My boys were there age when we got a border collie shepherd mix. He ended up the best friend in my life and my third child. We walked alot morning and night. Get a shelter 1 and up. My Taz is missed every second of every day. 15 yrs of love.

I agree with going to the animal shelters and adopting a dog that already needs a good home. Any “pure bred” dog you guys purchase will have some form of health issues.

Funny how kids want a dog but can't clean their room, lol. I have a cat never wanted one but though we all would scoop the poop and now we have had a cat not the same cat but one from the litter of the cat that eventually ran off or someone took it because it wandered around the housing complex. I know have grown to like the cat and basically the only one to clean up the litterbox. Now my daughter wants a dog and we ain't having that because I already know how it will work out. She bought a hamster and is doing okay with it but nope we ain't having no dogs in here, it ain't that kind of apartment for it.
Don't do it. My husband and I spent $1500.00 for a dog after our kids begged us to get one. That dog became my husband and my dog. It was a lot of work.

They’re lying about taking care of that dog all kids say that until it’s there they live on the dog dress it up play with it and leave the rest to parents, trust me I know, and as soon as they can drive they spend even less time with the dog because their friends take over!
