That was a truly great episode! Thank you for sharing it! It was so good, when the villagers stood by Ichi, that I almost cried. Shintaro Katsu's performance in this was excellent. You could really feel his emotions. Thank you again for these episodes. :)
When he killed that Yakuza boss, it felt more gruesome than before, almost like he savored the revenge and wanted to prolong it a bit, which is very unlike Ichi. It feels like he lost a bit of his old self in that moment.
The swordman who wants to duel Ichi mear the cave was honorable man, he want to fight fairly and since ichi dont have his sword he just went away and wait again
Those of us in the warrior class are in it for life. try though we might, to put away sword and shield is a mental, spiritual, and physical impossibility. One must flow with the waters that God has put us into, His wish is for us to swim against the currents.
I often thought that Ichi should have retired to a small monastery in the forest. He could live peacefully in his old age, a young disciple bringing him rice and tea each day to discuss the sutras. 😊 Time and quiet contemplation would ease his restlessness and suffering. He would gracefully grow old, his sword cane no longer needed, replaced with a bamboo stick.🥰
He sacrificed himself hoping the villagers would change their attitude towards Ichi. It worked. They were willing to fight together with him against the yakuza, but Ichi did not want to put them in danger, so he took the fight to the yakuza instead.
@@georgecarlin2879 It was very symbolic that Ichi found the sword right during the time they buried the priest. The spirit of War God returned telling him what he should do.
He did it so that the Yakuza would believe that they had finally killed Zatoichi and thus decide to leave the village so that the villagers and Zatoichi could finally live in peace. That's why he told the villagers that he would take care of Zatoichi's problem. What he did not know is that Zatoichi had already decided to leave the village and the temple, that is why he appeared right behind him after they killed him, causing his plan to fail since that made the Yakuza realize that it was not him. real Zatoichi who died.
Sin dudas el mejor episodio hasta ahora aunque se contradice un poco con la película numero 25 de su saga. No se si esta serie continua su historia de las películas o es un reinicio de la misma.
Why woud Zatoichi stay in his village? He is so strong that he could protect his village by himself. He is worth a private police for his village. He would stay as a monk of the temple in a peace time and a private policeman in a trouble time. Parhaps his good behavior would be made up and calm down prizewinner....in the long run....
If you saw the entire series or movies you will know that he goes from town to town because they are always following him either for one reason or another, endangering the lives of all those around him. And that's exactly what they want to show you in this episode. If he stayed in one place, people who wanted his head would not stop arriving until someone finally got it, not to mention all the collateral damage that this would cause to the people of the place. Already in one of the episodes of this season they showed that he is not invincible when they shoot him in the back and he almost dies.
stupid move on his part, giving up his sword to become a priest when everyone is out to kill his freaking a**. if he isnt going to get any tail he might as well get his sword back.
If you understand what disinhibition means, and it means not having control over your emotions, thoughts, or self, you will take from the Zatoichi tales a recognition that alcohol makes you both stupid and not worth the life of one rice grain you have ever gobbled. By a mere 3 years of swilling alcohol you are diminished for life. It can be seen, even when the drinking moron has ceased.

I have never seen Ichi-san so angry! Great episode!

So very thankful for the subtitles.
Great season ending. Thanks!

Dr. Darwin Edwards Give me a chance to make things better.............we love you.
Sometimes revenge is like a cold dish served, but also it's a sweet thing, thanks for the first season, really cool 👍👍🇯🇵🇯🇵
The men who seek out Zatoichi are like the men who seek out the puzzle box in Hellraiser. Take it, its yours. It always was...
Enjoyed all of his movie.

Wow, amazing episode
Obrigado Senhores. Zatoichi está sendo uma série muito boa. Ensina coisas boas. 🇧🇷
Always a joy to watch Zatoichi, many thanks. I have most of the tv seasons but sadly only #1 with subtitles. Could you help?
The best
Hahaha.. zaitochi trying so hard to be a priest..🤣🤣
I kinda wish this had been a longer version. Maybe taken the time to shave his head, meditate and spend more time in contemplation with the old monk.
The saddest episode so far
я впервые увидел Zatoichi в ярости в хладнокровной ярости
Wow, long time no see. Brilliant

Preist and executioner great combination
Best espisod
Anyone can explain why the priest decided to get killed pretending he was Zatoichi? It didn't make any good for anyone.
He sacrificed himself hoping the villagers would change their attitude towards Ichi. It worked. They were willing to fight together with him against the yakuza, but Ichi did not want to put them in danger, so he took the fight to the yakuza instead.

Makes sense for why else would ichi be on the same road where they killed the priest...
That was cruel, in so many ways. So many alterings i wished to turn for ichi. But mud will fill him...whoa.
Thank you for the complete episode. Those partial ones were really annoying and almost made me quit watching.

#10 through #26 doesn’t give the cc option. When I push the button it doesn’t work.
It came on automatically for me.
Click on Settings. Looks like a wheel next to the CC button. Then click Subtitles and choose English.
This was from 4 months ago. At that time there wasn’t an option to turn on cc. He fixed it, now there is an option.
Thanks for stopping by.

Coincido con un comentario gran actuación como que se salió de si mismo. Al Vengar al sacerdote gran final nadie es profeta en su pueblo o tierrra

Homecoming!

34:50😢 he payed the price to high for helping a brother
Anyone here my age see the paralell between the monk burning himself alive as protest in Vietnam war..sacrifice and what this priest did???
