  • The Eastern front between the Germans and the Soviets was one of the most bitter and bloody theatres of World War 2. It was through the Red Army's monumental effort and sacrifice that the war was able to be ended how it was in our timeline. With the Germans stalled deep into Russia, slowly pushed back, and crushed form both sides. So what if, in an alternative universe, The Germans never invaded Russia?

I'm gonna say this video is a little less quality than my others. The reason behind this is that I've been stuck on this video for a WHILE. I experience some road block almost immediately after beginning to edit it. I wasn't going to upload it at all but I figured after uploading yesterdays, I could upload this one. So you could have another video that I was a bit more proud of alongside this one. Nonetheless I hope you enjoyed and thanks for watching!

I think the only problem with these scenarios is that Hitler never wanted to fight in the west. If he was smart and didn’t invade the soviets and the soviets didn’t invade the Reich, Hitler would have looked for any opportunity to make peace with the west. This would have then led to most likely Hitler giving up control of France and southern Italy in return for a peace with the Allies. Then Hitler would declare war on the Soviet preemptively in the year 1943-44 and without the purge being repaired and the Nazis having a much more powerful and focused position would turn into a World War One type of war. And the Allies run by anti communist leaders and peoples they would probably even support the Germans with guns and food as well as support the soviets in order to weaken both, just like Churchill wanted.

No the Nazi leadership wouldnt give up france for any sort of peace, as in our timeline we can see hitler belived that the allies could be still defeated after getting in mere miles of berlin, this shows an example of how irrational hitler war

No the allies wouldn’t give a dime to Germany and the soviets would of been a lot better prepared for war, hitler best chance at succeeding against the soviets was 1941 and he lost it.

This is actually a very interesting scenario! So after the war, when the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact expired, there maybe could have been a "second chapter of WW2"?

An advice for a video: What if Germany was occupied after WW1. By this I mean the war lasts into 1919 and ends with unconditional surrender and division into occupation zones like in WW2, wich means Germany will most likely not be able to return a power for longer and WW2 would either happen later or never.

Hmm lets see, Germany is partitioned along old lines and spheres of influence, France would've likely pushed for the complete dissolution of the German Empire, the devastated new states likely wouldn't have survived on their own either falling to the strong socialist movements already present or reverting back to a chaotic battleground for the remaining powers a la HRE.

Regardless of whether or not Germany invade Russia, they would have lost to the allies anyway because of the air superiority of the allies. The rest is just a matter of time

I have considered both of these topics before. One being what if the NSDAP never rose in Germany, and exploring all the different routes they could have taken. And one about if the far left or right in France was able to successfully organize and gain power one way or another.

Operation Barbarossa was the second biggest mistake Hitler made. The first was declaring war on the United States, his third mistake was stopping Guderian before the evacuation of the BEF from Dunkirk. 1941 should have followed our time line with the invasion of Yugoslavia and Greece. That should have been followed with the invasion of Crete and Malta. Then the transfer of sufficient forces to Libya for the invasion of Egypt. Once the Mediterranean is closed to British shipping the U Boats would have a much easier time eliminating British Empire shipping coming from the Middle East and India. That would have stopped the shipment of oil from Parsia!

Operation Barbarossa wann‘t a mistake the mistake of Hitler was to invade Poland because this resulted in Allie’s wanted to fight Germany and if this never happened teh Societs would have no chance against Nazi Germany because when Soviets got their War Machine rolling they would be invaded

I don’t see why the Germans wouldn’t use their full might against the British in Africa in your scenario what if The Axis won the Germans and the Italians seized
Egypt and Sudan before they invaded the
Soviets why wouldn’t they do that if they
    didn’t even invaded the Soviets

I disagree with this video, first off, the reason why Germany attacked the Soviet Union when it did was partly due to material issues. Germany was running very short on resources by the time they attacked it, and without the resources gained from the invasion, Germany could never support its war machine. That just means the west would gain a advantage very quickly, and WW2 would end in a Allied victory far sooner than what you imagined.

@@TokitoZinn They wouldn't win in it. Even if they could focus their energies on North Africa, the Italian army was completely terrible and the Allies could beat it, thus flanking Germanys forces in North Africa, and just fill in the German gaps, thus dividing the German army and would crush Germany.

Moreover even in real life in 1944 when Germany was losing and lacking resources, the allies were taking a beating

One of the many problems I have with your scenario is that Korea was only divided due to the Soviet invasion of China and Korea. In your timeline, the Soviets never invade, thus the US would have had to most likely invade Korea and potentially China, in addition to the 2 Nuclear attacks. It was the 6.5 million Soviet troops attacking the Japanese forces in China in addition to the 2 Nuclear attacks that convinced the Japanese to surrender.

Actually, I could see Germany developing the Nuclear bomb on it's own before the UdSSR as they had a research project even in the real world from 1938-1945 and the Americans were seriously worried about it. Also, it would probably been successful if Germany had not attacked the USSR as they could focus far more ressources on the "Uranbombe", especially in the few years where there would have been peace. You have to see that Germany also was insanely powerful industry-wise and while Hitler surely was completely mad, he wouldn't have passed up the opportunity to dominate all of Europe.

    I have two questions
    1. What do you think of the Kaiserreich and Southern Victory Series ?
    2. Which one of them do you prefer ?

    • @ThatAnnoyingAmerican
      @ThatAnnoyingAmerican  2 роки тому +2

Oo, interesting questions. Kaiserreich, beyond being a very well mod for the game Hearts of Iron 4, is a truly well crafted story. And while Southern Victory isn't the most realistic novel ever written, gotta give credit to the O.G. alternative history writer Harry Turtledove. As for which I prefer, I don't know, they're just so different and I enjoy them both in different reasons. Thanks for giving me something to geek about!
