Onggi is a traditional earthenware vessel and It is found in many households in Korea. The platform full of many Onggis is called "Jangdokdae". These days the onggi is rarely seen in Korea because many koreans live in apartments.
Jeju is an island in Korea and famous for Doldam. Doldam means "stone wall ". There are a lot of stones of bassalt caused by the eruption of a volcano in Jejudo. Therefore, People inJeju have used these black stones for building " Doldam" for a long time. It can also protect houses from strong sea wind. I think the residents in Jeju try to conserve their own heritage, so we can feel that Jejudo has its own characteristics from their traditional lifestyle and natural environment. What I show you is just a house. It's only the tip of the iceberg. I'd like to say that there are many attractions in Jeju. So I want to introduce you more about Jejudo some day.
