Hi, Ken. Sadly you came during the rainy "low" season (Habagat). Not only is there rain, but the wind will be blowing towards the White Beach side of the island from June-October. That's why you'll see wind screens up. So you won't find the typical calm waters and clear skies as you would during "high" season (Amihan), and it also brings with it some seaweed and debris to the shore, which the locals regularly have to clean up. You'll notice that the other side of the island (Bulabog Beach) will be much calmer. You can walk there and see the difference. It's reversed in the high season. But cheer up. Sometimes you can still get nice weather. It's just less frequent. Also by the way, please feel free to just say "no thanks" to solicitors and keep going. You don't have to entertain them.
Banana ketchup doesn’t have a tomato in it, due to shortage of tomatoes in World War II Filipinos invited a ketchup made up of Bananas since Bananas were plentiful in the Philippines.
Spent 2 months on Boracay back in 1984-1985... About 200 backpackers on the entire island. Stayed in very nice little bamboo shack right off the beach, owned by a original family. 50 pesos a night. On the entire beach during the day, only about the same 200 visitors. Not one hotel or commercial restaurant... just a handful of primitive food serving stalls. No tricycles... in fact no transportation at all on the island. Only walking end to end. No commercial stores... not even one. Zero electricity, no phones, Cost per day under 100 pesos for everything, (equal about $5 usd at that time.) It was indeed a paradise with the same beach but nothing built up to the edge. Just family owned parcels and their simple houses. NO airport, no ferrys, no tickets, no environmental charge... NO charges at all. Just a outrigger canoe to get across from Panay.... after taking a long Jeepney ride to get there from Kalibo. I just hope the orginal family that owned the land where I stayed didn't get fleeced as the big money moved in. The famely had been there pior to WW2 and the Japanese invasion. One weird episode... Christmas Day, dinner with the family and another couple of travelers. The old man begins to tell us about his experiences when the Japanese took over the island. Was really detailed and so out of any Christmas spirit, but we dared not interrup him. I'll never forget his stories about war time, while we were sitting their in paradise looking over the beach and palm trees about 150 feet to the water. They had the most beautiful island all to themselves. I hope they were able to turn their land into enough to live on elsewhere, but I kind of doubt they came out better than what they already had....which then was still mostly Boracay to themselves.
Hello Ken.. Have you heard of Palawan? Altho Boracay is still one of the best beaches in the country.. But there are already hundreds of more beautiful islands and beaches here which are incomparable to those you have seen in other beaches in other Asian countries. We even have our own Maldives here in Palawan. Anyway, someone should have advised you to come here in summer so there would be no rain to bring those dirts in the beach which were brought from other islands brought by the floods due to the heavy rain.

The calamansi is not for the pork though ken haha you can make a dipping sauce for the pork chop using calamansi, chili and soy sauce.. usually the sauce we use when eating grilled pork, grilled chicken, bbq
The lime/calamansi that you squeezed on your food is meant to make a dipping sauce. You pour soy sauce in your sauce plate, then squeeze the calamansi, and mix.

@ ken Recently chanced upon and ended subscribing to your channel. I chose to subscribe because your theme to share SE Asia travel & respect for locals’ way of life is admirable! I request the following: 1- links to your camera, microphone & drone point to DE site; links donot seem to work here in the US. Would you have US equivalents for said items? 2- saw your vlog on your food poisoning in Nepal. Glad to hear that you overcame the illness. IMO, it would help if you showed the incident, and how your health insurance covered it. It is a missed opportunity. It is similar to this “pouring rain” you are encountering now in Cambodia. Not everyday is a sunny day, like everything else in life- there are up’s & down’s. At least, my two cents, it gives a realistic perspective on the times that are not so good, to balance the “sunny” times. Take care and remain vigilant. All the best! 🎉
Can you go to Gerry's Grill and do a food review there. It's beside the place where you ate. It's one of the fave content of Pinoys. Get the grilled squid and pork sisig. Ask the waiters the ideal sausage for the squid. Sisig, you just need to squeeze the calamansi over it.

I request the following:
1- links to your camera, microphone & drone point to DE site; links donot seem to work here in the US.
Hello ken from Bohol, Philippines😊

Yes normally ken, chip in system is normal to travel for budjet set up. Specially the boat hopping.
Aha!Guess as much you were heading to Boracay!Enjoy Ken.😎🇲🇾💕
