The HS2000 snuck into the US without telling buyers. I got mine in spring 2001 or late 2000. $247.50 asking price on Gunbroker. I needed a cheap 9mm pistol to burn up 1k of 9mm ammo. So I took a chance on it, not expecting anything above Kel-tec or Warsaw Pact quality. Pleasantly surprised on opening the box is a gross understatement. Lots of pistols have come and gone but the HS2000 is still with me as my #1 Go-To 9mm.
History trivia:: During the Balkans War in the 1990's the Croatian Army needed a far better combat pistol. Two prototypes were developed and rejected. The 3rd prototype had promise and was refined into the HS2000. 2000 was year of acceptance and production. A small batch was imported into the US by an outfit in Tennessee with zero fanfare. No idea how many were imported but it was a small number. I've heard as few as 1,200 or less.
So many good guns, i can't understand why so many people are giving up so good guns.
The state i live in which is Illinois, and a handful of other states are really pushing their disarming of law abiding citizens through insane laws. Washington state is one of the worst also. But the lawmakers here only want the cops and criminals to he armed.

Mine had the original Plastic magazine Base Plate; Fell off as well...That weapon should just be "inerted" to allow use for gunsmith training only. Stainless did not help Slide Function.I cannot recommend Sale or Purchase of that unit, Ever. Too many other Good Guns out there....

Shoutout Kentucky ballistics and it wasn't the guns fault that it blew up he was putting my bullets that were 50 years old slap rounds or what they are called and it wasn't the guns fault it was the ammunition he was shooting through it

I agree ,the Henry is a fantastic well built rifle. I got 1 for each of my grandkids of their youth model so they can learn to shoot.
Cool, keep this tradition alive my friend, the world is becoming more dangerous than ever for our children, we must teach them how to fight. We Brazilians doesn't has this culture.
