DLSS, FSR, frame gen , really just gives game developers an excuse to be lazy about optimization in games, nowadays its hard to find a properly optimized game that was released recently, I mean we get game min reqs that say 1080p medium with AFMF2 and FSR.

Just to clairfy.. FSR 3 and DLSS frame generation could be seen as "good" frame generation since it has access to motion vectors, post processing and hud element data, so it can so a better job at generating the frames and predicting motion/animations. AFMF/2 and lossless scaling can be seen "bad" frame generation since it has zero access to game data, and just relying on the final output video signal, sort of the same way TVs do frame interpolation, but with less lag.

i'm testing afmf2 because fsr fg do not exist but inputlag it's terrible on r7900xt /native 1440p ultra setting + pathtracing max i have 13-15 true fps (25-30 with afmf2) you need fsr in performance mode and you have a poor image quality because afmf2 with slow input framerate have many artefact and fsr performance is very bad quality afmf2+fsr performance mode == very bad graphics quality experience and input lag it is better on r7900xtx but i don't think it's very different experience that on my r7900xt/r7 5800x.
I do think that AMD is what's best for gamers with a budget. Because building an all amd build with modern parts is quite possible within 800 dollars US because of the upscaling technology .
I love this card!! I have the exact same model. I got it for 700$ cause a guy got a 4090 and didn't want the 7900xtx anymore. Such a beast of a performer and second hand the deals are crazy.
Honestly in Wukong chapter 6, riding the cloud was so demanding I was barely able to get 60fps while riding the cloud even with FG on (usually got about 120fps with Frame Gen). I then turned on AFMF and Frame Gen and it not only upped my FPS but it honestly didn’t seem that bad. In a couple boss battles the artifcating got a little out of hand, but using both Frame Gen and AFMF was certainly playable 😂
back when playing mw3 when frame gen was new-ish i was getting around 800 fps in 1080p with my 6950xt, surprisingly enough the input lag did not feel that bad at all.

I noticed that a lot of people dont play with its settings but i believe it has a setting to lower the latency like Nvidia Reflex does. If you'd be reviewing that can you please try and share your experience? ❤
As someone who plays at 4k 60fps, frame generation isn't really a good option for me because I don't have vrr support on my TV. I do want to upgrade but $800 for a new TV hasn't really been a priority, especially if I am going to need a new gpu in the next year or two because apparently the rtx 4080 can't cut it for new titles 😢
Its neat that this is still playable. I kinda want to have Afmf2 or lsfg with 0,5 and 0,3 FG, so u get less fps but also less artifacts. just to bump u from like 40 fps to 60 in some games. Btw. Here's an interesting idea: You use both the rtx 4080 super and 7900 xtx. Use xtx for the video output and then enable dlss in-game? I've seen someone do it playing cyberpunk so it should be possible, maybe?
lossless scaling has settings to go 2x 3x or 4x + you can go even more by having a game with built in fg + add another one like lukes mods so you can basically have 6x the fps artefacts and delay galore but it works ;)
Legion 7 RX6600M. I updated the driver that supports FMF 2, but the FMF activation option did not appear in the amd adrenaline settings, does everyone have such a problem on laptops?
I actually use afmf2 in squad all the time its amazing. I cap my frames at 84 (i have a 170hz monitor) and the game feels way smoother than without afmf2. Also no noticeable input lag.
Once this is refined, this is the way. This will make it so we render games at like 120fps but can push 480Hz or 960Hz monitors for perfect motion clarity
Use radeon anti lag in combined and cap the frames through rivatuner ( 1 or 2 fps below the half of your monitor hertz) In this case you have minimal input lag

Black Myth Wukong performance makes Starfield look optimized. Honestly I get better perfomance on Starfield than I do on Kingdom Come Deliverance.
