Those are some very meaty squirrels. If you aren't cleaning and eating them, you should give it a try. Top tip: After cleaning, store in fridge for about a week before eating. The aging does wonders for the texture and flavor. If you are new to eating them, try pan-frying in shallow oil first.

Many years ago when I lived in Colorado, I would hunt tree squirrels. They are very good eating.

Hmmm, you have to figure out a way to ‘put squirrel on the menu’ in England. That might put a dent in the population and put money in the pockets of sporting young gentlemen and ladies .
Some slo-mo and tracer pellets would be a good addition to your footage. Just a suggestion.

hi there, great video,love those woods, looks very peaceful, there is a guy on another channel in the U,S, that sets up a dinner for one and uses 9mm tracer pellets to blast the blighters, seems to work very well, the squirrel sits in the chair and starts eating then its game over

Grey squirrels were introduced from America and they carry a disease (squirrel parapox virus) which they are immune to but which kills our native red squirrels. Greys also predate birds nests and strip bark from our high value trees unlike our reds. They are shot to preserve our dwindling stocks of reds, to conserve bird life and to prevent forestry being rendered useless. In the UK they are not commonly eaten but some folk really like them.

Howdy. I'm from New Zealand so no Squirrels here. How are they a Pest?
In short they raid song bird nests, strip trees of bark causing damage and are a danger to our native red squirrel.
they also can get into your roof and live in your house.
And they have killed off most of the red squirrels in England
Always a hit at parties. Squirrel hunting vids are my favorites..

Thank you Sue. As for the jay there aren't too many there so the farmer asks me to leave them be. I'm happy to do so.
I’m still is using my BSA R10 SE in .177. Keep up the good work in conservation, grey squirrels cause so much harm. I wish people in towns and cities would listen to us and begin to understand the problems these squirrels are continually causing. JC

They’re both as good as each other. I couldn’t ever choose between them.
The only things missing is a slow motion shot and some upbeat music for them when they start break dancing on the floor.

They are an invasive pest and should be controlled to protect the Red Squirrel.

Population estimate in early 1990's was 2.5 million, estimate at present close to 10 million. Research by the gwct and I think woodland trust found they are now suppressing songbird fledging by a minimum 15%.

It wasn`t in its own environment. Grey squirrels are an invasive species in the UK that carry a virus which is deadly to our native red squirrels.

I've been getting out here lately our season just came in in Kentucky squirrels are cutting on hickory nuts right now and oak tree's I've put a few in the freezer we've had a cold front move in and now the hot weather is fixing to move in so I'll have to give them a break until it cools back down. All my feeders are quiet, but be busy once all natures bounty has gone.
