Really enjoyed "Talking Tapestry" today with you and Sarah. You both looked great and there was a ton of very helpful information. We need more of these maybe quarterly?

That is also a great idea! No promises, but it would be fun to do it more often.

Rebecca’s book is ESSENTIAL READING. Even if you’ve taken it are taking classes. You’ll come back to this book again and again. Along with Alden Amos’ big book on spinning wheels, probably the book I use and refer to others the most.

This was AWESOME! Both my tapestry weaving heros in one video! I loved it! It seemed to go by just too fast. Y'all should do this once every month or two. I loved just watching and listening to y'all talk shop. You're both so talented and both a huge inspiration for me and so many others. Can't wait til the next one!! Thank you Rebecca and Sarah!

I am so very inspired by both of you. I am 71 and just started my tapestry journey. I have always done lots of spinning and other forms of weaving and fiber arts. My question to both of you is, how long have you been weaving and what got you started on your journeys?

Thank you both for this lovely video and most of all I’m extremely grateful to both of you for the blog/websites you both spend you time helping newer weavers like myself. You both do that & only out of the kindness of your hearts. Both have helped me more than I can express. Rebecca’s book & Tommye Scanlin’s design book are a must for me daily. The only hurdle I’ve struggled with was in the design process. I’m really working on it bc I still don’t struggle understanding which sett is best for each design.

I was astounded when I wrote comments on the Gusset, just to amuse Sarah and anyone else reading, and SHE REPLIED!! To me!! Whole sentences, not just a throwaway! Fanning self...

If you use the T connector to go to the back of a pipe loom you could probably make a double pipe loom to do the double layer

It was a very interesting and informative talk. Thank you both!
RE: painter's tape--Sherwin-Williams and Home Depot both carry Frog Tape. My guru painter says, for painting, green is basic, yellow gives the cleanest edges on painted surfaces (no bleeding beneath when sealed). Both are easily removable. I've used both for painting and other projects.

The “loom people love to hate” - just like Babe spinning wheels, made from pvc pipe and wheelchair wheels. But I have SEVERAL “high end” pieces of furniture (also known as spinning wheels), AND a couple Babes (production and heavy wheels, with helix level winds) and I ADORE them. Perfectly functional, can take it anywhere, so if anyone is skeptical about pvc, be a rebel! Just say no to expensive furniture stopping you from following your fiber bliss!

Always enjoy change the shed, I am a very new tapestry weaver. Loved this but I am super curious about Sarah’s sweater, is there a way we can find out if that’s hand knit and that there may be a pattern? I have two pounds of spun cormo in a three ply heavy fingering weight that wants to be a sweater. 😊

Are there instructions for Sarah’s tensioned plastic pipe loom in the fringeless class or elsewhere? You two are a brilliant presenting team’

This was great! I will be signing up for your class! Does the No Warp Ends kit from Mirrix take the place of the jig in fringless, four selvedge warping?

Can you recommend a good online class or instruction about learning to spin? I love the alternative weft materials like paper or coffee filters, but I have no idea how to spin!

Hi Debra. I always recommend Jillian Moreno and she has a book called Yarnitecture and an amazing Patreon of which I am a committed member. She is awesome. She has a class on Craftsy that she teaches with Jacey Boggs (of Ply Magazine, Jillian is the editor, Jacey the owner/editor) and Longthread (Spin Off) has some beginning classes with two other of my favorite spinning instructors Maggie Casey on a spindle (she is my spinning teacher) and Kate Larson on a wheel. I hope that helps! Enjoy the spinning. I'd start with wool to learn but you'll be spinning coffee filters like a pro before too long! Sarah uses a spindle for that. I think you could probably also use a wheel or espinner as well.

Painter’s tape: go in to Home Depot, they have many colors of painter’s tape. Each color has different stickiness.

Can you use that metal easel with a mirrix loom or only with a pipe loom please?

    • @RebeccaMezoffTapestry
      @RebeccaMezoffTapestry  Рік тому +1

Sarah doesn't have a Mirrix loom to test that with, but in my experience, a Mirrix will fit on many different types of easels. If you're going to buy one in a physical store, I'd bring the loom along. Sometimes the trays that hold canvases are narrower, but I'd imagine in a big floor easel that it would easily hold any of the Mirrix looms. Mirrix also sells a similar easel for their looms.

What an absolute delight this video was. So great seeing Sarah again. You two are the best, I took Fringeless the first time around. Time to revisit the technique again. It is an awesome class for anyone on the fence about it. Also Frog tape is available in the US and comes in yellow and green.

Well then. Sounds like I could expand my blue tape colors with yellow and green as well!
