After almost two years of waiting, we finally picked up our Rivian R1S from the Factory in Normal, IL and immediately drove it 1000 miles back home to NJ. As a shareholder, thanks for promoting Rivian and trying to put Rivian's issues in a positive light. Rivian vehicles may be overpriced and lack basic features, but it's early. Rivian may have more flaws than other BEV makers, such as Tesla and Ford. But if we don't get investors and buyers to stay motivated and buy more shares and more Rivian vehicles, then Rivian will never get the traction needed to become a mass production BEV seller. So thanks again for not harping on lack of Apple Play, defective interfaces, defective bed cover, poor charging network, lack of glove compartment and high price and instead focusing on really important features such as able to carry passengers and cargo

This is great video!!!!! I watched part one as well, I wanted to know how is the Blind Spot Monitor system? Does it have lights in the mirror? Or is the just those little lines in the center screen? I have a M3 Tesla right now, and i like the new update with the red in the camera!!!! I put in my reservation in for R2!!! I'm so excited as the years go to see more info!!! Also love that your rocking out to Rain on me By Lady Gaga!!! LOL

Thanks so much for watching and subscribing! We absolutely love the Rivian and also have an R2 reservation in, and will probably take it to replace my Model Y in about 2 years.
For the blind spot monitoring, there are yellow warning lights on the interior of the vehicle on each side right where the mirrors joins the body, so you can easily see if there is something in the blind spot while glancing to the side in addition to the lines on the center screen. It does not currently show a view from the side camera like Tesla or Hyundai do, but it's been rumored to be on the roadmap for some time. Rivian seems to be pretty good and quick paced with software updates so far, so I hope we'll see that soon. That said though, for such a large vehicle, the blind spots really aren't that big.
One of the things that's surprised us with it so far is how good some of the playlists are through Amazon music. We've been using that a lot more including on this drive. We love Gaga!

Unfortunately I didn’t note it all down but I recall it being in the 40s and 50s for most of the drive and efficiency was around 2.25-2.5 mi/kWh

Yes I’ve seen this and while it’s not a good experience, overall Rivian has demonstrated good reliability and high satisfaction scores, so I’m not especially concerned. We haven’t had any issues yet with ours and are already at 2000 miles.

Does it have alot of wind noise on the highway?

Not at all! It’s very quiet at highway speeds. When it’s just my wife and me, we keep the radio at volume 2 and can hear it completely fine. It’s quite a bit louder when the kids are in with us though.
We put the cross bars on this week for skiing and with those, and especially with skis on, it’s noticeably loud and if the wind is strong there is whistling. But it makes me realize just how quiet it is inside without those things on.

@@Eventurefamilyhave you noticed any rattling noises inside the cabin when going over bumps or uneven terrain? I have an R1S for just over a week and I’ve noticed some strong rattling on occasions.
