The $25 option to have Crutchfield connect all the wiring harnesses for you is WELL worth it!! Also, the one part that was wrong in the instructions is the part that tells you how to orient the ribbon cable for the HVAC functions. The ribbon cable actually had to be installed opposite of how the instructions said. Now it all works perfectly.
Not installation, they will connect the harness components together- you still have to connect harness to the car harness points and move the climate control elements to the new bezels
Thanks for the video. You were spot on regarding the ribbons and the directions from Crutchfield being absolutely wrong on that part. Unfortunately I watched your video for the first half and missed your last few minutes where you address this. Had to take the dash kit out and take it apart as well and switch the ribbons. I went with the Kenwood Excelon DMX809S. Got the radio, datalink module, harness and the kit for $891. Pretty expensive and I hope it is worth it. This was by far the hardest install I have ever done. My backup camera is not working so calling Crutchfield now to figure that out. It shows the grids and then goes to a blue screen??
I have a 2019 XLT w the 4” screen. The sync3 from oemintelletech was well worth the price. Only took me about an hour to install and it looks great. Wanted to keep it all oem.
If you call Crutchfield they will provide recommendations based on your truck’s year and options installed. I have a 2017 XL and did the same install as the video, except I used a Kenwood receiver: Kenwood Excelon DMX809S $500 iDatalink KIT-FTR1 Dash and Wiring Kit $192 iDatalink Maestro RR interface module. $150 iDatalink ACC-HU-KEN2 specific harness $10 SirusXM SXV300V1 Tuner. $70
I did same install except for I used a Kenwood DMX809S instead of JVC with all components from Crutchfield for $1000. Year and options on your truck may dictate some changes.

Could have installed for 25.00 ? How is that ?

Well done on the install. 100% improvement over the 4 incher.

Can you share product model name or link
If you call Crutchfield they will provide recommendations based on your truck’s year and options installed. I have a 2017 XL and did the same install as the video, except I used a Kenwood receiver:
Kenwood Excelon DMX809S $500
iDatalink KIT-FTR1 Dash and Wiring Kit $192
iDatalink Maestro RR interface module. $150
iDatalink ACC-HU-KEN2 specific harness $10
SirusXM SXV300V1 Tuner. $70
Can take it to get remote start programmed in. Mine works by hitting lock 2 times
Added an aftermarket remote start and love it. Hit lock, unlock, and lock. Happy to not have a separate fob.
How much did it all cost?

What year is yours, mine is f350 2020
I wish that you didn’t have to lose the volume knob.
What year is the truck? Crutchfield says they don’t recommend replacing the radio on a 2022 truck.
I would like to know this as well
17-19
His is identical to my 2019, so he's in that range.
Where did you buy the new bezel?
Thank you for the video
Total cost??
👍
Total cost??
I did same install on my 2017 F250, except I used a Kenwood receiver instead of JVC, for $1000 from Crutchfield.
