ive been using this for a few days in NYC i haven't had any problems once I put it in. Our roads and sidewalks are terrible. I haven't mastered this smart drive yet but the bar holds up.
Great! My armpower is limited by poor shoulder power by an accidental surgery. Do you think it might be good for me, too? Thanks for any answer! Be blessed!
This mount in particular always falls off of a folding wheelchair. Not recommended! They have a stronger bar mount also but it too falls off! Also if you bump into something the Smart Drive keeps going and folds up under your chair! You need another person to get it out. And don't forget to hold it up if your being bumped down a curb or it will fold under again. It once fell off while on a carpeted cruise ship ramp! Not equipment for independent use. And if someone is pushing you it gets in the way of their feet. Other than that it is a great invention but only for rigid chair users and mostly children or high level quads.
I've been using this forever and it's only fallen off when the bars are not screwed in well. You have to keep an eye on this or you will be stuck holding this in your lap pushing yourself around. But properly maintained, it hasn't fallen off for me at all.
I have a manual, folding quickie 2. As asked before, can you just take off the smart drive and leave the bar? Does the bar have to be taken off each time the chair is folded and put into your car? Seems like a problem if the bar has to come off each time the chair is folded and put into your car and then reinstalled when you take your chair out. Also how do I attach the bar to my chair? Has any improvements been made since Kate Abels left her review 2 years ago? Surely Max Mobility can address some of these questions. Thank you to anyone who has any answers.
Nina Rivera You can take off the SmartDrive from the bar but as shown in the video, it is not a mere matter of lifting the SmartDrive off the bar. You have to unscrew it from the bar. And as the other commenter said, you have to remove the bar to fold the wheelchair.
Once you attach the bar. You don't take it off. When folding your wheelchair, take it off by pushing in the springs. I recommend only carrying by the handle and not just the bar. The handle can handle it. Then when you are ready to use use your wheelchair again. Once it's put together correctly. Then put your power assist on 1 side at a time as shown. Then attach the powered controller cord to the power assist. Then turn it on. I also have a Quickie 2 wheelchair
Not if you want to be able to fold the wheelchair, and of the two, taking the whole assembly off the chair in one piece is going to be easier and take a lot less time and effort than attaching and detaching the SmartDrive unit to and from adapter bar.
simplement par politesse, vous auriez pu me remercier de vous avoir donner l'idée d'adapter une barre entre les deux axes, mais je ne vous en veut pas...😀
Why do you have to screw the SmartDrive onto this type of attachment, but you only have to lift the SmartDrive and hook it onto the attachment for rigid wheelchairs? Having to unscrew it from the folding attachment is more of a bother since many wheelchair users would rather keep the attachment on the wheelchair unless the wheelchair will be folded. And having the SmartDrive hooked to the bar while it is in the charger, while more convenient does not look attractive.
i was checking the mailbox yesteraay and I had Teddybears my service dogs water bottle with me and my smart drive fell of my wheelchair twcie so I had to fi it then I went up the ramp with my smart drive an it turned its self on and I was crusing in mys mart drive ad then I ended up crshing into the mailbox not knowing the bluetooh on my push tracker was on and when teddybears Iand i got to the mailbox and crashed into the mailbox the smart drive fell off

The music is loud enough to interfear with the description. Turn it down a bit (of off completely!)
Should the inserts go over the axle? I have a .5 inch axle and the insert does not fit over my axle it just rides with a sloppy fit.
Can you use the mounting system with the max1

I would go to their website if you need an answer. There’s a contact number and email address there.
