Racial Reconciliation - Ephesians

- Опубліковано 28 вер 2024
- We don't have to achieve racial reconciliation, it exists. It is a reality that we must walk in, but it has already been accomplished in Christ. In this session, Dr. Voddie Baucham unpacks Ephesians 2:10-11 to show the sufficiency of Christ's death on the cross to bring us near in perfect reconciliation.
In recent years we have a growing concern about “social justice.” What is meant by that phrase, however, varies widely among those who use and promote it. What is too often missing-even in the calls for “social justice” coming from Christian leaders-is a clear understanding of biblical justice. Justice exists because God is just and righteous. He is the One who defines justice and He has revealed what true justice is in the Bible. For more resources on these topics, you can visit www.founders.org.
This presentation was given by Dr. Voddie Baucham on January 5, 2019 at the Southeast Founders "Do Justice, Love Kindness, Walk Humbly" regional conference in Cape Coral, Florida.

This is what America needs right now. This message is powerful
Amen Miguel!
truly. I came back to this message to remind myself of the true solution for all this going on.
Amen! All these ideologies of this world have been tearing at my heart for days. I'm so grateful that Christ and His word is sufficient and all we need@@PatternSon
Amen!
2Chron 7.14 “If my people, which are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray; seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, forgive their sins, and heal their land.” Why do Christians not take this passage seriously, but insist on universalism and establishing heaven on earth before Christ coming back?
What he says at 34:05 is so true. I went to Germany when I was in the Army. I got an apartment off post, but my landlords did not speak English and I don't speak any German. The army sent interpreters to help us handle the business of me renting the house, but when the interpreters left I was basically on my own with these people who I couldn't communicate with. One day my landlord happen to see my Bible lying on the table. (If you see big thick books of any language that look worn and are lying in easy reach on tables; it's safe to say they are Bibles!) In any case when my landlord saw my Bible he because excited and quickly ran downstairs, grabbed his Bible and showed it to me as well. After that he, his wife and I would praise the Lord together and sing songs. We couldn't understand each other but we instinctively knew that we worshiped the same God. I had a similar experience in South Korea as well. People are people where ever you go, but all are united in Christ.
Aww see that's beautiful. Race has no color we are all God's people. It's beautiful thing.
Amen
WOW, WHAT A BEAUTIFUL STORY AND TESTIMONY!! God is GOD in any language!! :-)
That is awesome, but in America, not speaking English gets you crucified by English speaking Americans, Christians.
Glory to God!
So much on race and violence right now that it's making me mentally sick. This video is exactly what I needed to see. This world is BROKEN, but God's word is perfect and true. Voddie is one of the best at delivering that word
Amen! The world is looking for the very ideals found in God's word but have pushed God away. So thankful like great preachers like Dr. Baucham.
Me to ,
I feel ya.
Amen,amen !
I love that Voddie Baucham brings together so many people, including awesome Christian metalheads. 😊😆😍
Got up at 4 this morning because I was struggling with the insufficient answers I was getting from everywhere about things currently happening. This gentleman of God reappeared in my UA-cam feed. Wow. I havnt heard preaching like that in way too long. Sufficient indeed.

Funny, I woke up at 2:00am and was awake till 4:00am. I always remember that God can use that time to get our attention. "Songs in the night". Glad you were ministered to.
He is one of my favorites (along with Jack Hibbs, JD Farag (I would watch his weekly Bible prophesies starting a year ago through today, he also has 3 sermons each week that are good, the bible prophesy ones are powerful though.
Very similar thing happened to me as well
Voddie is 🔥!! This i when the word of God is taught in its context.
YES! We use the Bible to critique other books NOT other books to critique Bible!! Amen!!!
The Bible is sufficient for ALL ISSUES for ALL of LIFE for ALL of TIME!!!
Once again, sir, you have brought me to tears. Oh Heavenly Father, thank you for brother Baucham in this dire time of need in the church.

Yes, yes, YESSS! Bless you, brother. So good! You have hit the nail on the head the way I have felt ALL MY LIFE as a Native American woman who also is 1/2 white. I don't want to have to "choose" which world I live in. I am a child of GOD...THAT is my identity...and my job is to bring others to Him for the glory of His Kingdom. He has ALL the answers. Thank you so much! God has given you such a gift. May the Lord keep you and bless you and your family. Keep preaching it!
This is man is not of God
God makes leaders
He is a liar when said God did not talk against same sex people being with each other..
He don't know what he is talking about
You don't need to look at some other books why people hate people because the color of there skin. There is no such thing called black and white. The people are foolish people we all came from Adam. So that tells me that we have all kinds of things in them
There is only one house, GOD'S HOUSE!
and one lake of fire.
The Bible is sufficient. Amen 🙏🏾
Zambia is one of the few Christian countries remaining which has the courage to stand up to lgbt. I was born and bred there, and I’m pleased to hear that Voddie is living in Zambia.
A Scottish missionary by the name of David Livingstone died and shed his blood in your land preaching the Gospel in years long ago.
Imagine being proud of bigotry.
I thought Uganda was fighting as well
It's a country alright, but Christian? Mmmh I doubt. I'm am African and I can tell you while I'm grateful to God that most African countries reject the sinful ways of the world but their reasons are not biblical but cultural and that's why there is millions of sinful things accepted by the society and gets overlooked 😔
@@pilgrimonanarrowway2034 So true. And if they don't for the right reasons the great deceptions will come and swallow them up too. The sinful ways begin with failing to worship God as God and to be under subjection to him.
“There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.”
Galatians 3:28 KJV
The Bible says it all, we can not say it any better than the Bible.
"All Lives Matter".
'God is no respector of persons'
Sin is sin. The Bible is sufficient for racial reconciliation. Live to its print and all falls in place, the problem is we don't live to the printed word.... I don't bow before anyone but the Lord. Every knee shall bow and every toungue confess.....
That’s scripture and the Holy Truth
notice something missing.... color
if we are in Christ there is nothing else needed.
i am a human being, created by holy God.
i am an adopted child of our holy Father, saved by the blood of my Redeemer.
also, a husband, father, brother. there is no room for color.
@nomad:
it may. but that is on man.
It can be misinterpreted, but that onus is on the reader. Paul is breaking through the main social factors that divide people. Reiterating that God is no respecter of persons. It is just one of my favorite verses to deal with racism, the way I vote, and how I treat others
Prayed about finding a fresh new message in Christ. God led me here. Praise God for this man of God and his teaching.
What an awesome example of servanthood that God has raised up in the person of Dr.Baucham!
This is what a man looks like that pleases God.....no matter the ethnicity.
Watched this several times and just realized he was crying 😢
One of the best things about being saved is that you are in a family with other Christians from all over the world. It's such a great thing when you and someone who looks and speaks completely different than you get together and praise the same God and love each other.
@Christian Mabe it's the deepest most profound state of belonging in existence in the Universe!
Bless you, brother!
This sermon had me on the edge of my seat! So powerful, so Biblical,so encouraging, so convicting, so timely. ...
So divinely orchastrated on time for the saints hear!

This is the most powerful Christian message I have ever heard on Racial Reconciliation preached by Dr. Baucham from Ephesians 2:10-18.
Blood might be thicker than water but it’s not stronger then the cross🙌🏾🙌🏾
About 27:58 Wow, that hurt my heart!
I had not thought about the difference between Jew & Gentile quite in this way. Not the way he explained it about 24 minutes in. (About it being a REAL division that GOD had made, as opposed to our divisions of ethnicity, which are arbitrary.)
28:48 Oh, he's crying!
The Bible sufficiently gives us the Truth regarding the church's responsibility to protect the lives of the oppressed.
I love this man!! He is my brother!!
What a great message. I love this brother. He's got it right. God bless him.
Oh yeah. The Lord sent me here. I know this will be powerful. Lord may you rid the world of racism and the sin that plagues us today.
Amen brother! I too left my predominantly single ethnic church to a more multi ethnic church and seek even more diversity not only in race but all levels of social, economic, education, class, political, race, age, gender, etc... basically where you totally feel out of place and others are looking at you with apprehension. BUT WITH ALL THE APPREHENSION and unfamiliarity, TEARS flow down my face when everyone raise their hands and praise our God in one voice. I know that I’m in God’s house and glimpse a bit of what heaven is going to be like...
Well all whites are evil
Wow I am just blown away by the way you teach the word. I listen to a couple of other ministers and teachers that I admire greatly. When I listen to you the scripture comes to my mind from Isiaha 1:18 that states" come, let us reason together." So listening to you , the way the Spirit works through your voice, the subject that you speak on, brings about in me a deeper need for prayer.
An understanding and a call to action within myself. Thank you. I believe things are moving more quickly now and we must prepare ourselves carefully for what's coming on the horizon..
Thank you.
I'm watching this in the middle of June 2020. Yes, we need to be reconciled to God through the shed blood of Christ.
I was reading through some of the comments and only half listening to Voddie when I heard something which I just couldn't agree with, I scrolled up just in time to see him shaking his head and saying an emphatic no! Phew, I then gave him the attention that he deserves, and saved the comments for later.
Yes, peace as described in Scripture is not the cessation of war and violence, it is the binding together. In our case the binding together is the union we have with God and each other through the shed blood of Christ.
The world looks for peace, but only by accepting the Prince of Peace can we have a true, enduring peace, only then can we call each other brother, because we have a friend who sticks closer than a brother.
Glory be to God.
All that I have been frustrated by in the church, the news, conversations, etc. which frustrated me to no end, have been settled in me by Voddie. His faithful strength grounded in the Word of God, has brought great peace and understanding. So thankful to God for this great brother and servant of Christ.
@Russell Gallinat
Ditto!

Why have I not found this minister of God's Word sooner? I have never ever heard about him. This is such a heart provoking video and I always knew in my heart that there was no such thing as race to God. For the Bible teaches us that we are all one blood. So, why is there fights and hate between the races? Because we don't follow Gods Word on how we are supposed to treat one another and live. Parents who have taught their children to hate the same as their parents taught them. And it goes on. Personally, I thought that was all over in these days of education and all the technology we have. But, people lean on the past and it stirs up anger and hate and revenge. Every day is a new day. And everyday we wake up we are blessed because God woke us up. Why can't we all see the blessings He has given us and just love each other like He loves us? He put our eyes in the front of our head to look forward. Not at the past behind us.
This video should be a must-view for everyone. I love how he expounded on the Scriptures. Once we rely on the sufficiency of God’s Word, true racial healing can commence.
Vinaut TV I so agree!! Everyone should have to watch this!! This is my hearts cry is for people to know Christ and to know Christ took care of sin when He went to the cross!! We get so caught up on color of our skin but we are ALL made in His likeness and we are all one human race!!
@@christyfreeland5258 Preach it, sister!

It is so good to hear a Reformed Minister say the Bible is sufficient for our understanding. I've had so many try to push me towards their doctrine. I am convicted that the Bible is sufficient for all I need to follow God's will. There is nothing more in this world I want.
I am so thankful for the gifts the Lord has given Voddie Baucham.
He brings the application out of the Word. I am always humbled as He points to the Lord and convicted as he shows me my sin in the Word.
Amen, Lauren.
@Lauren Dillard very sweet words! 😍❤😍🙏🔥
The most painful thing is when the members of our new family are hateful towards those in the family who look different than them.
I would love to have this man as my Pastor!
Extremely joyed to see so many people here listening after the recent riots and looting. Praise God for leading people to a reliable source to teach this subject.
AMEN ! THE BIBLE IS SUFFICIENT ! I have grown so tired of this Bible study and gotta read this book.. NO! Go directly to the source of our strength! ... so thankful for the preaching of Voddie..so very thankful 💕💖💕💖💕💖💕💖
The most powerful, well-balanced sermon on racial reconciliation.
This guy is awesome. Never seen him before. I'm blown away.
This is absolutely an amazing sermon. I will be subscribing to hear more from this great man of God!
Voddie Baucham you have become one of my most valued theologians not because you are so great but because you love the word of God. I'm white, Canadian, living in Australia and yet am so blessed in that unity of Christ with you. Both my wife and I have different Christian black doctors who actually pray with us, many black friends and many of our favourite comedians are black.(You are quite hilarious as well.) We lived in Philadelphia for three years and enjoyed living in a black neighbourhood and so appreciated our neighbours. We taught in little Christian schools in Uganda for a while. We loved them. What a refresher your expositions are. Race indeed is arbitrary for Christians. We would love to have you speak in Western Australia some day. Yes as soon as we become Christians we participate in a unity that already exists, since it is earned by our dear Lord.
I Love this brother of our GOD!! I'm glad he is my brother!!! Very highly intelligent man he is!!! Unite in one!!! We are one body in Christ Jesus!!!
This man is brilliant. It seams to me he is the only one I hear that can bring this Country together. He should be on CNN and FOX every day. God bless him
This brother's speech is right on! Love it. Beautiful!
Voddie Baucham- Quite a pastor and man. Need more brothers like him.
@27:15 woah. Had to stop and listen again. In relation to the Holy of Holies: “You who were WAY back there have been brought near”. Thank you Voddie for this word.
Honest confession, this sermon brought me to tears. Thank you for this much needed address during these times.
@Matthew Bennier
Tears shed from hearing the Word are some of the best!
😂❤😂
What a great man. Blessed to have found his ministry.
I don't worry about all this reconciliation stuff. I respect this pastors heart to follow God's leading in this matter. The real problem is people not walking in the Spirit. If God is big enough we ignore offense and just love people as God has commanded us.
Love this. May God heal our unbelieving hearts.
This sermon made me realize how much I had just adopted the dialogue about this from my culture. The point that Christ is sufficient and had already achieved racial reconciliation through his sufficient sacrifice and resurrection is powerful. Oh how we need to look to Christ in our country for true understanding of each other.
The Gospel is a beautiful thing.
The truth shall set us free !! Thank you Jesus for all you’ve done may we as your children be the light to this world and allow your Spirit which dwells within us be our guide and leads us and show Gods love to All !! Bless you Brother
I attended a protestant fellowship in an American camp in Saudi Arabia which was pastored by a southern Baptist preacher. It was opened to all evangelical Christians. You name a nationality, it's probably there! Chinese, Filipinos, blacks, whites, Arabs, etc... they were all there!
The pastor wonderfully and amazingly shepherded them all in a biblical way giving everyone the same opportunity and allowing everyone of their culture when it comes to clothing, food, and music whenever given a chance to stand up upfront. It was like a piece of heaven. There were no racial issues of any sort. Nothing. Now that is God's grace at work.
Besides, in heaven, it will be more like that.
A M E N..I tell everyone this when a new book comes out about how to better your life w/this, that or the other. THE BIBLE IS ALL WE NEED.!
"The Bible is sufficient." -Dr. Baucham... Glory to God!
He is the man. best living communicator of gods Word in my opinion. Al Mohler Steve Lawson very high also check them out!
@@uncasunga1800 thank you.
So glad this man of God showed up on my list. He speaks truth and I have happily subscribed to his channel. We can never have too much truth nor too much from the Word of God.
Wow Amen. As a white Christian female I have been searching for an answer. Today I got it. I am so grateful for this man.
I want to know why Voddie is not a household name? If there has ever been such a time as this - it is now. To be so encouraged, excited, convicted and loved is a true God-thing. Voddie delivers a message we all need.
A Christain deconstructs Marxist 'social justice' ideology without insult, without rancor, without accusation, or condemnation.
Just a matter of fact..."The Bible IS suficient."
This is one of the most inspiring presentations I have heard in years. Thank you Voddie.
THIS "Pentecostal" IS taking "a praise break"!!!
Voddie Baucham is becoming one of the most consequential voices for the gospel in a time when the world most needs it!
I didn't understand you perspective. But the more I listened to you the more I appreciate what you are doing. You are breaking down barriers that should have never been put up and doing it in faith. A true showing of faith by works!
thank you this is AMAZING!! This is Perfect for our times now in 2020 prophetic teaching from 2019.
"The blood of Christ is sufficient to reconcile us."
This hits me so hard every time.
Dear Brother Voddie
These sermons are a balm to my soul as they point me to scripture
For years now I have been praying that the Father would grant me a love for Him and for His Word
And I want to encourage you in your work if possible
As you open his Word and as I reflect on these and other sermons - I realise Our Gracious Father in Heaven is answering this prayer
My denomination is wrestling with these issues here in South Africa
As a white South African there is much for which I have needed to repent
And there is much I need to continue to lay at the foot of the cross
But scripture is sufficient
and Christ's forgiveness is complete
As I continue on this path I am convinced that this new Ethnic Gnosticism and debates on how to achieve social justice will not bring healing but destruction
I have experiences of walking in this reconciliation with my black brothers and sisters here in Southern Africa - where I have not understood the language but have felt at home as we worship Christ together
I continue to pray for your return to health.
One day perhaps, if your return to Africa we may meet and I can encourage you in person
But otherwise it will be part of my testimony at the heavenly banquet that you pointed me on in my sojourney towards Gods word and to The Father
So glad he touched on the fact that the wealthy people need Christ just as much as the poor people do! (I can't explain how, but you could hear the awkward silence.)
It confirms my theory that Dr. Baucham does sermons to appease and not challenge, because his university has to make the donors feel comfortable. And, the thousands of comments reveal a ton of fragile egos who can't handle the truth.

One Father, one identity - child of God, one tribe - the body of Christ, one way of life, one shared destiny - the new heaven and earth.
Amen, my brother in Christ.
I appreciated this talk. If you are here in 2020 (now June) and watched this video you see we are still in the middle of this and looking for Truth. I am here because of a (white) friend who sincerely wanted to know what could she do and what should the church do to help the hurting. She is a Christian and she has printed out documents and listened to many talks and read articles and has 'the list' of books recommended to "white people" that she should read in order to understand. She is sincere in wanting to examine her own self and to help. She is willing to listen and wants to have conversations but yes, like Voddie Baucham says it takes a willingness to be available to talk about these things and to answer questions and to share experiences with others who have a different life experience than you with those who really want to know. They want help. She wanted help. I saw the amount of effort she put into trying to be informed before our discussion and I wondered how am I trying to know more too? So I started watching talks and listening to podcasts on this topic today and came across this. (I already know Voddie Baucham from t
"The Children of Ceasar" 2 video set which God used to bring me back to homeschool again years ago.) But today, I love this talk because in it Voddie better articulated what I said and felt but wasn't hearing from others- that Christ is enough. God sees and has provided what we need- Jesus. If God could make into one Jews and Gentiles through the blood of Jesus--- what more do we need? Other things might be helpful but they are not necessary because we have Jesus. And we can know more about Him and about God by knowing the Bible that God left for us. May we be willing to make the time and to be uncomfortable or inconvenienced (perhaps) to have conversations through relationship with other people of all backgrounds about this. I loved scrolling through the comments here as well as they echo other statements from his teaching. Thank you for sharing.
I could only imagine how hard it would be, the truth is people tend to go where they are welcomed, alot of blacks would not be welcomed and COMFORTABLE worshiping. Congrats to you that stepped away from the mold peeling away colour and creed knowing that we are all one in Christ, The Church!
I really admire and respect Dr. Baucham, have for a long time, but I disagree with the application of his message. Ephesians 2 is referring to the unity of the body of Christ (the Church). So the blood of Christ serves as THE uniting factor for us who are in him (hallelujah!). BUT, the issue of race extends beyond the church into society. And the reality is that a lot of the racial animus in the world is perpetuated by people who are not in him and have not been given an ear to hear the gospel. Thus, we need laws, accountability, and constant checks to keep the racial tension to a minimum. Obviously theres so much more to this debate, but nobody reads long posts so I'll stop lol. Also, Dr. Baucham confirmed a longtime suspicion of mine that he was a Que Dog!
As a ( mostly) white person who grew up in a poor black neighborhood, I assure you that the constant focus on racial error is THE most significant reason that our society has not yet come together. It's time to move forward and stop fixating on the past. When you traumatize a black child with graphic details of slavery, you wound him anew and reinforce epigenic damage.
There would not be a need to focus on racial error IF blatant racism was still not happening today! I agree with eking3591 that the issue of race extends into society and we cannot dismiss it. We do need to stand up for justice and address problems on the individual and systemic level. There is nothing erroneous about that.
What you also miss is that, until people come to the point of accepting the Love of God, they have no room for reconciliation. Reconciliation only comes after people are open to let go of previous sin, forgive and embrace one another. There are laws in America today which prevents discrimination against people based on race, religion and all. How people act however is dependent on the condition of their heart. Christ is the answer to society as well not just those who are in Him.
@@YSLRD Racism and social injustice still happens to this very day some of the people you are concerned about are victims of it ,and are living it as week speak as a Christian who lives every body, you can't mask and cover up slavery it happened it's history ,it's how you handle the issues,
@@Essie914 Totally agree God is a God of love and justice ,thats what I read in the bible.

WOW. TEARS. I WISH I COULD GIVE MY TESTIMONY OF THIS: CHANGE IN CULTURAL MINISTRY, FRIENDSHIPS ECT. ABBA COVERS RACISM FROM THE BEGINNING. “Do not mistreat or oppress a foreigner, for you were foreigners in Egypt. Exodus 22:21. As a multicultural minister i agree with this Man of God. What a breath of fresh air to have a brother in Christ pound home such a timeless, universal truth. Our Father has blessed me through your message.
I didn't truly have a relationship with my mom until she rededicated her life to Christ. And rather then talk about the pain of the past we fellowship with the God of the present. Her last five years on earth was freedom from the bondage of the past. Same with race, I see your beautiful melanin but I see the Lord in you more brightly and we are sisters and brothers with Christ as our guiding light. That is when I'm color blind.
Why were you color blind???
Wow! If this doesn't light your fire your wood's wet. 🔥 🙏
I'm agnostic but still a fan of Voddie Baucham.
I just came across this today, and I praise our God for this message. Bless God for this man!
The Bible is SUFFICIENT. Period. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
After listening to some strange discussions (there were elements of truth in them), I knew I had to find something Voddie's said, not because he is the perfect expositor, but because when matters are obviously made clear in the Bible, I think he stands firm on them than to resolve to his feelings and read those into the Scriptures.
See, Voddie when you start telling folk that individuals are not a collection of facts, but unique, distinct persons! That's where you'll not be liked, but that's partly why I like teachings such as this one.
Yes, and I suppose you subscribe to the Cesare Borgia version of Christ as well?
Pst Baucham, brother in Christ, thank you. You spoke Biblical truth to me in fatherly love at a conference at FWBBC many years ago, and it changed the course of my life. Now, in this season, that same Truth is still as strong and as timely. Christ is sufficient. He Himself is our peace. May we receive the racial reconciliation already provided by His blood!!
Pastor I've come late to the table I didn't know there was a black pastor who was a true Bible believer as the final word on our lives GOD BLESS YOU I'm a new follower
This was great and reaffirmed the truth and sufficiency of God's Word. Thank you. I was struck by the hypocrisy of those who are telling us we need to reject stereotypes but who are the same ones promoting books to help us better understand a group -- all based on stereotypes!! Maranatha.
Powerful.. I know a few men I'd like to see this video. Everyone NEEDS to not just hear this sermon, but see it. Voddie never disappoints. Some ppl admire stars like Johnny Depp or Tom Brady, but it's guys like Voddie and John Macarthur that I look at like that. I like MMA and boxing, but- Psalm 49:20
Amen! Christ is enough! God's word is sufficient
Such a good sermon though. I would serve this man!
Serve Christ alone
Thank you Father, I needed this message this week. A great reminder that Christ has overcome all.
Awesome man of God! This is what needs to be taught & preached. Instead most churches are aligning with the world view. I decided many years ago I will never go back to a one race church. I wanted my children & myself to be in a multi ethnic church community. I've been in all black churches where they talked racist things behind the pulpit & I've been told my sons & I weren't welcome in an all white church because my sons were brown skinned. These people were never saved to begin with & never knew Jesus Christ.
Love the part where you speak on God's word being sufficient. There is a trend among some groups to elevate christian author thought to the same or greater level then the word of God itself.
33:-34 I am weeping listening to this. I had the awesome priviledge to be "at home" in Honduras in the mountains, where I couldn't understand the language at all, but being with the Hondurans in the mountains in a church with hay as a floor and plastic chairs, I felt the awesome presence of the Holy Spirit that I was weeping with out words, knowing I was at home with Brothers and Sisters in the family of God. Thank you Dr. Voddie for confirming the truth that we are one because of Jesus Christ, uniting in Faith, Christ is enough, what He did on the cross is enough. Please keep preaching God is anointed on you.
Thank you for you and your families sacrifice, trials and tribulations y’all went thru in order to stand firm in the faith. You preach with such BOLDNESS.. amen brother!
Mr. Bachaum, said "the bible is sufficient" for racial reconciliation. Every conservative believer will agree, but the bible is not on trial in the Racial Reconciliation discussion, the application of the Bible is. It is a clever sleight of hand to exchange Conservative’s behavior with God’s word by implying criticism of conservative behavior is a criticism of scripture itself. The word is sufficient to attain RR… if we apply it. If we ignore RR for 200 years while perverting the Gospel to exclude slaves and justify man stealing, then the Bible must be exposited to those that are misinterpreting it. Was the bible insufficient during the reformation? Were Calvin’s institutes adding to the biblical canon? If there is a gross misinterpretation of scripture, which I think we can agree American Christian Racism is, theologians should exposit scripture (via books or otherwise) to correct that misinterpretation. Sociology texts and historical literature are only useful in establishing facts for those living in a bubble and ignorant of the impact and degradation of American Racism.
No one is ignorant of the atrocities committed. Reconciliation has already been achieved through the blood of Christ. I need nothing else to have me reconciled to my brothers and sisters in Christ. You're also misrepresenting brother Bauchum.
@Iroquois Pliskin it's not good practice to speak on behalf of another person's emotions, nor should you speak on behalf of whoever "us" is. "a true brother wouldn't say these things" do you truly believe there are things true brothers would never do? Would true brothers enslave human beings? Jon Edwards did. Is he a "true brother"? We must be careful when accusing people, quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to anger.
I do take offense to Pastor Bacham's perspective. I agree reconciliation was achieved on the cross however, as he stated, we are not and have not historically walked in that reconciliation. In the eagerness to combat what he believes is a dangerous heading he and many other conservative believers are emphasizing the fact that Christ reconciled the church across all lines. Spectacular, I agree, but Christ's reconciliation was in effect in 1777 when Christians were buying and selling slaves actively participating in human trafficing while justifying it with the bible. Were we reconciled then? Yes, but not walking in it. So clearly just because Christ put to death the enmity between all of the elect doesn't mean all elect will love their brother and sisters as they love themselves. That is what the wise advocates for Racial Rec are promoting. Most of this talk was proving that Christ's work on the cross sucessfully erradicated the barrier in the body, precious little addressed the willfil ignoring of Christ's work by the early american church when human trafficing. Again I'm not agruing that Christ or the bible is insufficent, quite the opposite, He and it is sufficent and we should treat it as such but we haven't.
@@MH-uh3hw has the American church been "walking in that reconcilation"? Voddie himself said we need to walk in it, so acknowledging it is not sufficent, we must also walk in it, yes? So have we been? Churches, schools, and neighborhoods are as segregated as ever and some more so. The Chruch should be the exception but it isn't. Voddie screaming "we are reconciled" from the roof tops is fine but is that reconciliation reflected in our body? I think we can agree it is not.
As Always, Great Sermon Mr. Baucham.! We love you.
We need more people (and comment sections) like this.
I thank the Lord for blessing this man with the desire to learn truth so that he can spread to those of us who will listen. With what's going on in the world today, God reminds us who love him that we are united in him and not united in ethnicities. The Love of God teaches us to all be one in Christ and that's something the world needs more of.....God.
