Mercedes A45 AMG Full In-depth Review | The Original Hyper Hatchback |

Hey guys welcome to this long overdue review, I remember first seeing the OG A45 on a top gear magazine back in 2014 when I was in the 9th grade, during a free class in high school, love at first sight. It really was a game changer for AMG, where they proved they can dominate a segment they had never been a part of, it was so ahead of its competitors performance wise it even created a new hothatch category dubbed "The Hyperhatch". These are still phenomenal machines today, still stupid fast, and have a soundtrack that today's performance cars can only dream of, with all these new restrictions.

How practical is it for everyday use, fuel consumption and maintenance in 2021?

56L fuel tank, good for over 700km on one tank under normal driving of course, not a heavy drinker, only when under load of course…the fuel tank is bigger than the one in the A45s by about 4-6L, so it’s more efficient than the newer car…full tank will set you back about R900 under normal fuel prices…

Thinking of getting one for my son, its going to be his first car. Do you think i should still go for one in 2023 over the likes of Golf 7.5 GTI/R ?

Maintenance costs are quite high on the A45, I’d recommend a GTI TCR and 7.5 R with the Akrapovic exhaust it’s loads fun still…

Go for A45 if it's brand new. He can still sell it at a good price after a few years.
They hold value nicely
