Remove all the rocks from the stream and build a rock dam dig out the silt place it in front of the rocks it should work well

I do the same thing in Canada. (Don’t get caught here though. 😂)
Make a crescent shape with the round of the crescent pointed up river out of rocks, the inside of the crescent dig out and use as your “damn” it’s an easier more natural way to do it as well. It makes for good fish habitat to spawn as well.

I’ve got mixed feelings about this. Looks cool, but cutting off an irrigation source like that must have sucked for farmers that rely on the bit of water.

      True!
But it only matters during the time of building, after it goes back to normal ( the same amount of water that goes in comes out).

i think by stopping water like this, you are encouraging it to penetrate under the earth into the underground waters instead... so yeah there might be consequences downstream although i'm not sure. it's not as simple !

@@parcoursinternationalMarocain it just creates a little water fall at the end so same amount of water still goes downstream

It’s actually good for the fish to do this, maybe not as big as these guys have done.
Fish like slow moving shaddey water to spawn there eggs. If they introduced some fish here they would likely thrive! Plus all the natural debris from up river (food for the fish) would collect here.
