  • “The Origins of the Austronesians” Book launch - 17th Aug. 2021
    2021年8月17日舉辦《南島起源》新書發表記者會
    著名語言學者白樂思於《南島起源》新書發表會預錄致詞
The UNESCO announced 2019 as the “International Year of Indigenous Languages.” Within the “Global Cooperation and Training Framework”(GCTF), Taiwan, the Unites States, Japan, and Palau cooperated and held this “International Austronesian Languages Revitalization Forum” in Palau, hoping that the governments of all countries should review and fulfill their pledge to actively revive, preserve and sustain indigenous languages. What we achieved in this forum may start Taiwan’s connection to all Austronesian-speaking peoples. Thus, in this compilation of the forum, the views from scholars and specialists of archaeology, genetics, linguistics and other perspectives are brought together to discuss the theories of Austronesian origin and to share the language revitalization experiences from different countries.

This is very important update and development in our history. Philippines history books taught us that our origins came from Negritos who walked by land bridges. Later on when sea was rising, people from Indonesia and Malay by boats arrived and settled here.

It is really wrong to say that Filipinos are from Borneo. Because of the taiwan and laguna copper plate and because of the age of its discovery in the philippines and the human bone in luzon. and this is the oldest year of the discovery. It is older than those discovered in indonesia and malaysia. the truth is the indonesians and malaysian and bruneian are from the philippines. On the island of the Philippines. Because the Filipino's ancestor is from the native people of Taiwan

taiwan holds many austronesian languages that are so complex enough that their differences would only be able to be explained if there were there so long ago and had that much time to evolve to be that different from each other even tho they are near to each other on the same island. other lands where there are austronesian languages only show less complex differences from each other. the anthropological artifacts and geneological data also later was found to further reinforce its likelihood.

      3) It’s not about the numbers of tribes and languages if you have basic information about linguistics there were few types of languages developed in earlier, also greater differences from each other we talk about the diversity of the origin of the Austronesian language group to find the birthplace
