Dumping Solas for Cullen late in the game

- I tried doing the Solas romance route, if only for the story alone, but then I ended up regretting it when I saw how little screentime this romance had. Unfortunately , this was the only chance that I had to break up with him by then. I noticed that Cullen has somewhat different dailogue if you romance him really late in the game. I thought others might want to see that.

Lmaoooo I did that everytime when i played the game for the first time in 2014 when i was 14 😂 only now after almost 9 years i found the "proper" way to get to his office. I still do suicide jump because it's hilarious especially with Inquisitor's delayed scream after she falls down 😂😂😂

Same! I tried to break things off with Dorian to try and Romance Bull, but I felt horrible and immediately went to an old save just so it didn’t happen😭
It's weird how we usually make people feel like shit in real life with no regrets at all, but are incapable of doing so in a simulation. I think third person is the key, you don't feel bad unless you can see It from the outside. Nontheless, I really miss this game, stopped my second playthrough after the Winter Palace, might go back to It and finish It now. I really wanted to do the Solas romance for Trespasser, but It pains me to much to see my Lavellan suffering, so I always end up with Cullen, the cutest romance in my opinion (since Sera is a bitch, Blackwall sounds and looks like your father, and Josephine's romance feels like a romantic comedy written by Adam Sandler).
Yeah, that was how I accidentally romanced Blackwall. Heavy flirting with everyone and he was like "so is this a thing?" and I felt bad saying no.

Solas and Cullen oddly are the most compelling love interests for Inquisitor Lavellan. Especially if Lavellan is First to the Keeper.
This is the first time I've heard the American female VA coming from an elf Inquisitor and it is downright cursed

Lol both of my female Lavellans have American female voice (one of them is an encyclopedia bitch and romances Solas) and I don’t regret it. The British voice just doesn’t fit their faces and personalities much😆 and… both my qunari girls have the British voice so I’m built different in all the wrong ways

I feel as though Solas approves of being broken up with because he knows what will happen and he’s rather have the inquisitor break up with him instead of feeling pain of Solas leaving her. But then again, Solas loved the inquisitor and didn’t want to end things the way they did
Even knowing what's going to happen, it still feels so sad and wrong to watch Solas leaving devastated like that

I’ve actually been considering doing a new playthrough just to do that! I’ll definitely for a Solas romance just before the next DA game drops.
Interesting! I've never seen a clip of leaving Solas at a late stage, either. I love the nuance in his expression there - the quick smile to hide his pain, the slow walk away. I used to hate the idea of the Solas romance, but I've come to appreciate it greatly. When I first played, I made a beeline for Cullen because I'd been waiting through two games for my shot, but Blackwall was my 2nd playthrough, then Josephine, and I'm thinking of revisiting the game with a full heartbreaking Solas playthrough. :D
Next time I play, I fully intend on doing a full Solas romance playthrough… at least just before the next DA game drops. Gotta get the full Solas heartbreak-probably-have-to-kill-your-ex experience!

I did this with blackwall, he was the first person I romanced the first time I ever played inquisition I romanced him and when I found out he was lying I got completely turned off and was like yesss the man I shoudve chosen from the jump, CULLEN IS OP

You know, I seriously considered this my first playthrough? Did the Winter Palace last, was actually horrified by how at home Solas was in the court intrigue while Cullen was as disgusted by them as my Inky. When the game suddenly started racing toward the finish line and Solas said, "Come with me, vhenan!" I seriously considered breaking things off to date Cullen instead... But didn't. I'm glad I didn't since I got to experience the full glory of Solavellan Hell... but this does take me back! xD

There’s no way I could do this. My Solavellan Hell tether is too tight and strong for me to even be strong enough to do it.
Then again, this has been a tempting option that I’ve warred with myself over taking, but you’ve taken that away from me.
I’m also super thankful for it, too!

I think most Solasmancers are mascocists. Not kink shaming but yeah don't see the appeal.
I dunno, at my first gameplay I liked Cullen and Dorian (my women tears 🤣), Solas seemed kinda.. distant, but somehow it just happened, like in real life, romance happens when you do not expect, so I just went with it. Little did I know that it will become soooo heartbreaking. But yeah, now I cannot imagine anything else - again, like in real life, you cannot undo what you've done. So I am a proud member of Solavellan hell now 😹
I thought of Solas as only a friend, but he snuck up on me. He seems so gentle and soft and like he respects you. I was already set on a Dorian Romance, but I’m definitely gonna make another playthrough just to romance Solas.

It’s really sad, but ultimately I think you can meet him again in the DLC. I haven’t played the DLC yet so

I could never do this, because no matter how flawed Solas is, he does love Lavellan and I don't like toying with hearts, neither irl or in a game. I started playing DAI being a Cullenmancer because Solas shinny head turns me off till this day, but once I was able to fix that I totally fell for the Solavellan hell and I regret nothing. However, it's nice to see what happens in the choices I can't make.
I was legitimately trying to do a full Solas romance, but I ended up being charmed back to Cullen again. He just reminds me too much of my husband not to lol. Anyway, after a certain point (the dream kiss when you first get to Skyhold), this is the only chance you get to breakup with Solas.

If one dumps a companion mid/late game, and romance another, will you still be able to catch up and play all the romantic cinematics like this? Even if you technically already triggered them by progressing the story. Hope the question makes sense. Would be kinda lame if you didn't get all the content to develope the feelings/relationships from starting it late. Thinking about doing a breakup in my next playthrough.
I think there’s only a select few companions that allow this that late in the game, one of which is Cullen. I had no trouble triggering all his romantic cut scenes after this.

I actually kinda like this option. Entire romance is rollercoaster of emotions, but you taking him on a ride too, breaking it off before he did, making burden of guilt a bit lighter, but at the same time making him realize it was more serious, than he intended, because it hurts like a bitch. And later down the line it won't be guilty regret for hurting you, but longing for "real thing" he lost. One must treasure all the ways to make Egg suffer 😂

When the game just came out I was a human female and immediately fell for Solas... Since he only romances fem elf, I ended up with Cullen because he was cute. But Solas still was my first crush from DAI
