LA has 2 of the top 5 players in the NBA (according the most fans), and yet they only have played well the one season in the bubble, when they had a 3 month break to rest up. The Jazz had 2 low key stars (Stockton and Malone) and usually a very modest surrounding cast, and won 55-60 games for like 15 years straight!
For the Lakers to win LeBron needs to take less money and persue a minor role as the third option similar like James Harden does now for the LA Clippers. And it aint gonna happen if he gets 50 Million a year.

Lebron’s not playing well either. He needs to take some responsibility. I personally think they’re fine without him. And the refs cover Lebron too often. Dude fouls multiple times per play and it never gets called.

I think with the roster the Lakers have, incremental improvements should do the job. Players like Gabe or Hachi should be able to complement Bron and AD at least to a point where they are a safe play off team. Not having a set choice for your PG is probably the worst problem you can have, especially when your best/2nd best player is 39 years old and just has to pick his spots over an 82 game season if he wants to have anything left in the tank come play off time.

The right coach can make a world of difference. If u think the Lakers have the talent yet they can't pass the eye test, to me thats coaching. Playing up to your competition and not motivated for lesser teams, thats coaching. Having nights where all plays look like iso plays? Coaching. Inconsistent lineups. Coaching. Disgruntled players. Cosching. All signs point to darvin ham being the issue in my opinion.
The coach is the easiest to blame and he will be fired this year or in the offseason and the lakers will have the same problems. Lebron cant play defense and controls the ball to much. AD comes and goes like the wind. Reeves gets picked on like that booger that don’t want to come out. The rest of the starters can’t shoot and the bench are all one way players. Yes the coach can’t do a better job of lines ups and subs here and their but that doesn’t change the fact this roster is mid at best

Uh, I’m most disappointed in Lebrons D. Playing 5 on 4 defense is really tough at the NBA level. I’m literally rooting for no injuries and hoping we get a super efficient play in the play in tournament. Hopefully get a green unproven team like OKC and get a shot at conference finals. But right now OKC would flush the lakers as there are few stops on D and many turnovers.
