Huge thanks to CCM for sending me the Trigger 8 Pro to review and make content on. This review took longer than expected since I had to replace the 80 flex I got for the 85 flex that is in this video. By the time I got the replacement all the quicker reviews were out so I figured I'd test the durability of it more!
Love your reviews and I'm glad @ccmhockeychannel is sending you gear to review. Ribcor sticks are the best I love everything from the graphics, shaft shape, kick point, etc.
just bought a trigger 8 and this vid had a lot to do with it. havent used a trigger in many years. i love everything about it. totally fixed every issue i had with my jetspeeds. so much better than the nexus. love it so much. thanks for this vid.
Interesting to hear your opinion on enjoying the blade heavy feel of the Trigger 7 pro. IMO The balance of the Trigger 8 Pro is so much better than the 7 pro and makes holding the 7 pro undesirable in comparison. Main gripe with CCM sticks is the splintering of their blades. Bauer (non Boron sticks) blades are superior, especially the Nexus Sync blade.
I haven't ever looked at those priced sticks sorry. I always suggest people checking prostockhockeysticks.com for budget sticks. I've reviewed a few and they are easily the best performance/price stick out there.
So I have been thinking about switching to ccm, I have always used vapor line of Bauer and recently switch to the Bauer agent. I have to get 7 sticks before I move to prep school. Do you recommend me switching to a ccm stick or stick with the agent, between puck feel and also duribility, because I don’t want a stick that the blade will snap within 2 months like any hyperlite
So, you always hear horror stories about most brands (rarely Warrior tbh). I haven't heard the best things about Jetspeeds lately but Triggers seem to be holding up decently well with the stores and people I have been talking to. Kick points and stick feel is totally personal preference thing. While I think Triggers are excellent sticks, I am not a huge fan of the balance on the Trigger 8 Pro compared to the 7 Pro. I would always recommend trying to find one to test, even if it is shooting at a store and see if you like the feel and how the kick plays for you!
@@HockeyReviews ah this sucks, I decided to go with a trigger 7 pro, but as we were looking more into it today because I just broke my agent on the ice today they unlisted them on ccms store and the trigger 8 pros don’t have any p92 curves. Do you have any other recommendations for a stick I should look into? Like duriblity wise, preferably a low kick point.
What flex do you need? On CCM's store there is a bunch of P29 on there site. New QR6 is really good... so if you can wait a few weeks I'd check that out
The trigger 8 pro does feel shaft heavy and light bladed. It does affect stick handling unfortunately. Does have a hot pop shot but other handling is a tad off
FT6 pro is THE stick, because of the stiffest and NON-dampened blade. So direct and fast! This dampened blades are kind of cheating ;) Use your hands for damping. Second best is Trigger 8, because of ballance ;)
Dampened blades aren't about stopping the puck from coming off the blade. It is about puck feel, but not surprised you got that wrong based on the emoji usage ;)

How would you compare the blade feel to a Nexus Sync?
Not as dampened as the Sync is, that is still on a different level.

Glad this video helped! I would be extremely helpful if you let CCM know you bought a stick because of me!

have you reviewed the jetspeed ft655 stick? i'm relatively new to the hockey biz and on a budget, so i'm wondering how the stick would perform

@@HockeyReviews Ah I figured that. It's no problem though, I'll just check out pro hockey sticks

How are the trigger 7 and 8 non pros?
I haven't gotten a chance to look at anything but the Pros so I can't say sorry
I always use the 2nd from the top price point Ribcor. IMO they're great sticks. Load easily and catch pucks like a dream.
