That's where it all fell apart. S1 to 4,one of the greatest shows ever. S5 and 6 had problems but still good overall. S7 was a mixed bag but still set up things nice for a final season. S8 ep 1&2 both solid had good character building throughout and set up for the big battle. Then ep3 started the downfall and from there its gotten worse and worse.

@@ericroe5484 well, GRRM specifically has said he wrote the Game of Throne series with the philosophy that main characters would die and they wouldn't have plot armor, because he was sick of fantasy stories that protected the main characters just because they were the main characters.
@@ericroe5484 LOTR was around 18 years ago, TV and cinema both evolved and more and more are now concerned about basic flaws, specially GOT whereas every mistake is shown to have consequences.

She did put her own children, her own dragons *in chains* because one of them roasted a single child.
She also crucified and burned *countless* people. I repeat the point that you refer to -- she was always like that. Things also change as the plot moves forward and things happen to the characters. That's how stories work. She's a tragic figure. You missed years of consistent, thorough development and foreshadowing and fell for a Harry vs Voldemort red herring. Character development must make sense, it's not enough for a writer to say "Tyrion is suddenly stupid and Dany suddenly likes to roast children".

Literally, anything would have worked as a trigger for Dany in that moment: if they had kept Rhaegal and killed him in THIS episode, that would have been the perfect trigger.

Everybody's nitpicking ultimately small details about the series, and of course there's shit we don't like (Cersei and Jaime dying like that? c'mon), but jesus christ, it seems like people (ie Joe and whoever those other guys are) came into this season ready to bash it. I've been watching with zero expectations, and I've really enjoyed it.

- Drogon's Flying Speed increaed 50%, Evasion Increase 50%, Attack Power 20%
- Euron's fleet nerfed, Reloading speed of scorpion decreased by 70%. Invincible Euron Bug Fixed. Invisible fleet Bug fixed.
- King's landing's wall's defense reduced From 10000 to 5000.
- Golden Company's army now only 500 men instead of 1000. No update yet for Hard Mode mission Elephants.

TBH, he's probably the best monarch in the series at this point. He was a decently fair person, ruled over a time of prosperity, united the major houses underneath him, kept the peace, gave the Night's Watch at least a show of respect, and was already making preparations to nip the Danaerys problem in the bud. He was a terrible husband and father, but he did a decent job as king.

Robert fulfilled his function as head of state and had the last word on major decisions. At other times, he trusted his advisors to do what they thought was best as they knew more about these things than him. Yeah, the wheels would have come off it eventually, but that was more due to Littlefinger's manipulation and sabotage than to Robert. Heck, the whole show is due to the combined plots of Littlefinger and Varys.
I'm being partially facestious here. I'm not arguing that Robert was an amazing king. I'm pointing out that, somehow, he was the best king since the show started. Compare Robert to Joffrey (sadistic), Tommen (ineffectual), Cersei (egomaniacal), and Dany (Mad Queen)...he's probably the one you want in charge.

Tyrion has also spent his entire life relying on quick wit and intelligence to get him out of dangerous situations as his body couldn't help him.

With all the bullshit that has happened this season, the one thing that annoys me the most is how they butchered Tyrion. This started in earlier seasons but holy fuck, this is one of the greatest characters in television history played by a brilliant actor and they fucking ruin him. Why the hell is he suddenly so stupid? Why doesn't he see that Daenerys is becoming a problem? Why is he so loyal to her? Why does he believe there's humanity left in Cersei? Why does he rat out his best friend Varys when he knows full well that Varys is right? Nothing he does makes sense anymore. Aggravating.

Hero It’s bad writing. Her turn was as sudden and unbelievable as anakin’s in episode 3. The could have built up to her turn but they didn’t. Bad writing
Hero So many people use your argument but it’s just wrong. Yes they showed that she had tendencies to lean towards being mad but through the show she was learning, through her friends, that it was better to be merciful than to rule over the ashes. She was slowly getting better at wanting to be different than her ancestors and always suppressed desires to do crazy things. She killed a lot of people yes, but they were all her enemies and those that were suppressing innocents. Her whole life up to this point has revolves around freeing innocents and helping them get away from tyrants. She was ruthless but not cruel to those undeserving. Now in just a couple of episodes she has thrown all of that away and become worse than the mad king ever was. And worse, it came after she had won and achieved everything she had been fighting for since the show started. She won and then decided it would be fun to just kill everyone.... absolute lazy writing and in contrast to years of character growth.

Hero Through stoping her, all of her advisors have been teaching her how to be merciful to the point to where she stops herself on her own. In season 7 she even says she will not burn Kings landing because she didn’t want to be the queen of the ashes. No one told her to say this, it was because she had been taught that being merciful is better than killing those you would be ruling. It’s objectively bad writing and people like you who defend D&D will eventually realize how bad it actually is

and I don't think it relates with age, at least I've never read that. Dragon fire is on another level though, hence why it melted Harrenhal towers which was the biggest and most protected castle in Westeros. Arya mentioned in one episode when she and Gendry were prisoners in Harrenhal, he said something like "what can melt stones?" and she responded with "dragon fire"

Episode 5 would’ve been so more effective if they had rhaegal killed during the siege of King’s Landing, giving a more reasonable why Danny who go mad, and if they needed something more interesting in episode 4 since a dragon doesn’t die then focus on the politics with Varys.

Episodes 1 and 2 should have been combined, the replacement episode 2 should have been the Dothraki trying to ambush and deal big damage to the army of the dead only for it to backfire and achieve the same result as that retarded charge, episode 3 goes exactly the same, just cut the dumb plot armor and replace the character deaths at different points in the episode, and show Jon seeing Arya behind the dragon and distracting it so she gets to Bran. Make episode 4 pure character dialogue, no random surprise deaths, Episode 5 starts with Dany blowing the shit outta the iron fleet then Euron hits a miracle shot on Rhaegal, then the city surrenders as previously shown, but when Dany lands on a tower near the red keep, Cersei executes Missandei in fury, thus triggering the mad queen rampage.
