What an eventful life. He got to personally interact with Dr.King and Jawahar Lal Nehru. His father being a US Diplomat, he travelled and lived in different parts of the world. That has shaped him to think for others in a humane way. A great conversation indeed.
Michael Sandel (Harvard Philosopher) has brought up that Israeli school study in some of his talks online. If you like Bowles' work you would probably like Sandel as well.
This makes so much good sense! Thank you Mr. Samuel for your efforts of putting together understandings that will benefit all inhabitants of this planet, and thank you Mr. Harry, you make this chanel the best because you are the best☺ I believe in your comment that all people have, or may have altruism as a core trait, when a person helps others this creates good energy, when they help themselves only it is usually always an unsatisfactory feeling, so it make sense to help others, who doesn't like feeling good, right?! If this is a law of nature, a human core incentive to do good, how does this work in a large political society, big corporations, law, etc? I guess the economics of food, clothing and shelter throws a wrench in the spokes of human survival, but it seems the culture and geography each society lives in allows for diverse solutions to keep the wheel turning. Nature does over time so I am pretty sure humans will if we are patient find solutions for all challenges, the current corona19 virus may be an example of global cooperation, everyone wants their immediate health and our eyes are wide open to the natural laws as we understand them that will give of this including; cleanliness, slowdown, small scale, and in my view sparse healthy food and consistent mental and physical exercise. Your comment that there are so many people who do unmeaningful work, and about the vertical spike in capitalistic wealth of the few, if this plays a part in creating unhealthy economics how are these problems corrected, it seems mostly people's eyes don't want to open when in this situation even though the effects are detrimental to them and the society at large, right? Thank you again Mr. Samuel for your broad and creative insights and the work you do, I think you probably always consider yourself a student but to me you are the best of teachers.
