6 years ago I was hooked on opiodes and completely disconnected from everything. I did Ibogaine and it completely changed my life. I stoped using opiodes. Then since then iv had many experiences everything from mushrooms,LSD to dmt and aya… since my first experience to now. Iv gotten clean. Went vegan 5 years ago. Got married and have completely found god and connection to everything. This interview was amazing. I hope this helps others to look at the potential of psychedelics

15:15 Spoiler: one can have psychedelic experiences without the use of external psychedelic substances.
This talk is full of useful pointers!
21:12 Healing can be found in the present moment.
58:58 Sacred reciprocity and vetting your guides and facilitators.
1:14:14 The breathing exercise described here feels very approachable and teachable. It has also pointed me towards Dirgha Pranayama or The Three Part Breath. It sounds silly, but please be careful as you practice breathing.

Ram Dass ultimately found the use of psychedelics isn’t the ideal path for the long run. I suggest reading his meditator’s guidebook, Journey of Awakening - Chapter 5, Losing Your Way.

this is true for Ram Das, but for many, such as Mckenna , meditations and yoga never really worked or just seemed redundant. For me, a combination of the two is great. Also, keep in mind psychedelics were the gateway to everything else for Ram. I dont think there is one path or one is better than the other. Variety is nice and we all must experiment to see what works best i would say.

@@billymahonyy I appreciate and recognize your perspective. Thank you for sharing. The key word I noted in my previous comment is *long run. And perhaps you may find someday that Ram Das has interesting insight on McKenna's journey.

@@ForestChaplain oh really? ive seen them speak in that one youtube video where there they are having coffee together. I think McKenna would probably admit he wasnt quite capable of the patience required to get to where Ram was... its an interesting conversation though-are psychedelics most optimum for the first half of your life and then perhaps it is natural, for most people, to find a different path? For myself, its not hard to imagine i will do less as i get older. It takes a lot of effort for me to get to the state of readiness to embark on high doses. I will try to find some more conversation Ram has about terrance, thanks for the reply :)

@@billymahonyy Awesome! I believe he mentions it in the book I suggested above. I believe it really depends on what you are seeking in your own life experience :-). For me, the less I use in the material world the more sustainable and memorable any particular state and its lessons/offerings become, such as Unconditional Love itself. I know many who have used substance as a gateway, or for cheat codes, but it can be very bombarding with over-use. To connect the dots and sustain the knowledge, it takes time and a sober mind to reintegrate. I value the idea of periodic spirit quests or rite of passages. It does seem many use it to channel with spirit beings, to offer messages to humanity, as McKenna. But in the end, Ram Das found that to sustain a deep inner connection to Love, substance-free is the most substantial and stabilizing. Take care, live on and prosper ~

@@ForestChaplain cool, i like where your coming from with all this :) yes i certainly dont over use these plants often. for me, that concept at this point doesnt really exist. I actually dont know anyone who does overuse the, although i know it is possible.I almost wish i could do them more sometimes,, but i have to summon the courage to do these journeys which takes months sometimes. I always have an intention. And i integrate for months and months after. Mushrooms, iboga, dmt also connect me to myself and nature in a way that i have not found yet with meditations. The way i loook at it, mushrooms are nature, so it is simply me having a conversation directly with nature.
