One thing I recently started doing with the clothing template is print out, put ina picture frame, then when I measure item use a marker to write the measures on the glass. Put the frame in one of the pictures..and you are ready to list. Wipe off glass and you are ready for next one!
Great tips Dom agree with all. I haven't made templates yet but might need to. I have the light box and I put white photo background paper in it after the background that comes with it is exhausted! Thanks for sharing.
On sell similar, make sure to review the category….some categories like collectibles vs kitchen have a higher eBay fee rate. A set of coffee mugs I sold for $16 got dinged by an eBay fee of $6.70. I should have changed the category from collectibles to dinnerware or something different. Live and learn. I really like your tips Dom.
I always take a batch of items and I take all the pictures, Make a Draft and then when I am ready after doing things in the office, I find it is the fastest I can list about 50 a day.
Awesome. Thanks for this! I could source from sun up to sun down, but listing is another story. And thanks for all that you do on FB. I appreciate all the hard work you put into helping others.
I just want to say ; I watched video after video after video. I finally found your video . Your video was in simple enough terms that I truly understood it and you took the time for explanations . God Bless you and mrs. you are such a great teacher. Keep doing infomative videos because yours is the only one that makes any sense that I’ve viewed ! Thank you again so very much !
Great stuff Prime I do have one suggestion that I discovered in using the same light box. Sometimes the reflections mess up my shots so one day I took the plastic white background out and put it against my piece of foam boards like yours and voila my seam went away as did shadows and I left it there from there on. It works great to get rid of that shadow on the bottom even outside of the light box (which can be small and confining for some objects) along with reflection from the lights above. Just an idea it works good for me. Hope this helps someone
#1 is spot on.....I research 20 things and create my titles in notepad with weight, etc., then photo them all, then sit down with a beer and list :) It is much easier when you have the same type of item at same weight/category, etc. I can fly through those (postcards, records, comics). Sell similar and breeze through them.
I always have a bunch of pre taken photos and box weight included on my phone if i am forced to wait anywhere on anything i can list to kill time it really helps with avoiding the feeling of wasting time when it can be very limited
Good topic! I already do most of them and I'm one of those rare night owls that do my most productive listing late, so that one didn't apply, LOL! I really need to embrace loosing the perfectionism, especially in my photos. The big game changer for me has been utilizing cross listing software. I used to hate cross listing but now I can list on multiple platforms in almost the same amount of time it took me to do one listing! One request though: PLEASE make sure that captions are available on your videos! I don't know if UA-cam changed something bc I have had other channels I watch no longer having captions on many of their videos either. I NEED captions to understand all of your content and you have great stuff to share! I don't want to miss out! Thanks!!
Thanks for making the video. I had no idea of the template shortcut. Thanks again for all your dedication and hard work that you put into your videos. I learn something new on each of your videos. Be well and stay safe.
#5 invest in tech You are the ONLY UA-cam reseller who has addressed this simply and in detail where I don't have to hunt through an hour long video for the info. Thanks! It gives my struggles validity. I'm not crazy!🤣 I take pics on my galaxy s7 phone. I could take only photos but when I go to upload it only let's me upload 1 pic at a time which is maddeningly slow. That's the biggest issue making me the slowest lister on planet earth. I have to list one item at a time and then it allows me to upload 12 pics. Halp. The other thing is that I have a macbook pro laptop and the two devices don't mesh. Where is a 10 year old when I need one???
Sell similar...personal opinion. I struggle using sell similar from someone else’s listing. Many times the person has entered incorrect information and it’s a time waster to have to double check every box. I find it easier to have listing templates versus description templates. Once I figured out how to use it properly it makes things so much easier. As far as lighting...I really need to either change my lighting or find another light for the longer items. There’s always this funky shadow at the bottom of pants and dresses. Batching the types of items as well as the processes were a huge time saver for me! I’ve started batching my unlisted inventory so I can grab items easier to photograph. One other thing I started doing is utilizing a write on/wipe off method for measurements. I printed up a word doc and placed it in a page protector, write in the measurements, snap a photo. It’s the 2nd to last photo in my sequence. My last photo has the bagged item on the scale with my inventory/location number so I have all of the pertinent information within the photos. Hope that helps someone.
I found it again! Yay!! 🎄😊 I always think “I have to get it listed” so do one at a time and I know it takes much longer so have to get out of that mindset! Thanks so much for the reminders and other tips!! I get off work at 4:30 so it’s practically dark lol but still primarily working from home, at least I can list on lunch! Liked and shared, hugs to Daisy and take care! 🐩 😁
Great video. Especially the template feature. That will save me tons of time! I can't believe I didn't know about that, and I've been listing for years. Wow! I look forward to the light box review. Thanks again.
GREAT VIDEO, DOM! Very helpful on all aspects. I found myself discovering some of these tips recently like templates where i would copy and paste pre made texts I set up in my "One Notes". Listing in bunches is another big one I do for taking my photos. Thanks, man!
As I listened to your video, I have learned a lot of similar styles and techniques along the path and have taught them to my employees. I would think of something else you may have missed throughout the video and literally you ended up mentioning all of them! Awesome CONTENT brother. People don’t Liston and forget, use his advice and your eBay sale with go up and up!!!
On Macs, iPhone and iPads you can setup text substitutions in setup. For example, when I enter /dsm it automatically substitutes it for “Ships from Des Moines, Iowa”. I have a series of these setup for common phrases I use when creating listings.
Designate 1 day as draft day, designate 1 day as photo day. Can knock out a ton of listings. Also if you want to stay active on eBay daily, you can hold off on actually listing every single one by keeping it as a saved draft with pictures and list it on draft days where you're doing the research before you've uploaded the photos.
Use "scheduled listings" and you can put in two full days of 'listing" but actually list all week every day or all month- that way the algorithim sees you posting every day
Thank you for the content of this video - I am going to start using templates to speed up my listings. For the majority of the Amazon links the items are currently unavailable so I will have to keep trying them for when items are back in stock.
I've found that what works for me is to pick 10-15 items a day to list and then seperate them into clothes dvds books etc and then photograph them and upload the photos to the PC. I then list 5 at a time split up over the day to break up the monotony of it. Sell similar is great but you have to pay attention incase there are differences or they have the item listed in the wrong category.
good video. I would like to add that I think the thing that helps me list the quickest, is listing straight from my phone. I think you should try it. And on Iphone, you don't need templates. If you type in the first word, the phone basically fills in the rest based on my typing history. I also think the white background sometimes is not needed. I can list most first class items in under 2 minutes. If it is heavier, I usually have to take more time to get the calculated shipping correct.
Thanks. I don’t like listing from the phone though bc it does not have the same features and too many glitches can occur..but if it works best for you then stuck with it
Always make sure you have a SSD hard drive instead of a regular hard drive. Anytime you get or use a computer make sure you get that SSD hard drive. It will speed you up incredibly. And it's very easy to install.
I am curious what you do about knowing what boxes you will use. It takes me time weighing and finding a box to ship item in. Also if I take photos all on my phone whats the quickest way to get it to the computer to list?
I have boxes available to all shapes and sizes and never list something unless I know I have the correct box. There are lots of free boxes you can get at stores or at a workplace, boxes you can order on eBay and amazon, and you can use your promotional eBay store credit for boxes purchases made though ebay's shipping supply store. I use OneDrive to send the photos n my phone to my computer. Saves so much time. Basically, send the photos to a Cloud based service (OneDrive or something else) and then it automatically will be accessible on your computer.
When I search for an item similar to the one I want to sell (to see what price the item sold for), I enter the search term in the same style that I'll use to list the item. For example: "Frankfort Kentucky Capitol Hotel Postcard." Before I search, I'll copy it so I can paste it later as my listing's title. You can't be too specific, of course. I wouldn't type "Frankfort Kentucky Capitol Hotel 1944 Linen Postcard Used" for example, because I might not get many results. But I will add those specifics to my title later. This copying and pasting saves me a lot of time.
Hi Dom, I know this is off-topic of what the video is about, but I do know you do a lot of interviewing videos. I am interested in learning about records and wooden items. And I was wondering if you could get someone on your show that was really good at it and sells them on eBay
Thanks Christina. I’ll have to find a wood person. Did you ever see my interview with Tony Boss on records? Here is the link: ua-cam.com/video/tMjRgQXk_jk/v-deo.html
I agree about having a light box. Started reselling jewelry this year and immediately was annoyed with pics so I got a 24" light box. I love it and am so glad I sized up. It came w different color backgrounds but I just use white.
In the template I have a line for the condition box. So when I load the template I just cut and paste the pre written description into the condition box. Then I copy and paste the title into the description. Also i list all similar items in succession. So like if I am listing 10 items, 5 shirts and 5 jeans I do the jeans first. After listing the first one after it goes live eBay asks you if you want to sell a similar item, click that and go from there. Replacing photos and item specs as needed
I now do research and drafts at the same time while deciding if I want to sell something individually or put in a lot. If I decide to list individually, I have other listings already up to glean keywords, and info someone else knows, but I didn't such as age of item. Like you said work early. I have drafts from the previous day. Start new day and take photos to complete the drafts. List items. Then as the day wears on, I gather more items to do research, and make drafts. Once it hits late afternoon I don't want to take pictures, but am more willing to sit and do research as I can and want to. Wasted too much time taking pictures of something then deciding to put the item in a lot. Then wasted too much time researching to see if I want to list seperatly or not, taking pictures, then doing practically the same research to get keywords, best catagory, and other info if available.
Hate the computer I haven't listed 1 item on it i have only used my phone and the ebay app with thousands of sales under my belt it has been amazing the computer is just to much I can list like 40 to 60 items a day just using the app and with doing that nothing but cha chings all day lol nice video im new to your channel I see ralli roots were watching this so I had to check it out they are the best on UA-cam I think
One thing I recently started doing with the clothing template is print out, put ina picture frame, then when I measure item use a marker to write the measures on the glass. Put the frame in one of the pictures..and you are ready to list. Wipe off glass and you are ready for next one!
Tip: put a lazy Susan or other turntable in the light box to speed up getting all sides of your item
Genius
Great idea!
I saw a great one at a tag sale over the summer. Wish I bought it!
Never knew about the template feature. All the tips are so awesome ❤️ ty
Thank you Maria!
Dead straight on all options mentioned. We do all of those plus a few others that help speed things up. Thanks Dom for the call outs!
My pleasure Don! Thanks for watching!
Agree with your tips! Listing similar items in batches has especially helped me list faster. Thanks for the video!
Thank you Cher!i
Great tips Dom agree with all. I haven't made templates yet but might need to. I have the light box and I put white photo background paper in it after the background that comes with it is exhausted! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Kat! The templates help a ton!
I have a t-shirt that says, "Thrifting without listing is just hoarding".
For a reason!
LOL. One reason I have not gone sourcing in awhile. Been doing lots of listings
After photographing in batches, I weigh all the items and write it down. Then take that list with me while listing.
Yes but I weigh them after they are in the packages
You forgot step 11.... get someone else to do it for ya 😂👍🏻👌🏻 haha 😆 good video bro! My tip is no social media and kick ass music really loud 👊🏻
Spoken like a true pro! LOL thanks mate

Listing in bunches is my go to way to list. So much easier than constantly moving around to list just one item at a time.
So true brother! Thanks for stopping by! Everyone else, go check out his channel!
@@PrimeTimeTreasureHunterthanks for having great content!
Damn, I just wasted another 21 minutes away from listing from watching your video!

I finally bought a really nice light box for pics.....it's AMAZING the difference.
Same brand?
I always have a bunch of pre taken photos and box weight included on my phone if i am forced to wait anywhere on anything i can list to kill time it really helps with avoiding the feeling of wasting time when it can be very limited
Yes, I also do that when I’m on vacation
Great topic and information. I also like to use the copy draft function when I’m listing lots of similar items.
Saves sooo much time

Good info listing by theme does help out the process time a lot!

Thank you for this! I'm still trying to learn how to speed up my listings. Good tips in here! Most important to me is to stop being a perfectionist!
Thank you! Yes, that’s the toughest one for me too! Lol
Thank you for this. I have been looking for ways to speed up.
My pleasure!
I edit my pics on the iphone, usually white background but not always have used darker for light item, you are so smart
I didn't know about the template! Thanks!
Thank you for the content. I am at 1427 and I love the listing part of my Adventure with eBay and other platforms I sell on.
Sure thing!
Thanks for sharing and caring!
The templates!! OH MY GOODNESS WHO KNEW?! 🤯🤯🤯
That should help a ton with jewelry!
Thank you for the template feature especially the bottom where you put the general information. And I like what Ally Roots said - Profit not project!
Very informative. Thank you!
Thanks for the template idea. I had not noticed it, it will speed things up for me.

the templates. Wow. I sell a lot and I actually copy and paste description bodies from previous item and go to the next, and so on. THANKS

Great video.....great topic.....if I was a youtuber I'd be all over wanting to do a show on this topic.
Thanks Carl! Maybe one day you will be a UA-camr!
Love this content! Thanks so much for your info!
