Thank you! Yeah Ultramax is my cheap go to but Acros II is up there for B&W. I have a full video of Kodak Ektachrome 5071 on my channel if you're interested. Thanks for watching!
Love the side by side comparisons on your channel, dude! Thank you for putting in that work! I’d be interested to see Vision 3 50D and Cinestill 50D side by side as they are the same film just minus the remjet layer on the Cinestill, and I’d be curious to see the Lomo 800 and the Kodak Gold 800 as many say they are also the same film. Also been hearing the new Fuji c200 and Kodak Gold 200 are the same film these days because of production changes. Food for thought!
Thanks for the comment and great feedback! These are great suggestions. I think first impression reactions to a few of these are: I have found that Vision3 is a bit more vibrant or saturated than what I've gotten back from Cinestill 50D. Not sure if it's the removal of remjet or not. I think I have a few comparisons (like 5 or 6 shots) but I feel like I'd need to test more before sharing or coming to a conclusion. I love Lomo 800 it has such a lovely look. I do have a disposable lying around so I should do that test. It might be a little hard to tell the difference from a plastic lens vs a nicer camera. Maybe if I shoot on my Olympus XA2 it'd be the most similar. Yeah I've heard that about Gold 200 and Fuji 200. I haven't done any side by side shots between these two but definitely worth a look. From what I can see in my photos now the Gold 200 seems to lean more into those yellows and golden browns etc vs the new Fuji 200 still feels like it handles greens in the Fuji way but not as great as the C200 did. I will have to test that. Thanks again for watching!
Just stopping by for like, the 30th time. I really enjoy this series - even though I don't even shoot film - and I think this is my favorite of the series. The words you said at 0:33 are just burned into my mind after all these rewatches. I think it's an incredibly powerful philosophy that has honestly shifted my entire feelings on photography and what I ought to point my camera at.
Hey Mick! Thank you so much for the kind comments. I'm glad you have found this video so impactful to your own photography. I often try to reevaluate why I'm doing it and I think the beauty of the art form of photography is it can do so many things, be a reflection on human nature, be a time machine, allow us to see other cultures or see the seasonality of life. Not sure if you saw my IG story but this video means even more to me now because the park just removed this fishing pier. I'm not sure if it has to do with it being old or the lake levels going down but I'm both sad and grateful I spent so much time documenting it. Thanks again for your thoughtful comments.
What a great idea for a video. Always like Fujifilm Acros II and Kodak Ultramax 400 on these photos, but thought Ektrachrome 5071 was interesting.

This is great reference material and very insightful sharing of your passion for film, well done!
Thanks Patrick! Glad you enjoyed it. I’m always curious how it will look in different films and just kept going back haha.
I like Ortho Plus 80 and Portra 400
very interesting. I also have a lake pier for my tests
Nice! They are always a great spot to photograph. We as humans seem to be drawn to the water.
INTERESTING, THANKS FOR SHARING.
