In the case of Spike during Season 10 Buffy shared with him her concerns about killing vampires indiscriminately, worried that there might be other vampires in the world that had the potential to be good as Spike had. But Spike reassured her and made it clear that as far as vampires went he was the exception to the rule. That in mind I can't fault Angel too much, he's just being what Darla made him. Spike is a complicated but beautiful mistake, and the one romantic interest that kept finding his way back to wherever she was. Angel and Buffy were great but that was 13 years ago. She's 30 years old now and has moved on with her life, and the guy in her life is Spike.
I liked Angel, but it was Spike who truly loved Buffy. I think Spike and Buffy belong together. In the end if he did not die, they would have found their way to each other, because what Buffy and Spike had was love. They protected each other when needed
I honestly think it’s such a double standard that the characters completely forgive Angel for all of the things Angelus did because “that wasn’t really him” yet they can’t look beyond Spike’s past. When in reality the reason they don’t see a drastic change in pre and post soul Spike is that he already had so much humanity. But honestly hats off to James Marsters for the way the character changes between season 6 and 7 it’s so subtle yet exquisite.
I agree I don't understand why people are willing to forgive Angel, but not Spike, they both did horrible things, but at least Spike sacrificed himself for Buffy and the world
They are the most beautiful love story I have ever seen. I grew up watching this show and have always loved it. Buffy and Spike (William the Bloody) are amazing together! ❤️
Spike was so sweet. So different from other vampires .He was adorable and sexy... And a truly son of bitch sometimes, but his love for Buffy was unquestionable . James Masters made a magnificent performance.
Agreed, Spike loved Buffy with and without his soul but Angel hated Buffy without his soul. Spike may be the first vamp who volunteered to get his soul. Plus Spike spent so much time fighting beside Buffy whereas Angel either comes and goes with his cryptic warnings or leaves or causes mass destruction onto the planet lol.
I think from dru had said in season 5 that spike actually feel in love with her in season 2. That's what I started thinking after seeing again cuz why would spike come back to Sunnydale 3 times. Ok the first time to in season 3 to cast a spell on dru ok, the second time in season 4 to get the ring a vamp can be invicible ok, why a 3rd time. There was nothing else in Sunnydale but buffy. So I think even if spike hadn't admitted it yet he was already in love with buffy.
@@tracycromer3418 What do you mean by the third time? In S 4 he was forced to stay because of the ship in his heart. The next time he left he got his soul back and already was in love.
Angel moved on and fell in True Love with Cordy after Buffy, Spike never loved anyone after Buffy. Plus Buffy and Spike are more compatible, they both have this darkness that souled Angel doesn't really have. They understand each other in a way Buffy and Angel could never understand each other.
I think at the beginning Buffy loved Angel more. He was her everything. As for Spike, he loved Buffy in more ways then Angel ever did. That´s why when Buffy came to love Spike they make such a good couple because their love is not just mutual BUT equal. That´s something Bangel never had.
Wow! Exactly! I've seen it I don't know how many times I hope at the end of this montage has tears streaming down my face and your comment made it worse but you are absolutely right! Oh I miss the show so much!
Buffy & Spike belonged together right from their first meeting. The had passion that neither had from any others. It's almost as though they should have been an item in real life......
Spike wanted to live. Buffy wanted to die. But. Spike died for Buffy. And Buffy lived because of Spike. Spike became everything for Buffy. Buffys true love was Spike. Spike were Buffys Eternal Flame. Love isn't Find it´s Built. This is called Love. Greatest Love Story Ever Created. SPUFFY FOR ETERNITY.
spike is unique in history. First vampire to seek the slayers instead of running away, the first vampire to want his soul back of his own free will. First vampire to have soulless feelings and the first vampire not to want to destroy the world.
He didn't really want his soul back tho he went to turn evil to stop his love for Buffy and kill her I'm pretty sure. But instead got his soul back....?!
Mindy Newell Nah. Angel was the teenager love. Spike was that toxic codependent relation you know is killing you both but just cant leave yet. When you confuse custom and some degree of affection with love. Thats definetely not the love of a grown up person.
The soul explanation sucks, it dumbs down the audience. Faith had a soul, killed a stranger by accident and it didn't bother her. She liked it even. But after sleeping with Buffy's boyfriend, torturing Wesley, and fighting Angel - Faith finally cracks and turns herself in. Andrew had a soul and even after Katrina was killed he kept on being a villain. It wasn't until he accepted responsibility for Jonathan's death did he crack and begin his redemption. Willow has a soul, tortured Warren to death and tried to kill Buffy, Dawn, Anya, and Giles. It was only until she would've been forced to kill Xander did she stop. With the soul Angelus is contained but that in no way makes Angel a good person. There was moment when he slept with Darla to try to lose his soul. He tried to return to Darla, Spike, and Dru in 1900 and made deals that altered memories without others' consents. He took a romantic interest in a 15 year old girl - today we label that a pedophile. Saying all of that, I do still think Angel is redeemable. But to say that the soul suddenly changes everything, no it makes it easier to see right and wrong but it still depends on the person and their experiences. A person can learn to live with anything if they have enough time to adjust to it, including guilt. When Spike first got his soul he was horrified at doing anything remotely wrong. Later that season he tells Buffy straight up he will kill Wood if the human tries to kill him again. In AtS S5 he tortures a WRH employee to death so as to get details behind Fred's death. But when things like almost raping a woman you love because you don't have the mental ability to understand that despite all the times Buffy said no before (in their toxic affair) that this one time she actually does mean NO, well that was a big enough event to make Spike do what was considered before unthinkable. But it wasn't the soul that made him feel that guilt and shame, Spike figured that out all on his own albeit only after it was too late. There is no difference between Spike's soul or Faith's soul or Angel's soul or Andrew's soul or Willow's soul, a soul is a soul is a soul. It makes thing easier to see right and wrong, but that doesn't mean it compels you to do the right thing. That's up to the person themselves and their own experiences. My personal opinion about Spike is that when Drusilla found William she saw something special inside him, something that made him unique. Drusilla is crazy but she isn't stupid. Ask yourselves this, what would have happened to Drusilla if a suitable caretaker hadn't been found? If Darla and Angelus would have continued to be responsible for her for years and years and years. Darla was a vicious bitch and eventually would've grown so sick of her she would have dusted Dru, that's what would have happened. On some level Drusilla knew this and I think that's why she sought out a human whom she could tell would be able to love her and take care of her even after his transformation into a vampire. When you look at it through that lens, well of course Spike would eventually be able to reach a point where he felt guilt. He would need the right motivation and right teacher but he could get there. But it has nothing to do with a soul, it has to do with him. Just like it applies to all of us. Unfortunately this line of thinking offends Angel worshipers so we're stuck with this dumbed down reasoning we hear over and over again on the show. Ugh.
It always made me feel so bad for Spike whenever everyone was mean to him, even after all the times he has helped them and was trying to be good. But they couldn’t see/didn’t want to see the good and only saw the bad. Spike isn’t perfect, and god knows he’s made lots of mistakes, but he knew that he’s done wrong, which is why he sought after his soul. I’m just also a little annoyed that Buffy couldn’t admit her feelings to Spike, which is why he didn’t believe her in the end when she said she loved him. It was too late. I know they end up in the comics, but I would’ve loved to see it on screen 😩
The truth was that Buffy did not want to admit that she was in love with Spike, but I could see that she loved him, I agree it's too bad that she did not tell Spike of her love for him until she realized that he was going to die.
As a 37 years old male from the Balkans, I will reluctantly admit that combination of Buffy, Spike and Low completely changes the narrative of a summer night and reminds me of both my late teens and incredible turmoil that came with raw emotions of young love. I just watched the entire show after 20 years and everything about it is brilliant - it's a masterful combo of smart and dumb, cheap and deep and It's easily one of best shows that I ever watched.
Spike loved and wanted Buffy with or without his soul. I think Buffy was torn about and fighting her feelings for him which is why she kept saying she didn't love him. She felt everything he was she was against so she must not love someone like him but she couldn't stay away from him, whether sexually or emotionally because she really wanted to be with him. Spike and Buffy together were magic- Passionate, dark and intense. They had a true connection that Buffy and Angel didn't have.
I love them together! I always wanted Buffy to fall in love with Spike! Spike was in love with her! I hope they do a Buddy reboot! I love to have them back together again!
Yeah, with only four issues it seems the writers are trying to rush Buffy and Angel back together, which is essentially the way "How I Met Your Mother" so its basically the comic book version of the "How I Met Your Mother" Finale: Rushed, sloppy, and unearned.
Joss has historically said Spike was better for Buffy, which makes sense as every time Buffy and Angel get together it always leads to disaster. I hope I'm wrong too, but based on the few flirty moments in the latest issue between Buffy and Angel and the fact Buffy and Spike spontaneously broke up, it seems they are going down that route. For me though, Buffy ends on the last panel of Season 11. If they continue down the route I will not even add season 12 to my comics, as Buffy's story ends perfectly with Season 11.
I can understand not wanting to read beyond Season 11, for the longest time I felt the same. But then I got hold of S12 as a gift so I decided to give ALL FOUR ISSUES a shot. If you're a fan of Buffy and Spike then reading season 12 shouldn't overly bother you. It's crap that Joss broke them up offscreen for season 12 marketing purposes but remember that Spike isn't like Angel or Riley. He's still a part of Dawn and Xander's life no matter his relationship status with Buffy and Joss did well to make that clear. And while the ending was ambiguous it had become obvious that Buffy and Spike thought their "breakup" was stupid and were only one dance away from officially getting back together. Quite simply you can't just tie up nine years of love and romance like it was a passing moment that meant nothing, and I think even Joss realized that by the end and so finally gave a Whedonverse couple a happy ending.
Buffy was more fucked up by the minute and she took all her anger n frustrations out on poor spike :( even when all he did was try to love her. She did not deserve the kind of love that he was willing to give
That is kind of the point though huh? Im always Spuffy but I do appreciate Angel's love for her...however in reality, Buffy was crushed by her relationship with Angel..so she shut down...how many times do we see people get crushed in the past from someone and then have their walls up when the next one comes? Buffy was never prepared for someone like Spike because he is so passionate and intense with the love he tries to give...Buffy never thought she deserved anyone's love so of course she would fight Spike off...he is the one she truly needed to love her because of the fact that he was the right type to..the way he loved and never gave up..doesnt mean both Angel and Captain Cardboard didnt have their reasons for breaking up with her, although Angel had a better reason than Riley. That just makes Spike the one she was meant to end up because of who he is and how he loves...that is what she truly needed.
I love Buffy & Spike moment in BTVS as in, enemies to lovers wow! 😍😍 It's amazing to Angel it's just yeah it's love but not the same one wd Spike, because it's just a puppy love that. But to Spike & Buffy it's all in there everything since they are always there for each other, specially Spike who never leaves Buffy as in same wd Buffy who always run or go to Spike. So their story is everything I love that 😍😍💖💖 Spuffy is forever 💞💞💓💓💓
After everything that happen in the bathroom, he shame himself. You can see it his face after Buffy say ask me again why i couldn't love you. He shame very deeply in that moment. He want he is soul back.
Right!. That is why I felt more for his character...cause in reality this dude would need some therapy on why he keeps chasing women who don't truly appreciate him..lol he literally only wanted to be loved and to give love...From his human life to the ensouled vamp.
I loved her and angel until he left then spike came around I fell In love with spike and I no Buffy felt something for him I wished they got together one more time awe I cried
I think spike fell for buffy in season 2. I never noticed it before until seeing buffy vampire Slayer again and in season 5 when Drusilla comes back and when guess flashback to dru left spike she tells him that she can smell buffy on him and spike tells dru that he helped buffy for her then Drusilla tells him that he may not feel it yet but Buffy's there. I think buffy really feel in love with spike also in season 4 may have been a spell that Willow casted but always heard that the only reason why would work is that she had feelings for spike and buffy did admit to Tara and angel that she love spike.
@@rachelarroyo9460 I think buffy knew she was falling in love with spike when she told Tara that she feels for spike then in season 7 she told Angel that he was think the word was in her heart and stop being jealous.
Spike changed himself because he fell in love. He fought to be good, quested and begged for his soul back. He did One Bad Thing (other than the vampirism) and came back to become a better man. Better than Angel, who the second he loses his soul becomes pure evil. Take away Spike's soul and he's still Spike, sure he'll go back to killing peope, but he'd probably only go after evil doers. If only to prove to Her that he's still good.
Buffys feelings in a nutshell 0:09, 0:19, 8:18 I don´t understand why Buffy is so mean to Spike throughout s 5. It´s almost like she only could bring herself to love him as he got his soul back although all the good he had done for her so far.
I did Twilight trailer in Buffy style and it was pretty hard because Buffy is really powerful and confident woman and Bella is....not :D Just imagine Spike or Angel be sparkling on the sun :D
Angel an't got nothing on Spike. See this is why Spike is the fucking man. The demon and the human loved her so much that the demon committed suicide to let her know...............
I really wish Spike and Buffy got together when spike became corporal again. That she'd have chosen him over Angel because he got his soul back on his own, not because of a curse. He had been a nice guy and a romantic before he had been turned. It would have been great when he and Angel looked for her if they had found her and she chose Spike.
@@AriThecraftydragon I bought the comics. I would suggest you need not bother but well you will still want to. I will not say anything in that regard. The comics have 20 or 21 seasons.
@@AriThecraftydragon in the canonical continuation of the comics, Buffy and Spike get together in Season 10 and she tells him she loves him again at the end of Season 11. Read spoilers for S12 (the last season) on wikia before deciding if you want to read it, I'm personally ok with ending my read at S11.
I remember arguing with my brother about the end of season 6 when Spike was re-souled. I argued that that is what Spike fought for, to have a soul to show her he could be better. My brother argued he wanted to be what he was before they met. William The Bloody so he could show her how evil he can be.
No offense to your bro but that logic is crap lol I always tell people why the heck would Spike go to another demon for the chip removal to give Buffy what she deserves? He literally could harm her already. They repeat it so many times in S7 that Spike went to get his soul not the chip removed yet people just forget S7 happens lol You won that argument hands down. Now I do believe that Spike did not realize what would happen once he got his soul...basically the realization that he was never good enough for her which is why he backed off and understood that if he truly loved her, he needed to let her go and show up to be whatever she needed him to be; even just a friend or to fight by her side. But he fought for the dang soul plain and simple. It's crazy how people who over analyze someone's actions who came from a troubled past like wait..so it's not possible that it literally was to get his soul? Why is that so hard for someone to believe? I see a lot of Spike hater's over analyze his actions..so basically he says he went to get his soul for her, but in truth, it has to be another reason for it...it just couldn't simply be he went and got his soul for her lol
Spike had regrets for what he almost did to Buffy. In the end you could see that she trusted Spike and even loved him, even though Spike did not believe it.
Hello everyone on UA-cam. Do you think Buffy The Vampire Slayer is so cool ? And do you think Sarah Michelle Gellar is so pretty young lady because I think she is so pretty young lady and when she kicks Vampires ass it is so cool when she does her job in Buffy The Vampire Slayer and also she is so pretty in Scooby Doo movies but I like her when she is in Buffy The Vampire Slayer cool.
Hi Stuart! I live in Austin. I'll look up where Somerset is. I'm so glad you love Buffy. And it's so interesting seeing Buffy and Spike together. How Spike turned himself around for her. And then being forgiven for his past. I said I was impressed by you because of the way you talk. One thing goes into another- it's very flowing.
Hi Angela Atwood it's Stuart. I like your message on UA-cam It is so nice to ear from you and that's cool you like Buffy The Vampire Slayer and I cry when angel live season 3 and and when spike he made me laugh all the time when see him text me back OK ok from Stuart Hyde Pilley 😎
Had to split this baby up into 2 lol but I digress Buffy breaks up with Spike- I think a lot of people kind of gloss over this part of the season. When Buffy goes to break up with Spike, Buffy is explaining to him that she can't love him and is using him so she can feel something since he is the only one that can make her feel. As hurt as Spike is deep down; that it's not love for her the same way..he doesn't care to be used by her. She tells him that it is killing her..which then you see Spike's face again......he see's that their relationship regardless of how much he wants to be with her in anyway she will have him...she is hurting cause of it...which THEN he sees her reaction and understands that their relationship is hurting her. He allows her to leave and does not pursue her. In Hells Bells, the audience gets one glimpse of Buffy and Spike having a truly tender moment as they speak to one another about how they are hurting. Spike brought a date just to make Buffy jealous, she does tell him that it does actually hurt her..and look at his face again.....as soon as he realizes any of his actions "hurt" her..he immediately retracts..he tells her "I'm sorry" then tries to cover with, "Good". He then goes to describe how he truly sees her..his light...he likes to see her happy. She is "glowing" as he so kindly puts. He doesn't want to make her feel uncomfortable and offers to leave which he does. The reason why I said I think people gloss over this part of S6 is due to the treatment of Spike by the other characters. I think I recounted two instances where Spike was being Spike...basically pushing Buffy to pursue another relationship or wanting her to tell her friends about them. Hoping that either they would accept it cause they are her friends or judge her like she was in such fear of and that would allow him to come in be there for her. Side note: yes overall they are good friends but in the same breath..real friends won't judge you for choices you make; they will allow you to make your own choices and they dont have to agree but will still support you. Other than that Spike did not really resort back to early S5 Spike. He basically stayed out of her way other than a few interactions. Normal Again- Spike runs into Buffy as he is coming back from apparently "shopping". They talk about Xander leaving Anya and then Xander shows up. Instead of Buffy just saying she was just talking with Spike, she goes out of her way to make it appear as if she only stopped to talk to Spike to see what "contraband" Spike had. Spike looks at Buffy feeling defeated, that he will leave and will stop "bothering" her. Clearly they were just having a conversation but Buffy has to keep treating him badly for her friends' benefit. He is still choosing to be what she wants him to be. He even offers to carry her to his crypt since its close and Buffy was out of it, but Xander just tells him to basically get lost, Buffy is no concern of his. After him staying to help the Scoobies with Dawn...this is still where they are at with him. Same episode, he is still helps them capture the demon needed to cure her of whatever crap the stupid trio did to her sense of reality. Entropy- In Entropy, we do not see Spike really going out of his way to pursue Buffy other than him lurking in the cemetery which is where he dwells plus he is a vamp. The I'll dust this vamp for you if you tell your friends about us. Same episode, Buffy confronts Spike about cameras in her yard. He simply tells her, "I dont hurt you". Again, for Spike, the goal is to never harm his lady. Question is what does harm mean to him? Slowly he is learning through Buffy's reactions to his actions, what harm is and isn't. He goes to Anya to get a spell...now he could have easily diverted back to an early S5 Spike and get a spell to make Buffy love him..but he choses to get a numbing spell for himself; something to dull the pain he feels from Buffy, who just told him..."to get over it". Anya, who is dealing with her own heartache, pulls Spike into it by attempting to trick Spike into wishing something bad on Xander. Instead they get drunk and seek solace from one another as they go through their own pain and heartache. They do what they do and somehow we are supposed to look at them as if they were in the wrong? Nope, Buffy told Spike to get over and Xander broke it off with Anya. Xander does not see Spike as anything more than some soulless thing..therefore..Spike has no reason to hold the bro code. You see Buffy's pain as she stares at the camera watching Spike "move on" and still goes out of her way to prevent Xander from killing Spike. SR- When Dawn visits Spike, she asks him does he really love Buffy? If so, how could he "hurt" her by sleeping with Anya. I believe two things happen here: Buffy tells him it's real for him not her and to move on. He does (not truly), but then Dawn on her own accord goes to tell Spike she can see Buffy's pain regardless of no words being exchanged. Spike is now being told that she does hurt by what he does, which I can understand why he would think that way, she must love him if she is pained by what he did. Second, he has seemed to have broken his #1 rule- DON'T HURT THE GIRL. That is when he goes to her house. Something never addressed but both of them had serious boundary issues. Buffy always felt she could barge into his crypt without permission while also hitting him in the process and of course he thought he could just enter her BR. The story they pulled this from was one of the female writers on the show. She was actually Spike in a situation where she desperately forced herself onto her ex boyfriend in hopes that if they connect again they would be in love. Translation doesn't hit as well when the gender roles are reversed and here we get the scene we get. I interpret this scene as Spike going to Buffy because the one rule he has is to not hurt her..yet he did...so he goes to apologize and explain. He wanted a spell to make his feelings stop and he would have rather had Buffy let Xander kill him to spare the pain. Buffy tells him she couldn't kill him but is vague in her reason. This brings Spike to his 2nd thought of...if sleeping with someone else bothers her or won't allow anyone to kill him, she must love him. Out of desperation he seeks to reconnect with her in the only way she ever allowed him and continues ignoring any response she seems to give. It turns forceful and somewhat violent and only then after she kicks him off does he see her face again......seeing her reaction to his action...and all she tells him is, "Ask me again why I could never love you". Once again he has no moral compass of his own, but learning through Buffy, his light, does he understand that what he just did was horrific which brings him to his lowest point. Realizing hurting her in such a way that he as a man who romanticizes love above all else...his #1 rule; shattered. He even questions his own identity on why didn't he go through with it. He is lost; cant be a monster, cant be a man. He has been told this whole time that what keeps him from being a man is his lack of soul..so he goes to fight for his. Thinking that if he obtains his, he will then be worthy enough since for him without it he was capable of hurting her. He wanted to make sure he could never break his rule again. Ironically, obtaining a soul is not all that it takes. By finally having his moral compass returned he is able to see clarity; that he will never be good enough for her due to all of the evil things he has done. The soul permits the guilt which his guilt forces him to see why Buffy fought his love the whole time. No longer needing her guidance to tell him what is right or wrong. His own clarity helps him see that because he has always loved her..he pulls back and seeks to truly be by her side in whatever form she wishes. Whether that is staying a way or helping fight the fight. Backing off is what helped Buffy start to see Spike for what he had been fighting for the entire time. What he begged Cicley to see in him and what Dru promised he would get with her. Someone who comes along so persistent and intense in their feelings is a lot for most of us to comprehend and now that Buffy can see that Spike's actions are now based off of true intimacy not just lust, she can learn to trust him truly. Angel was her world, her first and her heart was shattered. It's pretty hard to have another come in to pick up the pieces, let alone, allowing a soulless demon to pick up the pieces. As long as this is; I just felt Spike was the character on the show that did not get enough props for the good he did try to do. We tend to always outcast members of our society who are labeled "bad" and seem to always tear them down on every mistake they make instead of focusing on when they do something good. You can do 9 things right and 1 thing wrong: we will always point out the 1 thing wrong and forget the other 9. So here you have Spike as the example where he in life he is essentially invisible to the society he belongs to (in his world at least). Wears his heart on his sleeve as he wants to find his "light" but cant seem to find it. He begs to be seen only to be turned away. Evil finds him and whispers all the things he wishes to hear, that he is somebody and that he will find his light...in Dru. However, that becomes tainted since he gave up his own moral compass and the only thing he knows now is what he is taught. His light in Dru is diminished when he realizes the rules are somehow different in the vamp world. At any time, Dru belongs to Angelus. It's only when he meets Buffy that he seems to try to find his way back to the light. She is effulgence in his eyes. He re-learns through Buffy what loving someone truly means.Something he had in him from the beginning, but had to wait 100+ years to find the only thing he was ever sure about....her.
@@rachelarroyo9460 Yes! I totally agree! As in truly the way Spike learns to love by the end of S7, it takes a lot of sacrifice and work to get to that point of love, I think. Which we never got there with "loving" Cicely or Dru.
I will always be team bangel but I love that spike is always there for her and stands up for and loyal and even if she doesn't really love him he wants to be by her side in the fight when they have save the world even as just friends I like them i like their banter
I prefer Spike, and I also believe that Buffy did love Spike, she just did not want to admit until she realized Spike was going to die. I don't think she would have said I love you if she did not feel love for Spike, Buffy never told Riley that she loved him, because she was not in love with Riley. She wanted a normal life, and she thought that Riley could give her that.
I wish whedon would have let Spike shine. Maybe Buffy and Spike angst was good. But to me. I really started hating Buffy for how she treated Spike. She forgave and begged gor Angel's attention and Angel barely thought of her. Spike would of been pure strength had she been honest with herself and admitted she was in love. Even the comic books whedon made Spike weak. He was better, stronger and more exceptional than even Buffy. Because he had character development and was well written. I'm thankful even today there's so much fanfiction to fix whedons weaknesses.
Yes! I absolutely agree with you regarding Buffy's attitude towards Spike (for the most part of it) and Angel. Angel left her years ago. And spent these years living his own busy and rich life. He had other lovers, relationships, sex, career, a son even. Lot of everything even without all these demons. And she's still sitting there and thinking about her first love when she was 16. C'mon, girl. Move one already. Because he did. He found lot of other things to be happy about already. This over-idealization of teenage love looks silly. Just some authors personal fixation. At the same time we have a man who is absolutely ready to do everything for her. He helps her whenever she asks even without a soul. He was risking his life to protect her and even people who she loved. He had no soul, so he went to get one for her and just to be a better man. He didn't run away from all her and their problems like all her previous boyfriends. Her life is like that. There will always be lot of problems. And if someone leaves, then they are the wrong people for her. And he stayed and decided to fight. Next to her. Together with her. And if we speak about real life, that's a very rare thing. And you should appreciate it. That should be the message. At least in S7 she started to treat him better. And what authors did in S6 for them, that was just big degradation for both of their characters. I understand idea about depression but if only it was just about it. All this extreme agression and violence, she constantly treated him like shit. She is so scared of her emotions towards him because 'oh, he is a vampire'. And eventually violence has won completely. Why? The show didn't benefit from it at all. Actors were frustrated, viewers were frustrated. Screw that. That was unnecessary. There are lot of other ways to write that.
Yeah I feel they were so hell bent on showing "impressionable teen girls" that hey this guy is so bad blah blah..like ok they got that part...why couldn't they have just continued on making him better..why did it have to be he was straight used and treated like crap from her friends (basically Buffy and Xander) after he stayed and helped with Dawn.....it's like none of his actions since then counted for him...they just kept holding everything against the dude. He experienced abuse from Buffy but that was supposed to be viewed as not such a big deal..then go make him do something to her...now we are supposed to hate him worse...I never did. I felt for Buffy in that one moment..but I also felt for both of them cause that situation was hard knowing that Spike would not have intentionally tried to hurt her...no one who is willing to die for someone is going to truly want to hurt the person they were wiling to die over.
Cause she already died once in S1...hence Kendra from S2...then Dru killed Kendra...then came Faith...so the line already continued since Buffy should have tech been dead S1. Since she was brought back to life by Xander S1...she already deviated from the slayer line...

The only thing I hate about your Vidoe ZNellyZ is that you did not include the scene were spike gets his soul from that demon and he screams in pain. could you remake this and include that scene ?
I loved Buffy with Angel and I loved Buffy with Spike, but Spike loved her even when he didn't have a soul
Zoe sims Buffy with Spike and Angel with me! 😉😊😁that's perfect! 😄
Thats what i always said!!
He was upseat with her like with drew
James is amazing actor and I really love Spike change because it was so natural and slowly change and we can see his true character.
I agree I don't understand why people are willing to forgive Angel, but not Spike, they both did horrible things, but at least Spike sacrificed himself for Buffy and the world
Angel was puppy love. Riley was the bench warmer. Spike was everything. He was the true soulmate of Buffy's.
Yeah definitely
I hate that they killed him, like they couldn’t of come up with any other way?😭😭
They are the most beautiful love story I have ever seen. I grew up watching this show and have always loved it. Buffy and Spike (William the Bloody) are amazing together! ❤️
@@autumnmarie4655 she had to know that he was like angel. He could love as hard and sacrifice
this is a better love story than twilight. Also i still think spike is hot now that i'm older and i will never get tired of him :)
Spike was so sweet. So different from other vampires .He was adorable and sexy... And a truly son of bitch sometimes, but his love for Buffy was unquestionable . James Masters made a magnificent performance.
I always feel that Spike loves Buffy more than Angel. Anyone agree?
Agreed
Agreed, Spike loved Buffy with and without his soul but Angel hated Buffy without his soul. Spike may be the first vamp who volunteered to get his soul. Plus Spike spent so much time fighting beside Buffy whereas Angel either comes and goes with his cryptic warnings or leaves or causes mass destruction onto the planet lol.
@@ecole5000 Nothing more to add here. :)
That´s something Bangel never had.
most vampires are a demon in the shell of a man spike was a good man in the shell of a demon

I'm crying like a baby. This is so good and sad. Spike's character arc is one of the best I've ever seen.
Angel was her teenage first love. Spike/William was her adult, true love.
Mindy Newell
Nah.
Angel was the teenager love.
Spike was that toxic codependent relation you know is killing you both but just cant leave yet. When you confuse custom and some degree of affection with love.
Thats definetely not the love of a grown up person.
Fernando Martinez
That toxic codependency was before Spike had a soul: After he got his soul they both made each other better.
Ugh.
@@fernandomartinez4486 I know you arent that dumb to say they didnt grow together. They both healed.
@@ndp7054 in angel he actually grows even more as a person.
Agree! I don´t want to see Buffy´s remake. I need next seasons of Buffy.
ZNellyZ dido
I couldn’t agree more, she did love Spike she just didn’t want too. And that use to piss me off, but it is what it is. Sad but true.
I think Spike knew she loved him, but he said that she didn't as a way of showing her that he didn't think she owed him anything.
The truth was that Buffy did not want to admit that she was in love with Spike, but I could see that she loved him, I agree it's too bad that she did not tell Spike of her love for him until she realized that he was going to die.
We kissed….with the rising music, and the rising…..music. 😊
Spike had the best character arc out of everyone on the series
As a 37 years old male from the Balkans, I will reluctantly admit that combination of Buffy, Spike and Low completely changes the narrative of a summer night and reminds me of both my late teens and incredible turmoil that came with raw emotions of young love. I just watched the entire show after 20 years and everything about it is brilliant - it's a masterful combo of smart and dumb, cheap and deep and It's easily one of best shows that I ever watched.
Best character arc and best developed love story! Great job!
Spike...my favourite character in the series
They were a match. They loved each other, but she was afraid of that, until the end. They were destined.

Spike's dream of telling Buffy he loves her was the funniest part in the entire series yet at the same time, romantic and sad. 🌹⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐🌹👌
True.
Buffy didn’t treat Spike well. Often times she was the abusive one
I love them together! I always wanted Buffy to fall in love with Spike! Spike was in love with her! I hope they do a Buddy reboot! I love to have them back together again!

In the comics they are together.

According to DVD commentary Joss says Buffy meant it at the end. And she fell head over heels in love with Spike in the comics.
Quite simply you can't just tie up nine years of love and romance like it was a passing moment that meant nothing, and I think even Joss realized that by the end and so finally gave a Whedonverse couple a happy ending.
angel loved her because he had a soul, spike had a soul because he loved her
That is beautifully said❤️

Spike was really in love with buffy!!!!!
I love spike and buffy!!!!!👍👍👍
I think buffy really feel in love with spike also in season 4 may have been a spell that Willow casted but always heard that the only reason why would work is that she had feelings for spike and buffy did admit to Tara and angel that she love spike.
I agree, Buffy did not want to love Spike because he was vampire. But yes she loved, it's just too bad she did not admit until he was dying.

I remember arguing with my brother about the end of season 6 when Spike was re-souled. I argued that that is what Spike fought for, to have a soul to show her he could be better. My brother argued he wanted to be what he was before they met. William The Bloody so he could show her how evil he can be.
I think that Spike wanted his soul back because he thought he wasn't enough good for Buffy.
@@ZNellyZz That's another thing I argued about with him lol
The demon that gave Spike his soul back, knew that was what Spike really wanted, which is the reason Spike soul was given back.

Spike is so cool I really like the spike and Buffy too
Had to split this baby up into 2 lol but I digress
Buffy breaks up with Spike- I think a lot of people kind of gloss over this part of the season.
I think Spike never truly loved Dru, Buffy was the first woman he ever truly loved, like he told her that she was the only thing he was ever sure of.
@@rachelarroyo9460 Yes! I totally agree! As in truly the way Spike learns to love by the end of S7, it takes a lot of sacrifice and work to get to that point of love, I think. Which we never got there with "loving" Cicely or Dru.
I love Spike
Beautifully done 💗
My first OTP......
Thank you ❤️
Lol!! Oh God no..please no 😂😂
Spike says 'I kill you!' (School Hard) and Buffy responds 'I love you!' (Chosen).
That's the extend of their relationship.
True :)
Love him!
Aside from the poor video quality, weak audio quality, and the background music, this was a good compilation
I know, video and audio are terrible 🤦♀️ I didnt have HD episodes and it is not the best video what I have ever made. But thank you ❤️
Spuffy, Fangel, And Dargelus
I'm reminded of my ex-wife that thought that I would become a demon. I've lived a charmed life.
Man... Soul ties are real!!
Nice 👍👍👍
music too loud, spike too quite
Thank you for your advice :)
"GOD I LOVE YOU SO MUCH"
♥
All Love Buffy the Vampyrslayer very much alsow
Good compilation but don't like the background music though. And it's too loud
Music is not the best now I know it :D
If Buffy ever reboots which I hope it doesn’t I feel like Emma Roberts would be good to play Buffy
I don't want Buffy's reboot. They did Charmed's reboot and it's terrible. I can not imagine Emma like Buffy
In the end he was too good for her
LOVE it
Song was ok, don't know about Spuffy scenes cause I didn't hear those through the music
Thank you for your comment :)
i loved it
Thank you ♥
the backgeound song is perfect! who's the artist?
Low
ZNellyZ thanks! 😙
Off topic but why didn’t Buffy dying in season 5 trigger the next slayer being called forward?
There is still Faith so I think after her death there will be new slayer :)
Cause she already died once in S1...hence Kendra from S2...then Dru killed Kendra...then came Faith...so the line already continued since Buffy should have tech been dead S1. Since she was brought back to life by Xander S1...she already deviated from the slayer line...
I think because there already was another slayer, I think faith would have to have die, remember when Buffy died the first time, Kendra because a slayer and then when Kendra died Faith became a slayer
What is the name of this song in the background?
