Well, when I am on holiday, I certainly do not count every penny. But £30 admission per person for a viewing platform is out of every question. When I had been to London last time, we decided to visit the viewing platform of the near Monument instead. Admission was £2 or £3 as I remember and the view was excellent there!
nope! there is no other River on the left. there is no 1 WTC building , No citi corp bldg. no central park, no New York insurance company bldg. no Crysler bldg. no FDR drive and def no Empire state bldg. if this was a view from wtc old and new buildings. these bldgs would align each other. the UN alighned with queens . you have to check out a view of NYC from WTC in the 90's and the millenium. so different.
Am from the Empire State of New-York U.S.A. Let me just say, am a bit jealous. The Shard is sooo beautiful. Well done London!! I will visit! The Shard is tall, mixed use, interesting to the eye. And it will be Iconic! This skyscraper will add tons of character to the London Sky Line. Here in NYC every time a developer comes up with something breath taking. The "Liberal Dem Hordes" come out of the wood works to say... It's too tall?? Or it doesn't add anything to the community??? We don't want it, to be taller than building "A" for some asinine reason??? A modern city must grow and leap into the future. Not prevent it from happening. London Wow!
Oh am not a fan of those super skinny condos near the park. But like I said before There are soo many restriction on air rights in NYC. So developers and architects . Can't really create any thing truly spectacular. {Like my new favorite skyscraper in the world the Shard!} London is doing what we should be doing. Having a great mix of the old and new springing up from the past. Space, regulations and property taxes are killing our boom. So now they have come up with a new super-super skinny for Mid-Town. A radical new design, they have unofficially called the Big-Bend.... What do you think?
As someone who has grown up with white wind turbine farms thingies, I just don't get how people can call them an eyesore. The same goes for electricity pylons, and buildings like these. If you actually look at the very top, there are two shards that stick out beyond the rest, and you could imagine the eye of Sauron appearing between them.
Fun fact : the building was named by a building in a game named Mirrors edge, the building name is The shard like this building and Mirrors edge was released in 2008!
Interesting how you visit it at daytime and see the city view at nightime, even if only on a screen. I'd go there on the late afternoon, watch the sunset, then a bit of chilling nightime viewing. London at night is possibly the best looking city in the world for me.
The Shard looks amazing to me. I have learnt that it is a mixed-use skyscraper with offices, hotels, and flats. Does anyone know how much square metres of office space is there in the building?
If you’re still interested, I’m pretty sure the building has some 3 million square meters, which is extremely impressive for its height and floor count
Ive been up the Empire State Building which 1.250 ft & the Shard which is something like a 1000 ft & there did'nt seem to be much difference, both amazing views though !!!
Pretty expensive admission fee for a viewing platform over the city. If you get a window seat on a plane approaching LHR on a clear day heading Westbound, you can get some really stunning views over our nation's capital, possibility even better than from the Shard and for free.
Because it's a radical, iconic and a beautiful new design and overlooks the very heart of London. The height isn't what makes it impressive, it's just what draws your attention to it pretty much wherever you are in the city
you can actually see it from London bridge train station it is very interesting researching the shard on the computer or a book oh yes i do love researching the shard
It isn't. It's probably the fact that it's the tallest building in the capital and biggest city of one of the world's most famous nations. Even Bangkok, Thailand has a skyscraper nearly as tall (at 304 meters, only 2 meters behind The Shard) as early as 1997. This building is really nothing too special. Except, of course, its *extremely* beautiful design. This glass structure is one of the most beautiful structures ever built, my opinion.
Toronto's CN tower has been the tallest free standing structure for over 34 years standing at 553.5 meters, I don't see how the shard is impressive in any regards at all...
They charge a fortune £25 per head, I think it is a disgrace and there is no residents discount, after all the disruption that residents had to go through.
Only problem is that the price for the ticket to get up there is like £29.95, which is way to much for me, a poor student. They don't have student discount!
Fabulous building. Looking forward to experiencing the views from the observations decks. In my opinion I think it is important for London, and in turn the UK, to be building such structures, not only as a sign of economic power but also as indicators of imagination and creativity.
Damian De There is no outside viewing area. Just looking through glass and workers trying to get your money by asking you to give them $15 for an Ipad so you know what things are and I'm just like leave me alone and let me look outside and enjoy the view

Once 22 Bishopgate is constructed you can get the view of London from a similar height but for free..
What's the fare for a night Thames cruise?
Markus Duesseldorf the toilet on the shard was so epic it was totally worth it. I recommend to everybody.
We patted $85 to get to empire state buildings top
Well said... I have been up there and It is def. Not worth the money!(I didn't pay)
"you can hear the sound of London" yep , police sirens in the background , how can it not be London
Not the Illuminati???... Christ almighty.
Oh, 'Illuminanti' sorry, I've only jus saw that, soz. Lol me
;)
Joe Morris could be new york
nope! there is no other River on the left. there is no 1 WTC building , No citi corp bldg. no central park, no New York insurance company bldg. no Crysler bldg. no FDR drive and def no Empire state bldg. if this was a view from wtc old and new buildings. these bldgs would align each other. the UN alighned with queens . you have to check out a view of NYC from WTC in the 90's and the millenium. so different.

KiddGalaxxy them new skinny convos in plan for midtown Manhattan look really stupid. don't you agree?

You’re right. NYC is getting too brave and extreme with these thin skyscrapers which most likely are empty
I've been in that building. there's only 2 lifts and they go so fast it feels like ur not even moving
As someone who has grown up with white wind turbine farms thingies, I just don't get how people can call them an eyesore. The same goes for electricity pylons, and buildings like these.

Ladies and gentlemen: The Eye of Sauron is no longer fiction.
Interesting how you visit it at daytime and see the city view at nightime, even if only on a screen. I'd go there on the late afternoon, watch the sunset, then a bit of chilling nightime viewing. London at night is possibly the best looking city in the world for me.
2:55 he did not just say that? did he?
Oh, he did, trust me. He did.
Colossus In that case where is 32, Smith Square?
#AccidentalPartridge
He said it! Its a shame
@@TH-kt5ir really the UK is white supremacist
I wonder how many binoculars are trained on that loo.
The building is so pretty! We've made a similar short film on it as well!
Love you London
i have walked past the shard when i was on my way to the diamond jubilee
The Shard looks amazing to me. I have learnt that it is a mixed-use skyscraper with offices, hotels, and flats. Does anyone know how much square metres of office space is there in the building?

I miss London so much. I hope I end up there again at some point.
ME TOO
Ive been up the Empire State Building which 1.250 ft & the Shard which is something like a 1000 ft & there did'nt seem to be much difference, both amazing views though !!!
Cheers for London !!

Keith Appanah I agree 😂
cant wait to go and see this next week on Friday :)
Because it's a radical, iconic and a beautiful new design and overlooks the very heart of London. The height isn't what makes it impressive, it's just what draws your attention to it pretty much wherever you are in the city
Yeah, we all know level 69 is the best level to be on. Looolll!!! Soz, jus had to.
NunyVanstta135 😂

Nice
That's not a skyscraper. It's a Gigantamax Duraludon.
This video makes me homesick
4:06 - You can hear the sounds of London-and a random person about the get arrested. XD
4:06
He didnt have his Londoning license
DAMN that building looks cool!
Wow! I really MUST use that loo!
I went up there yesterday. So worth it.
Amazing video, Thank you. Really impressive building! WOW!!!
fun fact: The Shard is the same size as Millennium Force at cedar point
it costs £30 to do this bit steep eh ! tourists wont be put off though
Great! Now I'll have to visit London again! :-]
You just got out of London Bridge station in the thumbnail right?
I've noticed that too.
I've been up the shard with my cousin before
the toilet on the shard was so epic it was totally worth it. I recommend to everybody.
I love this. I'm going to the Shard tomorrow, but I don't like heights or lifts. I'm excited anyway. :)
I be on the top of Shard and is so cool!
I'll be there soon, is it worth visiting?
@Peepguy Lmfao
Yes but it’s so expensive. I live in London but damn this was too much money
DEFINITELY
Too right comrade.
1:37 nice
I live in south east london and the shard looks pretty from my house ngl
I went there yesterday it was great
Shard is amazing ❤️
Superb review - well done!! Can't wait to go up here but pricy!
I luv Mirrors edge Catalyst, but i knew of this Shard long before!
What is that building built for?
I’m going up there for lunch tomorrow and I’m trying to get over my fear of heights
What an eyesore
Excellent video. BTW the highest observation deck in western Europe is that of the Eiffel Tower at 281m
Thanks
you can actually see it from London bridge train station it is very interesting researching the shard on the computer or a book oh yes i do love researching the shard
This is pretty cool.
BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now the tallest in Europe Varso Tower
Woah, it’s a gigantamax Duraludon!
Is it possible to use a tripod?
Im making an animated short based on the shard :-)
The tallest building in Europe is the Mercury city tower in Russia 338 m and its soon about to be the federation tower 373 m
+Dhruv S. You tell them haha :)
He did said Western Europe, but indeed those are the tallest buildings in the whole of Europe.
LISTEN! He said Europe! Russia is not in Europe.
Moscow is in Europe. Get it right.
+Dhru vS I live in Malmo Sweden,, in my city we have the tallest building in Scandinavia called Turning Torso 190m/620feet
Im going up there in 2 weeks !
Can anyone go there or its not open to public?
Impressive Build
Amazing
wow fabulous
I went to the top yesterday
Happy birthday Miranda, from the shard in London, missing you, loving your FACE
Dat bathroom tho
Luke Barry Yes....that would be such a great place for a poo. With that view, no need for any reading material either!
Mission Complete: The Shard
750 Experience
I remember going up there
so the main Shard room has a sweet view, but the shart room has an even better view?
WOW BREATHTAKINGLY BEAUTIFUL. I want to go to London some day.
Very nice.
Need to pay to go up there? How much?
Really great and marvoles

Simple design
Londoners don't like cramped skyscrapers, it was seen when American Cities got really tall people just like to have a garden in Britain.
Who else Listening The shard Soundtrack from Mirror's Edge while Watching this?
Enjoy it while it can to be honest its not going to last long.
Bro is this Mirror's Edge!?!?!?!?!
Let's go, Faith! It's time to save your sister, Kate!
I have bin in it it was asome

Still less expensive than going to the 102nd floor of the Empire State Building...
Such a Beautiful Bldg inLondon,I wanna visit London so Bad,But I’m scared 2 Fly,I’m afraid Of Heights
Am i the only one that laughed at "Fast lift!"?
I like your video because when you went upstairs it had lost of stairs from Rayaan
Only problem is that the price for the ticket to get up there is like £29.95, which is way to much for me, a poor student. They don't have student discount!
Ahaha that's cheap it's 80 pounds now
How much for a ride at the top?
New York has only 9 buildings taller than 306 meter
I wonder what it's like to climb the stairs to this.
Fabulous building. Looking forward to experiencing the views from the observations decks. In my opinion I think it is important for London, and in turn the UK, to be building such structures, not only as a sign of economic power but also as indicators of imagination and creativity.
Look where we are now... 🤔
that won't be the last tallest skyscraper they construct.
Nutter, so is every tall building in the world !
Students have plenty of free time...
it just looks out of place and like it wont withstand centuries like tower bridge or other real landmarks
This is the futre
Mirror's Edge
TraNe Yeah!
Imagine if the last level in Mirrors Edge was the real life Shard (it looks very hard to break into)
The future..
You should’ve seen the way I hit it in the shaaaaarddd ☔️
Look up "CN Tower glass floor" it's in Toronto, you can stand on a glass and look down lol
240p video? Come on!!
It's nothing like The Shard from Mirrors Edge!
That's just plain stupid to make all that effort to go up there, pay the £26 and then look at the view through a fu***ng LCD screen!
1 WTC observation deck in NY is a lot worse if you think of it like that.
ScarySpiDer3 How come? Is there no windows? lol
Damian De There is no outside viewing area. Just looking through glass and workers trying to get your money by asking you to give them $15 for an Ipad so you know what things are and I'm just like leave me alone and let me look outside and enjoy the view
