Just wanted to take a minute to say thank you. you’re one of the guys that have kept me sane for the past year while recovering. I should be restoring my family owned 68 GTO that my dad bought brand new in 69. But when being diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2012 wasn’t enough to stop me I got paralyzed in 2019 from the neck down. Let me tell you that’ll put the kibosh on your car tinkering. I had to start all over….. and learn how to walk and feed myself and do basically everything people do every day. It’s been a long hard struggle but I’ve gotten everything back with the exception of my hands…my left hand wont open all the way and the right won’t close all the way. I just wanted to say thank you for being one of the guys I watch regularly while struggling to get back out there and “get my goat” back on the road thank you and keep up the good work.
Yes very enjoyable!! I've loved gto since I was about 14 yrs old, I'm 60 now! I owned a black 67, 1 champagne with white interior 69 and 2 70s 1 white with black interior and one red with white interior!!! Loved every one of them,. I also seen quite a few wrapped around trees or totaled some other way!! There's was a group of us in high school that all owned goats! Some of us more than just one thru the years!!! We all wish we had never let them go!!!
Awesome cars! GTO’s have always been my favorite muscle car. I used to own a red ‘65. However, when talking about GTO’s you should always give a shout-out to Jim Wangers. Without Jim none of us may have never heard of the car. Jim was a major force behind making them legends!
Dennis, Two full 360's. Would have made my day. Watching you row your own. Takes me back to those days. Of Muscle Cars ruling the roads. Please do more videos. Thanks, Shawn.
I ALWAYS learn way more than I should.. I am eternally grateful for the education, Dennis. As a kid in the 70’s growing up outside Austin, my father was promoted to the big “Hewlett Packard” in Palo Alto California and we moved a few blocks away from the Fremont GM plant. I never knew that was the same place the GTO was born..
Dennis Collins is the absolute Rainman of decoding vin numbers and build sheets. And for the others that live in Dallas County that means he knows his shit!!!!
Y’all are just awesome people. If I could ever afford to build something I would have y’all do it. Probably a pipe dream but I appreciate y’all and what and how you do it ! Keep it up please. Be blessed and stay blessed!
I love muscle cars. I wish i could buy this car. I had a couple of Pontiacs when i was younger. I currently have nothing to drive and no job cause of covid. It suuuucks!!! Closest i guess I'll ever get to own an older vehicle is watching these videos. There are alot of older vehicles i like cause things were made better back in the day.
I absolutely love everything you do on here you are more than just a car guy you are a mentor a teacher and a wonderful person thank you so much for sharing with us older guys who absolutely love the older muscle cars
I will never even sit in a car like Dennis own's....THANK YOU for showing me things I will never see...And for the INFORMATION ...YOU ARE AMAZING SMART....
Mr. Collins, you’re a little younger than me but you’re one of my heroes. I professionally mounted the Ferrari Gas Monkey car poster you signed for me when I won your donut contest a year or so ago. I look at it several times a day. Thank you.
Top drawer as always Dennis. I keep saying it but you're never shy of sharing your knowledge with your employee's. That's rare. Thankyou. The 911T ,back in the '80's l restored a Brown rusty old bucket into the Silver beauty you have . The early ones are the best. And 250 GTO ? My good lady wouldn't let me buy one in '78/'79 for £4750. !😨😨😨 And when Mr.Collins test drives his cars you know he going to give them a really good test drive! 😂😂😂Thanks Dennis.
Muchas gracias por tu programa, se aprende demasiado de la historia de un auto, por medio de los documentos originales. Por eso cuestan lo que cuestan. Denis, gracias. No cambies. Saludos desde Mexico.
I grew up with Muscle Cars & took them for granted. A friend bought a brand new '70 396 Chevelle, red with black stripes - beautiful, but nobody paid any attention to it since it wasn't a 454. Fastest: '70 Stage 1 Buick, red with a white vinyl top. Talk about your sleeper. Good times 😜
I love that you to all my life and I love the name given to them I found that out 30 years ago in my life Alex and Dennis Collins you're amazing thank you
This was one of my favorite videos from you guys buy far. I’m a Pontiac nut. Especially GTOs. The 73 -75 grand and are starting to wake up price wise now also
G'day Dennis you need to have your own TV show your content is a lot better than most shows on the box your knowledge is unbelievable much love from Australia ❤️
That GTO rocks it. Had the original 1965 442. Drove the wheels off it. Won some side money too! 😎 Once I got the suspension stiffened it was a steed car racer. The GTO would have been a helluva opponent.
Nice ...Love the matching blue interior, The white vinyl roof would look good new from factory....But would look terrible after few months. Great Channel....Happy New year
That's pretty much my dream car. Dennis, you and your team put out some of my favorite videos......thanks so much. Discovery channel should pay you **whatever** you want to produce a show with you and your team.....it would be super popular.
I enjoyed the GTO history and the story on the car. You are right; it’s a very cool car. I like it just the way it sits. Thanks again for sharing another great episode.😎
This brings back memories, I had a72 lemans convertible Gto enduro front bumper like this one, only had a 350 but it looked mean, was the only car I wish I never sold!
My mate in aus has a right hand drive 76 z28 camaro, white paint, red trim, 350 4 speed with the positrac 3.55 gears and he has a tonne of fun with that diff. Lights up dual wheels without an issue. Best diff ever in my opinion.
Dennis you never disappoint finding such great, interesting and beautiful examples of the best cars ever made. I would love to see you find a nice original 69 Trans Am or Ram III or IV Firebird and/or GTO. Those are my favorite but you rarely see them like Chevelles, 442’s etc.
Just a quick note; GTOs were a separate model from 1966 through 1971. All other years were an option, meaning you wouldn't be able to read the VIN and tell. Still, PHS would be able to tell you everything you wanted to know about any Pontiac you're looking at. Great vid!
Be sure and update the torsion spring for the rear boot. The stock springs won't hold up the trunk with the spoiler added. People will think it's a clone.
Cool car. Used to be one of my favourites along with TA's , but with age, I've learned that money doesn't come as easy, so for that money, I would tell the kid to buy a 2012 Boss 302 6spd.
I LOVE COFFEEWALK DENNIS KEEP THEM COMING I ALWAYS LEARN SOMETHING THANK YOU

Hi from the UK, love the coffee walks and the way you can always find these cars. A lot harder over here but still not impossible 👌
My dad has instilled a deep affection for these muscle cars. He had a few Chargers, and would have loved your GTO.

I was 13 years old when GTO/Lemans first came out. I remember my city roared with all the muscle cars of the 60's &70's, those were heady times.

Thank you.
Beautiful car. That blue is an amazing color. I agree with the original owner on getting rid of the white top.
Thank you Dennis, for the updates on the car. We love seeing them! It is so nice to see the car in running condition and actually out on the road.

I absolutely miss my 71 GTO JUDGE Convertible
Wow you should. The Judge was a little Hollywood but fun!
This brings back memories, I had a72 lemans convertible Gto enduro front bumper like this one, only had a 350 but it looked mean, was the only car I wish I never sold!
My build sheet was located on top of the gas tank.

Fantastic example, wish I lived there as it's a great buy for the money. Best wishes and good luck as always.
i just realise Deniss was a record holder for the Canon Ball Run Wow !!!!
Did you look on top of the gas tank for the build sheet?
Just a quick note; GTOs were a separate model from 1966 through 1971. All other years were an option, meaning you wouldn't be able to read the VIN and tell. Still, PHS would be able to tell you everything you wanted to know about any Pontiac you're looking at. Great vid!
Dude you are a Auto legend. And my hero
Dennis, You have the best job!
Be sure and update the torsion spring for the rear boot. The stock springs won't hold up the trunk with the spoiler added. People will think it's a clone.
If I recall they had three settings for the assist springs on the GM's
Yep
I have a 70 Tempest built in Fremont. Found the build sheet on top of the gas tank.
Thats one nice gto. My favorite car
Cool car. Used to be one of my favourites along with TA's , but with age, I've learned that money doesn't come as easy, so for that money, I would tell the kid to buy a 2012 Boss 302 6spd.

My dad always bought 💩 cars 😂
I worked in the Fremont Plant worked on 68-70 models including the Judge. Worked in body shop on the line right before paint.
