  • Song # 16 - I Want to Give it All - features my favorite bassist, Joel Guarin! This is my only Air Supply favorite, and when I thought of this song, automatically it was Joel who I had in mind. It was one of the songs we both like. Aside from being from the same province, I can never forget how fast our line-up grew in Time and a Half. In a band, I mostly depend on the bass player. I remember coming home from US, and I joined Time and a Half. At that time, they only had 50 songs (freshly formed). Every time we get requests from the audience they normally ask the keyboardist, I enjoy jamming because you learn, you test yourself, and take it as a challenge. And because, performing at Le Boulevardier, Intercon in my earlier band was one of the best places to perform because there were a lot of foreigners and requests! You know what that means, right. We got real good tips, so I got a lot of training. I give all the credit and thank yous' to our Ballet Room and 4-M Room Jamming Sweet Baby and Say You Love Me. Whoever thought, those songs would be my add-ons, and plugins! And this is only possible if you have a good bassist, with a good ear and can follow. Very minimal of me being a Bingo Emcee. TIP for new bands: Try your best to play the song for your audience, even if you only play 4 bars. It will mean alot to them and they will come back again to watch you. BUT!!! There are exceptions to that. No One Moment in Time, Power of Love, and Chiquitita. Haha. It's always a nice feeling to recall how you started. I was also a big fan of SMASH Band! I would be so happy when they sang my song, I clapped hard. That is our consolation, since Gillespies at Edsa Plaza Shangrila Hotel, and Strumms, Versomina - tips are unusual. haha.
We had 50 songs in September of 1993, and I left the band March 1995, with around 300 songs!!! And that's because Joel can follow quickly. Of course the credit goes to the whole band, without saying, but the Post is important!
Joel first started playing the bass with the FEU Orchestra. Then, he entered the band scene and joined Breezy Band and performed at Great Wall Sheraton Beijing 1990, the Prelude Quartet - Swiss Grand Hotel Seoul Korea in 1992. He also was a part of the famous Hotdog Band in 1993, then, our Time and a Half Band in 1994 up to 2000, Nxt level band from 2000-2004, Nextep Band performed in Malaysia, Indonesia, and Singapore in 2004. He also performed with Paolo Santos, and he recently was the bassist of Nina in a show. Joel is currently a member of the
    Freestyle Band.
Thank you, Joel for being a part of my Covid 19 Salamat Project, and big help, but really... Salamat, Joel! Hope to see you on my next trip there!
