Galungan & Kuningan Celebration in the United States of America 2024

On 3/3, The families and friends of @banjarbaliusa held #Galungan & #Kuningan celebration. The day was a wonderful occasion to be together and learn about these Balinese Hindu holidays and traditions.
Galungan celebrates the triumph of dharma (virtue) over adharma (evil). Observed every 210 days according to the Hindu Caka calendar, Galungan marks the day the Gods & Goddesses came to earth joined by spirits of their ancestors/deceased relatives.
The tenth day after Galungan when the Gods, Goddesses, & spirits return to their realms is called #Kuningan. "Kuning" (which means 'yellow') is the dominant color across the festivities, including outfits, food, and the decorations made of bamboo & palm leaf (#penjor).
