- In this video, I get to shoot with a 40+ year old lens, the Nikon 180mm f2.8 ED AI-S on my Nikon F3 with Kodak Tri-X 400. There was tons of fog this morning and a bit of rain. (Of, course when I leave my protective cover for my Nikon F3). If you enjoy the video leave a like and SUBSCRIBE to the channel!

I just took my 180mm AI-S out for a photoshoot on my Nikon D200. Love this combo! Love the lens. It is build like a tank at shooting @ F4 this lens is supper sharp with lots of detail.
Totally right at F4 it's amazingly sharp. I can't wait to shoot more with this. Thanks for watching!
London fog by the seaside. Nice theme! Like the way this lens has that centered focal point (with unimportant background kinda hazy). Good job on this'un. Super pics.
Thank you for watching!
Great stuff, loving the multiple exposure
Thank you! Going to try a lot more of those on the channel.
The thumbnail photo is my favorite. Great job!
Definitely the thumbnail for a reason. 😆 thank you for watching.
Photos look great! I definitely want to shoot with a model on a foggy day for sure.
Thanks, dude. We had that huge stretch of foggy days in January that I had to take advantage of at least one.
Lovely photos. I've been eye'ing the 180mm for some time now. I really want to get it.
Thank you. Yeah, it took a while for me to pull the trigger, but I REALLY wanted a longer focal length lens in my film kit. Thanks for watching.
180mm in my experience is outdoor portrait lens but not the environmental portrait lens . It compresses background and concentrate on main subject . In this situation i prefer shorter than 105mm focal length. Shorter focal length gives more athmosphere feeling to photograph in these situationss.
Good luck.
Mohammad 👍
I had both this and the AF-D. I sold the AF-D.
I'm really loving the one I currently own. Any specific reason for selling the AF-D?
@@DCaldwellPhotography I grew up with manual and it wasn't so quick anyhow. I also like the lower elements and groups look a little better too.
