Amazing, blown away by the sustained power and the sheer magnificent speed. I had no idea that the cox's spine extended and compressed like that. Props to all.
Fun to see what we’re seeing inside the boat right?
OMG it makes me want to row again. But my water rowing days are over a decade behind me. Great form Shane. The erging really pays off. The power and the beauty! ❤
Haha, same mate:) If I only had more free time I would sign to some local masters rowing group:)
Could we get a video with an explanation of some of the commands from the cox and with you? I think that could be quite interesting. 🙂 Amazing to see this great effort. Wow !
Fantastic race Shane! Congratulation to you all and a special mention to your cox as well. It will be really interesting to know about all the command she gave you. This is really inspiring.
Thank you and YES, she's an amazing coxswain. It's fun to be able to bring you guys the commentary from inside the boat.
I’ve been rowing machine for like half a year, this video makes me want to try row in real water to
Congratulations! Awesome row. Thanks for posting the video. Makes me want to try to row on water too.
That was really awesome! Thanks for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Beautiful course. Made me want to row! 😁
You should!
Fantastic team effort guys. Thanks for posting. Love to hear the cox’s coaching
Glad you enjoyed it
Very powerful! It clearly shows the strength needed to do this.
Very welcoming club. Did a guest row in 2023 and they were very gracious.
We try to be a good home away from home
Very neat! I just row on my erg but nice to see a race! Maybe someday 😅
It'll always be there :)
So confused w this view. The cox has her back to the rowers or is this a split screen? I thought the cox faces the rowers because how could they be giving commands if they can’t see the rowers. Sorry, just confused by distortion in the shot.
You are seeing it correctly. In a 4, they are typically set up with what is called a "Bow Loader" meaning the coxswain lays inside the shell and faces forward in the bow, while the rowers face their usual direction behind here. In an 8+, the coxswain does sit in the stern face to face with the first/last rower called the stroke seat
@@DarkHorseRowing crazy, I had no idea. Thank you for the explanation and reply. :-)
That was incredible to watch. Do you have to be tall to row? I’m 5”8 😅.
No! Any height works, you just have to want to be a good technician and get fit
How do you see where to steer? Lots of curves in that map
Can you see the cox lying down in the bow?
@ oh I see now. Thanks
@@daviddurden9327 Looks pretty uncomfortable!
Ha! Those bow loader coxswains positions are not built for comfort, that's for sure
How on earth does the cox know what to tell you?? I mean, she’s obviously excellent at this, but…well, I guess I need to study on-water more. This is amazing! Thanks for sharing, Shane! More of this, please!
Also, how can you hear your cox? Is she wearing some kind of amplification? I’d think the rower farthest away (not sure of the correct term, sorry) would have a hard time hearing over all the noise.
Yes she has a microphone and there are speakers down inside the boat.
What is with you US guys and yards. Use meters.
Nice to lower yourself to share . . .
Not sure I understand?
