It must break your heart when one of your "children" comes home injured or sick! Thank you for always being there for them and caring for all of them. Your work is so important for all of us! 👍💜✌️
As the human species completes its collective transition into history by 2150, elephants and octopuses will continue the next grand cycle of intelligence on this beautiful planet we call home. 😊 Life will keep expanding towards new frontiers of balance, kindness, and love.
@@charphel absolutely. i'm not claiming it's inevitable or that i can see the future. we're on youtube comments lol not a court of truth. what is undeniable (to me) is that without a leap in our collective consciousness, our trajectory will not change. our current model of hyper-capitalism is predicated on unlimited resources and unlimited exploitation of the natural world. we have lost (again, imo) a sense of responsibility towards the planet and those that share the earth with us (inclusive of other humans). we have lost all sense of measure and common sense. we have forgotten that we are part of a vast interconnected web and that we're not the central species in existence, that we depend on the interconnections to subsist as a species. our role is to be stewards and guardians of life so that it can nourish us in turn. and you know, i'll be the first to say i hope what i said above turns out to be flat out wrong. i life my life on the idea that we _will_ collectively make that leap in consciousness. i do my best to cause minimal damage to the planet and to maximize what i can do for the planet on a personal level through volunteering, life choices, monetary donations etc. but how the future of the human species turns out is not really up to me, or to you or to any other one person, is it? collectively, i think our attention is focused on more hyper-consumption and violence to the detriment of all else. we are still acting on misapprehensions from mischievous belief systems that the world was created for us to use. we are squandering precious and extremely limited windows of opportunity. human leadership is old, ineffective, often selfish, uniformly short-sighted and mostly puerile in spite of their age. with every year of vacillation, the choices available to future generations become more limited and more grim. we need an all-hands-on-deck situation now to be able to adjust course and stay the course for decades and that won't come about without a global shift in our consciousness.
Thank-you Benjamin for doing such an exemplary job taking care of these MAGNIFICENT CREATURES. These elephants truly would be in trouble without you keeping an eye out for them. These are my most FAVOURITE ANIMALS next to DOGS because l can't keep an ELEPHANT IN MY BACK YARD so l have loved ❤️ DOGS as well. So thank -you so much Benjamin ❤ for the stellar job you do. Love Heather ❤️ from Melbourne Australia
It breaks my heart after everything these orphans have been through they still suffer at the hands of humans. Thank goodness he had a 'home' to come back to for help ❤
They say an Elephant never forgets and he certainly did not forget all the loving kindness that was given to him whilst at The SWT. 💝I pray that Barsilinga does not get No more bad things happen to him.🙏🤞❤❤❤
Your ex-orphans know exactly where to come for help, in addition to bringing their new babies to introduce to you. I think this is absolutely Wonderful! "Thank You" seems so inadequate for all you do, not only for the orphans currently in your care, ex-orphans and also wild Elephants in need of help. I am so glad Barsilinga came back for help. That was a deep wound and he could have died as a result. His fellow Elephants just knew you were helping him. May God Bless you all for treating and saving Barsilinga. There really are no words to express our appreciation for the incredible work you do. I really am in awe of you all 💙🐘💙🙏🙏
Watching the faces of concern over this beautiful elephant is heartbreaking, they only want the best for these magnificent creatures and even risk their own lives to keep them safe. The fact that this beautiful elephant returned to where he knew he could receive the urgent care needed to save him speaks volumes to the amazing people who care for these beautiful elephants thank you for all you do 🐘❣
A very good wish, but even eight billion angels would put too much stress onto our planet and its many innocent inhabitants - a few million thoughtful and active humans spread widely would be mine (certainly well under a billion of such).
Sadly, all 8 billion don't care: the older generation because it's too late to teach them anything, the younger generation because they want to be famous above all else, and my generation who were late to the table but teach/model that to be truly environmentally friendly, you shouldn't have children first and foremost, and must be aware of our environmental footprint wheter it's single use water bottles, plastic bags or plastic bottle rings!
That's why we cannot forget Sheldrick's Trust, your service beyond recognition, a heroic act of Love and care for animals, and have reached to God be the glory!
I hated looking at that but I knew they were trying to help it. I hate seeing scared elephants running with trunk & tail horizontal!! I know they ruin the trees & bushes in the farms but...
Hi, Benjamin! 🙋🏻♀️❤ I met you Oct. 2022 on the Sunworld tour. Many thanks to you and your vet and care colleagues for treating this very smart, sweet Bull. ❤
Its incredible that Barsilinga knew that if he went back to the stockades at Ithumba Benjamin and the SWT team would help him with his spear wound. It shows you just how attached the orphans become to their keepers and they are humans that will help them, instead of ones that hurt them. Another amazing story and rescue from the elephants friends, the inspirational Sheldrick Wildlife Trust. Please remember to keep supporting them in any way you can.
My gosh how he knew that he was really hurt & because of you the keepers who raised him, he knew to come back & ask for help. Which he received. This is a testimony of what Sheldrick is & of the keepers kindness . You guys are angels
So lovely to have one of your skilled staff talking to camera, instead of just captions or voiceover. It's good to hear & see these stories narrated by the people who experience it all first hand.
Big Thank you ❤to you all your All Compassionate loving caring . Please keep up dated for everyone ❤ Love. Yvonne mullion Cornwall England 🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘❤❤❤❤❤❤🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘
Can they put something like a microchip (like those in household pets) in the elephants to help track them? It's always heartbreaking when they get injured or killed. Respect and admiration to the Sheldrick Trust for the work they do.
Must have been incredibly stressful for the keepers who raised him and watched him grow. I do hope he sticks close to home as he recovers. What a smart boy for finding his way back when he needed care.
es increíble el vínculo que se crea, entre los huérfanos rescatados y su familia humana. Lo hirieron y supo que solo sus papás humanos, podrían ayudarlo. Son increíbles los elefantes
Wow thank you for helping this gentle giant to heal & live to see many more years! How intelligent they are! Thank you all vets & staff at Sheldrick wildlife trust ❤❤❤ from me in Port Elizabeth Eastern Cape South Africa 🇿🇦🐘🐘
🙏🙏🙏👍👍👍 Thank you so much for your kindness to save, help and protect precious innocent animals!!! Your kindness make this world a better place to live in..❤❤🙏🙏👍👍
Please, please, don't let the poachers get back in again. They will ruin years of your hard work, killing and destroying the great work that you guys do. I feel so sad with what happened to Barsilinga. Thank you for taking care of him.
It is awesome to see the elephants coming for help knowing their human friends who took such good care of them, and it sickens and disgusts me that some people who care so little for an animal much smarter than them, thank you, DSWT, for being there to help ❤❤❤❤❤
You are such heroes. Working so hard in a dangerous & challenging environment. Seeking no accolades or attention. Your reward is guarding the beautiful animals who are a gift from God - n so are you. TYTYTY for your brave hearts. WeluvU
As Benjamin said, humans are the only ones who can help. Maddeningly, humans are also the only ones causing destruction and pain for wildlife and the entire natural world. The cruel attack on Barsilinga is exactly the kind of thing I fear when rescued animals are released into the wild - they immediately become vulnerable again to the dangers that necessitated their original rescue. But what is the alternative? Honestly, it makes me despair. I am grateful for Barsilinga’s trust in the carers at Sheldrick and for the team’s quick and expert response to his crisis. I hope he recovers quickly and lives a long and peaceful life. I have named Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in my will and hope others will consider doing so. Thank you.
Amazing, how he knew to come home to the keepers. His trust in them is phenomenal. Thank you for protecting the wildlife. Your country is very beautiful. Bless your work, You are all so special.
The connection between animals and humans when it originates with and is supported by kindness if everlasting. Thank you to all who care so much for these magnificent creatures.🥰
Thank you is not enough for all the guides and helpers. But the focus, intent, work, and joy displayed is powerful; and non-ending for all that you do and have done for many years. Thank you with sincere love and respect to all of you...
Tremendous rescues and veterinarians help out in the field Benjamin and all staff at DSWT , so proud to be part of sponsoring of elephant's and now Chomboi too....thx a mill for all ❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you for the wonderful work you all do in raising, protecting and aiding the Elephants in your care. And as Barsilinga instinctively knew. You are also there for them should they need help even after they have left to start their free independent lives as mother nature intended.
He came home, because he knew his human family could help him. Elephants are so smart and amazing.
It must break your heart when one of your "children" comes home injured or sick! Thank you for always being there for them and caring for all of them. Your work is so important for all of us! 👍💜✌️
He had only been in the wild 2 years and not even a full grown adult , I am glad he made it back in time to get help.
to all of you, who dedicate your lives to saving animals, thank you! we love and respect you all!
It's heartbreaking when after all this care and effort to help him survive as an infant has to face human's aggressiveness again...
As the human species completes its collective transition into history by 2150, elephants and octopuses will continue the next grand cycle of intelligence on this beautiful planet we call home. 😊 Life will keep expanding towards new frontiers of balance, kindness, and love.

How amazing that Barsilinga knew to put his trust in the people who would help him. Thank you to all who helped him.
Elephants Never cease to fascinate me, they're wonderful ♥♥♥
Thank you for all you do and God bless. ❤ 🐘
True. But it was only because other people hurt him in the first place.
Elephant memory and he grew up there.

@@Don.Challengeryes, good correction. I agree; I must have been very emotional when I wrote that.

I know they ruin the trees & bushes in the farms but...
This very touched my heart 😢 I hope Basilinga regain his strength and power back so he can live in the wild freely and safely that he deserves.
Thank you so much for helping these gentle giants 👏👏👏
Those of you who take care of these precious creatures are the best of humanity. Thank you.
I'm so glad they know where to get help but geez, I wish more could be done to stop it happening in the first place. Thanks for everything you do.
Yes indeed. Especially at barrel end of a high velocity precision rifle.
Not all heroes wear capes; some wear green (and other color) lab coats. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Special thanks to Benjamin 🥰
Merci, par votre engagement vous faites honneur à l'humanité. 🙏
Thank you for caring for this big guy. He knew where to go for help. His human family.❤️🐘❤️

Barsilings knew exactly who to go to for help. His human family raised him to be the strong, handsome bull he is today. THANK YOU!❤
