If you like to see me replicate lures You should watch this video here's a link

We're did you get or buy the twist tool.
If you made a book, I’d buy that for sure.
So much valuable information in all your content, thanks for all you do.
Thank you
You're brilliant! Love how u figured out the volume
Thank you! 😊
Work of art Sir your a True Fishin Magician 🙂👍🐟
My dad used to catch snook in rivers in the winter on Bang O Lures. I see 5" versions online but not bigger ones. I remember that the hooks rusted out quickly and weren't strong enough for heavy drag. But they get bit.
Amazing how much you’ve vested into understanding how all the lures work. I wonder if the actual manufacturers put that much into them.
I think they do...but they won't share!
@@EngineeredAngler I custom paint baits myself and created lots of different rigs and different stuff. But never actually tried to create my own swim bait or hand carve a plug. Will do so maybe this winter. Been making baits and rigs for 3 decades+.
I just stripped, airbrushed, and clear coated an old AC shiner 6.5" that looks identical to that Rapala, it was my late fathers, it was sitting in an old tacklebox for the last 20+ years
Right on!
Great build Marco, I could even follow the math, well, almost! LOL! When you finish with your gutters I'm outside Gainesville!
I hate getting up on the roof!!! Good luck with your gutters😄
Big chuckle at the end with "dropped the go pro."
I bet you could rig up a lanyard to prevent that from happening again but who knows you might find some treasure at the bottom of the lake or even solve the Jimmy Hoffa case.
Also I feel you on the end of project anxiety. I've messed up so many lures on the final coating stage it's not even funny. It's embarrassing how many epoxy coated lures have my "signature" finger print because I wasn't patient enough to let it dry completely before touching it. UV resin has been a total game changer from two part epoxy resin but sometimes I can even screw that up. TMT syndrome (too many thumbs).
I can totally relate. BTW I put a lanyard on the go pro right after my little snorkel session.
Great installment on this series. Thanks for all the work you put into producing these videos.....That lure would slay stripers......
Thanks for watching!
Nice!
Looking forward to the master class
Nice lure ! And glad you were able to find your go pro!!! That would have sucked if you would have lost it.
After feeling around on the muddy bottom for a while I was glad to find it and it was still recording.
Very Nice class!!! Congrats dude!
Thanks
I love your videos. I really enjoy the theory, thank you!
Almost lost the Gopro!!
Cant wait for the next master class.
Greeting from Brazil.
Stay tuned, more to come
Nice job👍🏻🐟😍
Such a great work, one question
Is it possible to create a minnow or crankbait that casts as good as a weightshift but with only lead inside?
When you showed the original lure i said rapala, right away. Guess not 😂 i dare to say they have copied the rapala shape tho. Rapala been around since romans almost 🙈 awsome film. Things you dont think of making a lure i recon, volumes, angles, weight etc. Great to watch
Love the video. My favorite to this day is the rapala sr5. Balsa in a natural perch. Best multi species bait I have ever used. Can we maybe make that one next please...👍
Good choice!
Carving this direction, the wood grain would possibly lead your knife deaper into the wood than you like, or make it crack along the grain.
Nice one Franco! Thanks for the details on how you reverse-engineered the design. I like the stick baits but find the balsa ones to be too light so I'll be making some up out of heavier woods like basswood, cedar and poplar.
I'm with you...I don't like balsa.
Excellent video! I really appreciate the amount of thought and hard work you put into your craft and videos. I've learned a lot from you. I will hopefully be building my own musky baits in the near future. Thanks for the inspiration!
Go for it... Nothing like catching a fish on a bait you made yourself. Cheers
Love it. Thank you.
As usual another informative video thanks for sharing
Outstanding job...great attention to detail...another master informative video !!!
Thanks so much
Excellent presentation
So nice and good explained step by step.

Saludos, Pura vida.... Costa Rica es una belleza de país...queremos volver pronto.
@@EngineeredAngler y son más que bienvenidos en el momento que gusten
Great video. I think you improved the hook hanger placement.
Thanks, I think so too.
I think I like your lures action better, and pleased ya found your go pro
This is awesome and a great way for beginner lure makers to get into the hobby. It goes over every detail needed to be able to replicate lures that they may have good luck with without trying to figure out their own shapes. Also, you are crazy diving into that lake when you've shown us the alligators in there that have followed you in your boat! That GoPro would have been gone!
GoPro's are expensive 😁
The efforts and details you go to are to be commended 👍👌😉 amazing work
Thanks😊
Good video except the part where you're pulling the carving knife towards you, one slip and it's a trip to the ER
Excellent video, very good explanation, although I lack some details to understand, I am learning more and more, about balance and balance in large lures, with bibs. thank you, you are a machine ...Too bad I don't understand English, I miss out on some little data ...
Glad it was helpful! You can turn on the closed cation for the video...it might help.
Be honest Franko, it burned like you know what when ya stuck your finger in the hot glue…didn’t it? 😉
Ya hit another home run!
There was a single tear....
Awesome video what polyacrylic do you use as a mid coat before you top coat? Thanks
Minwax Polyacrylic
T Square angle finder thing bibs 2 g 2 L to milliliters
Fantastic video, thank you always. How do you decide on the placement of the weights?
I go into that in many of my videos. Check out my playlist of design build. Cheers.
@@EngineeredAngler cheers, thanks
You can only get close by knowing the exact internal.
Nicely done! It makes me want to get some balsa and make some classics. I've been using scrap pine with good success but the balsa would be a nice challenge. Thanks for another great video
Go for it. Balsa is a mixed bag..easy to work but easy to damage too.
You ever try flies in the fall?
No don't fly fish....yet.
Hello, I have one question, do you have the link of brushes you use for coating the lures? I cannot find it and if I use the normal brushes with hair is destroying the coat.
Thank you.
They are Inexpensive artist's brushes. I really don't have a link for them
Are the brushes of Nylon or silicone ?
I'm looking for a 60 grams craink bait..hard to find
The length of the video given the depth of the data possibly waste one breath rinse and tackle sizzle band
What about weight of glue between laminations
The thing to focus on is the specific gravity of whatever you are putting on, paint, clear coat, glue, whatever. If the specific gravity is between 0.9 to 1.15, don't worry about it. Otherwise you'll be doing some calculations. Good luck.
What are you using for wire there?
Titanium welding wire....045in diameter.
Will red cedar work for stick bait?
Yes.
❤️❤️❤️
When I go to test mine they spin in the water how do I fix that
Your dive bib is misaligned...most likely
Aren't there alligators in there Franko, just curious... i would have got another gopro. Great vid by the way..
I Try not to think about the alligators.
