain
There all kinds of great hay grinders on the market. Used ones in good shape are dime a dozen. My experience with liquid supplements has shown it to only benefit the seller. Dry feed and minerals and a few pails of offspec grain when it is really cold is all a cow or a backgrounder calf needs. Buying hay is often cheaper than raising it yourself.
I have been trying for some time to invent my own hay grinder. The hay waste of bails is logicle .I have farmed my whole life. There is a lot you are missing here. What state are you in? Have you never heard of silage or haylage?Fermented is healthier for the gut .And yes it would be nice to have small chopped dry hay,it is needed.I would be very careful as to the kind of supliments you may be choosing to put on this dry hay .Its bad enough with all the harm Monsanto has done to us farmers.
