George was one of my favourite Celtic Thunder members. Although I never saw them live. I could still see and feel the energy of George's performances. He seemed like such a down to earth, wonderful man. George was taken far too soon. I miss him. Fortunately George's music will live on forever.
Dearly missed ol George, his solos could make you laugh just by the energy he performed with, some make you want to get up and move and some could literally make you cry, ol George the man of many emotions
This song is a Dutch song and is callen Het kleine cafe aan de haven and it is not about a cafe in Amsterdam but a cafe in Hoorn a harbour town, and the lyrics are all changed. I live in Hoorn and we are all proud of it. They play this a lot in our local pubs
If this song was to be performed in The Netherlands, everyone would have sung the Dutch version in the middle (Red Rose Cafe in Dutch is Het Kleine Cafe aan fe Haven).
So sad that George died and somebody else in the group decided he was Mister big man after George died who seemed to be the anchor for the Celtic Thunder Group What a Sad loss they could have gotten gotten by and continue to be on the charts but one sour apple in the whole situation destroyed a fine singing group and I sadly miss them
