Hi @tech-pv5iv,
It looks like you're encountering an issue with the `vmwarebase.dll` file while trying to apply the patch. Here are a few steps you can try to resolve this:
1. **Run as Administrator**: Make sure you are running the patch tool as an administrator. Right-click on the patch tool and select "Run as administrator"¹.
2. **Close VMware Services**: Ensure that all VMware services are stopped before applying the patch. You can do this by opening Task Manager and ending any VMware-related processes².
3. **Check File Permissions**: Verify that you have the necessary permissions to modify the `vmwarebase.dll` file. You can do this by right-clicking the file, selecting "Properties," and checking the permissions under the "Security" tab³.
4. **Reinstall VMware**: If the above steps don't work, try reinstalling VMware Workstation. This can replace any corrupted files and ensure that all necessary components are correctly installed⁴.
I hope these steps help you resolve the issue! If you need further assistance, feel free to ask.
Best of luck! 😊

It sounds like you're encountering a kernel panic while trying to install macOS Sonoma on VMware. This issue can be quite frustrating, but there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve it:
1. **Check Compatibility**: Ensure that your hardware and VMware version are compatible with macOS Sonoma. Sometimes, older versions of VMware or unsupported hardware can cause issues.
2. **Update VMware Tools**: Make sure you have the latest version of VMware Tools installed. This can help with compatibility and stability.
3. **Patch VMware**: Use tools like Auto Unlocker to patch VMware, enabling macOS installation. This step is crucial for bypassing restrictions that prevent macOS from running on non-Apple hardware¹².
4. **Configure VM Settings**:
- Allocate sufficient resources (RAM, CPU cores) to the virtual machine.
- Enable virtualization in your BIOS/UEFI settings.
- Add the following lines to your VMX configuration file to help with compatibility:
```
smc.version = "0"
hw.model.reflectHost = "FALSE"
hw.model = "iMacPro1,1"
serialNumber.reflectHost = "FALSE"
serialNumber = "YOUR_SERIAL_NUMBER"
efi.nvram.var.ROM.reflectHost = "FALSE"
efi.nvram.var.MLB.reflectHost = "FALSE"
efi.nvram.var.ROM = "YOUR_ROM"
efi.nvram.var.MLB = "YOUR_MLB"
```
5. **Boot in Safe Mode**: Try booting your macOS VM in Safe Mode by holding the Shift key during startup. This can help isolate software issues⁵.
6. **Reset NVRAM/PRAM and SMC**: Resetting these can resolve many macOS issues. For NVRAM/PRAM, hold down Option + Command + P + R keys during startup. For SMC, the process varies depending on your Mac model⁷.
7. **Check Logs**: Look at the kernel panic logs located in `/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports/` to identify the cause of the crash⁴.
8. **Reinstall macOS**: If all else fails, you might need to erase the virtual disk and reinstall macOS Sonoma⁵.
Feel free to ask if you have any more questions or need further assistance! 😊

Im confused, do people with intel need to paste any commands? You have a section for AMD and a section above, but you never used the section above for anything? Is the section above supposed to be for intel users or do they just not need to paste any commands?
Nevermind for anyone wondering, you don’t need to paste those commands, intel just works by default
@BBhop
Apologies for any confusion. Let me clarify: The first set of commands is used to assign a unique serial number to the virtual machine, allowing us to use services like iCloud. The next section is specifically for AMD-based devices, enabling us to disguise them as Intel-based ones. This is necessary because Apple operating systems and AMD CPUs are not very compatible with each other. I hope this answers your question if yes hit the subscribe button and help my channel grow :)

I searched online and I found these troubleshooting steps, I can't produce the issue so unfortunately I don't know which step would help exactly for sure try the following:
1. **Check VMware Workstation Log**:
- First, check the VMware Workstation log for any clues. It might provide insights into what's causing the boot loop.
- Look for any error messages or warnings related to the virtual machine startup.
- If you find any relevant information, address it accordingly.
2. **macOS Unlocker**:
- Ensure that you have the latest version of **macOS Unlocker** installed. This tool is essential for running macOS on non-Apple hardware.
- If you haven't already, download the latest version of macOS Unlocker and apply it to your VMware installation.
- You can find macOS Unlocker on the [TechLabs blog](techlabs.blog/categories/guides/solved-macos-vmware-virtual-machine-wont-start-stuck-in-a-boot-loop) ¹.
3. **Virtual Machine Settings**:
- Double-check your virtual machine settings:
- **CPU**: Make sure you're not allocating too many CPUs. Start with one and gradually increase if needed.
- **RAM**: Allocate sufficient RAM to the virtual machine. macOS requires a decent amount of memory.
- **Network Adapter**: Ensure that the network adapter is configured correctly.
- **Graphics**: Set the graphics controller to **VMware SVGA II** for better compatibility.
4. **Kernel Extensions (KEXTs)**:
- macOS Sonoma (and other recent macOS versions) has stricter security measures regarding kernel extensions.
- When modifying the `vmx` file, avoid adding or enabling any custom KEXTs unless you're certain they are compatible.
- If you've added any custom KEXTs, try disabling them and see if the boot loop persists.
5. **System Integrity Protection (SIP)**:
- SIP prevents unauthorized modifications to system files and directories.
- If you've disabled SIP, consider enabling it temporarily to see if it affects the boot behavior.
- To disable SIP, boot into recovery mode and open Terminal. Execute the command: `csrutil enable`.
6. **Boot Flags**:
- Experiment with different boot flags in the `vmx` file. Some common ones include:
- `dart=0`: Disables Direct Accelerated Graphics.
- `cpuid.1.eax = "0000:0000:0000:0001:0000:0110:1010:0101"`: Emulates a Haswell CPU.
- `smc.version = "0"`: Disables SMC (System Management Controller).
- Add these flags one at a time and test the boot process.

I cant get the VM to start with this setup on my AMD Ryzen 9 7900X.
I ended up having to change "virtualHW.version" down to 15, from 21, and now the installer actually launches and installs. I dont get why I had to change this though.
However after the install, it just boot loops. I have tried everything I have found online, but I just cant get this to boot.
Hi @JB-NZ! It sounds like you’ve been through quite a bit trying to get this setup working. Changing the “virtualHW.version” to 15 might be necessary due to compatibility issues with your AMD Ryzen 9 7900X. Sometimes, newer hardware versions can cause unexpected problems with virtual machines.
As for the boot loop after installation, here are a few things you could try:
Check Compatibility: Ensure that macOS Sonoma 14 is fully compatible with your hardware and the version of VMware you’re using.
Update VMware: Make sure you have the latest version of VMware and any necessary patches or updates.
Adjust Settings: Double-check your VM settings, such as CPU and RAM allocation, and ensure they meet the requirements for macOS.
Consult Forums: Sometimes, specific hardware configurations require unique tweaks. Checking forums or communities dedicated to macOS on VMware might provide some insights.

VMware Compatibility Guide: Visit the VMware Compatibility Guide and search for your specific CPU model to see if it’s officially supported.
macOS Compatibility: Check the official macOS Sonoma 14 system requirements on Apple’s website to ensure your hardware meets the necessary specifications.
Community Forums: Look for discussions in forums like InsanelyMac or tonymacx86 where users share their experiences and solutions for running macOS on various hardware configurations.
VMware Settings: Ensure that your VMware settings are optimized for macOS. This includes setting the correct guest OS type, enabling virtualization in your BIOS, and allocating sufficient resources (CPU, RAM, etc.).
Update Drivers and Firmware: Make sure your system’s BIOS/UEFI firmware and drivers are up to date, as outdated firmware can sometimes cause compatibility issues.

Hey mate, good stuffs but i was not able to install VMware tools. i get a error massage saying (could not find component on update server. Contact VMware support or your system administrator.) do you know anything about this?
Certainly! If you're encountering the "Could not find component on update server" error while trying to download VMware Tools, here are some steps you can take to resolve the issue:
1. **Download VMware Tools Manually**:
- Instead of using the built-in installation button within the VM, try downloading VMware Tools directly from the VMware website.
- Visit the [VMware Tools download page](packages.vmware.com/tools/releases/latest/windows/x64/) (choose the appropriate folder for your OS, if different).
- Download the latest version of VMware Tools for Windows x64.
2. **Install VMware Tools from the VM Menu**:
- Power on your VM in **windowed mode** (not full-screen).
- Once the VM is up and running, go to the VM menu (usually at the top of the VM window).
- Select **"Install VMware Tools"** from the menu.
- Follow the prompts to install VMware Tools.
3. **Restart the VM**:
- After installing VMware Tools, restart your VM to ensure everything is in sync.
Remember to close the VM before installing VMware Tools to avoid any conflicts. If you encounter any further issues, feel free to ask for additional assistance! 😊
@@EpidemicTutorials-qh6de it work for me now, thank mate really appreciate your help.

doesnt work on amd
errors?
it is very slow and glitchy i got 16 gb ram and i5 12500H processor
Try the following and let me know if this helped:
1. **Increase Video Memory (VRAM)**:
- By default, macOS VMs may not have optimal video memory settings. You can increase the video memory (VRAM) allocated to your VM.
- Edit the virtual machine configuration `.vmx` file and change the `svga.vram` settings. Set it to a higher value (e.g., 512MB or more).
- Refer to this guide for detailed steps: [Increase video memory VRAM for a macOS Virtual Machine](techlabs.blog/categories/guides/solved-increase-video-memory-vram-for-a-macos-virtual-machine-running-on-vmware-workstation).
2. **Allocate Adequate Resources**:
- Ensure that your VM has sufficient RAM and CPU cores allocated. Adjust these settings based on your host machine's specifications.
- Consider increasing the RAM if possible.
3. **Disable Unnecessary Services**:
- Disable any unnecessary services or background processes within the macOS VM.
- Check for resource-intensive applications running inside the VM.
4. **Use an SSD**:
- If your VM is running from a traditional hard disk drive (HDD), consider using an SSD for better performance.
- SSDs provide faster read/write speeds and improve overall VM responsiveness.
5. **Disable Animations and Transparency**:
- macOS animations and transparency effects can impact performance.
- Disable unnecessary visual effects in the macOS settings to improve responsiveness.
6. **Install VMware Tools for macOS**:
- VMware Tools provides essential drivers and optimizations for better performance.
- Install VMware Tools within the macOS VM to enhance integration and performance.
7. **Enable Intel VT-x or AMD-V**:
- Ensure that hardware virtualization (VT-x or AMD-V) is enabled in your host system's BIOS settings.
- Hardware virtualization improves VM performance significantly.
8. **Avoid Scanning VM with Antivirus**:
- Some antivirus scans can impact VM performance.
- Exclude the VM files from real-time scanning to avoid unnecessary resource usage.
9. **Use a Single VM Instead of Multiple VMs Simultaneously**:
- Running multiple VMs simultaneously can strain system resources.
- Consider using one VM at a time to improve performance.
10. **Upgrade Hardware or Get a High-end PC**:
- If possible, consider upgrading your host machine's hardware (CPU, RAM, SSD) for better VM performance.
- A high-end PC with ample resources will provide a smoother experience.

@@EpidemicTutorials-qh6de
I would be grateful if you could create a tutorial video on how to run iMovie and garageband on VMware on Windows.
The CPU has been disabled by the guest operating system. Power off or reset the virtual machine.
1. **Change VM Hardware Compatibility to 10.x**:
- Open the `.vmx` file of your virtual machine (you can find it in the directory where the VM is saved).
- Add the following line at the end of the file:
```
cpuid.0.eax = "0000:0000:0000:0000:0000:0000:0000:1011"
- Save the file and restart the virtual machine.
2. **Enable Virtualization in BIOS**:
- Ensure that virtualization (VT-x or AMD-V) is enabled in your computer's BIOS settings.
- Restart your computer and access the BIOS settings (usually by pressing a key like F2, F12, or Delete during boot).
- Look for virtualization-related options and enable them if they are disabled.
These steps should help you resolve the issue and allow you to install macOS Sonoma on VMware. If you encounter any further problems, feel free to ask!
