    Great Info ! Did this yesterday but made it a bit more challenging. Snatch grip DL, deficit, floating for reps. It really makes you focus on proper technique because you don't want to do this wrong. The postierior chain and back will be hurting the next day. This really helps w my snatches as it makes you focus on evenly distriuting the weight on your foot the entier time.

    My coach started me on this. Most I’ve done is 335x10 for 5 sets. Super brutal.

    Love these. I do snatch grip as my warm up until I switch to conventional on my working sets. It always makes my conventional feel stronger directly after doing snatch grip.

    I love the snatch grip deadlift, I do it olympic style a bit more upright starting position & ATG on a deficet to help with leg drive on conventional deadlift and as an assistance for my squats. Great exercise!

    A good way to find your grip is to take the empty bar and hold it upright when the bar sits in the crease of your hips that is your snatch grip as this is the “contact” point in the snatch for the triple extension.

    Hey Joey! So, I've heard a lot about deadlift accessories these days... pause deadlifts, snatch grip, block or rack pulls, even heavy barbell rows... they all sound good, do you know if most guys rotate them, or just pick one and stick with it for a block? If they just choose 1, how is it determined? I currently try to squat 3x a week and deadlift 2x, one day being my accessory day. Idk, this might be too long/ detailed a question, just wanted to see if you had an opinion.

      Excellent question and I'm also curious to hear Joey's thoughts. This is a topic that actually came up today with my personal coach. He may not be a youtube fitness celebrity but he's a professional powerlifter and pulls 331kg/730lbs on 93kg weightclass ) and he told me he thinks it should be not more than 2 accessories that target your personal weaknesses (so for me, my weaknesses is getting the bar off the ground, which is why i'm doing deficit deadlifts and snatch grip as accessories) Then, once those weaknesses have become strengths, other weaknesses will appear throughout the strength cycle, which will force you to maybe choose 2 different accessories again. Hope this was helpful and obviously would love to hear anyone else's thoughts and experiences on this

      Hey thanks man! That sounds like good advice to me. Very helpful. Yeah, my sticking point is just below the knee, so I might focus more on block pulls and pause deadlifts. Thanks and take care!

    Thank you for the great UA-cam content you put out.
    It's good to have a new deadlift variation to try out.

    This is off topic but I remember you saying that you should keep your elbow parallel and fingers on the bar when you are about to jerk in the clean and jerk. I was taught to keep my whole hand on the bar throughout the whole lift. I was wondering if you could clear up any confusion on what is the most efficient way of clean and jerking.

    • @SzatStrength
      @SzatStrength  6 років тому +2

      It’s based on mobility if you can keep your whole hand on you have better mobility and can do that. For those that don’t keep bar in fingers is fine.

    Yo szat thanks man I'm new to deadlift and I currently pull 315 in conventional mode ..shall I go for the snatch way from now ?

    • @SzatStrength
      @SzatStrength  6 років тому +3

      no just add it as another day or variation of the DL when you need to switch it up. But still should pull conventional.

  • @palavpalavets5911

    Why a weightlifter would need to deadlift? Weightlifters only need to snatch and clean-and-jerk, anything else is wasted of time.
