WoW absolutely one of the best video i have seen from FS2020 on aerobatic flying, i have fly in real this aircraft from Sweden to Poland one time and even to Norway, know a friend in Sweden he still own, and fly a AN-2 from LY, you are the best i have seen, i will try also to learn in my own FS2020, how to train such flying..
Thank you for your very kind words! I'm glad you enjoyed it =) Flying the Antonov from Sweden to Poland must have been cool! There is nothing like big, old radial engines. Doing aerobatics with it in the sim is actually easier than one might think. You just have to watch your airspeed (especially on entering and exiting a manuever) and you need to pull smoothly with not too much back pressure (to keep the G's down and don't overstress the airframe). When you try to do a cuban eight you will need a lot of rudder (almost all of it) to get it rolled over in time. I hope this helps =)
That's very high and kind praise! Thank you very much =) That's certainly the first time someone mentioned me and majestic in the same sentence 😄 Thank you for being here too! I'm glad you like the videos and find them useful =)
Loved this video! I am usually looking to hear experts' opinions on new aircraft, but I really enjoyed being able to just watch you demonstrate and fly the aircraft with no commentary, so I could see what it would be like to fly it if I owned it. I also loved the ground-view replay at the end! I could watch videos like that all by themselves! Nice zen background while working, lol. Thanks for the great video and demonstration, it helped me evaluate whether I should get it (and I think I should!).
Thank you very much for your kind comment! I'm glad you enjoyed the video =) I always intend to only add one or two passes from the ground view to keep the videos shorter but end up using most of it =D I can highly recommend the An-2 it's a wonderful recreation and a lot of fun to fly!
Congratulations on your 450 subscribers I'm happy to say that I'm on that list, I think you deserve to have more, I enjoy your videos very much. Thanks for sharing them with us. The AN-2 is definitely a great iconic biplane. I'm very pleased with what I see and hear, it seems to me that it is very well done.
Another great video... 🙂 Your slow flypast at the end had me wondering if a stall was imminent... but you showed how the Antanov 2 crawls along gracefully. I bought the plane as well.
Thank you very much! I'm glad you enjoyed it =) It's really surprising how slow the Antonov can get. There are a few good videos of real ones, that almost look stationary with a bit of head wind. I hope you'll have at least as much fun with it as I have, I think it's a wonderful depiction =)
Thank you very much! I'm glad you enjoyed it =) It's great to hear from a real An-2 pilot! Did you get a chance to test the sim version? I would love to know if it comes close to the real one.
Thank you very much for your continuous support =) Sorry, I think the sentence I wrote didn't make much sense 😅 What I meant to say is, that 450 of you are currently subscribed, which is WAY more than I ever expected! And I'm really glad that so many of you enjoy my videos =) I think there are currently 35 videos + a few shorts, so it might take a while till we get to 450 videos 😄
@@monostripezebras That would be fun! I'm actually working on a landing compilation at St Barths. I'm not sure when it'll be ready or how many planes will be included, but hopefully it'll make for a fun video =) If enough people enjoy it, a compilation at Lukla would be fun too as a follow up.
Your flying licence will be immediately revoked, and to make matters worse, you have endangered public waters and transport routes! This is what would happen in good old Germany after this demonstration... 😂 I have been to an airshow in Oppenheim 2005 myself and recognised the scenery immediately. The first time I saw an AN-2, I was a 10-year-old boy lying ill in a hotel in Romania, which was obviously in the flight path of a military airfield, which I didn't know. An Antonov suddenly flew very low over the hotel roof in the end approach, I was frightened and at the same time fascinated by this unique engine sound. This is reproduced quite well in the FS2020, at least in the interior and during the flybys when it moves away from the camera. I think the Airborn was a bit too fast, the model seems a bit overpowered to me, but maybe it was true, as she was not carrying much load. Otherwise a top model, for this money anyway! I love the Aunt Anna 🥰
Haha that's too true 😅 What a small world...I've been at the 2005 Oppenheim airshow too =) It was the first time I ever saw warbirds fly and since then I've been obsessed with them! I even got a couple of parts of Red 7 from its landing accident a few weeks later. That must have been cool! The sound of the AN-2 is very unique for sure and I think they have done it justice in the sim =) My first memory of an An-2 was when I was still in kindergarten, I saw one at a local airshow. It had a very smokey startup which I thought was cool. I drew the Antonov in kindergarten the following week and completely scribbled over it to simulate the smoke till you couldn't see the plane at all 😅🙈 You could be right, it looks quite speedy for an An-2. But on this flight, it was light and I used relatively high power settings, so I'm not sure. It's definitely a lot of fun =)
Thank you very much =) The ICAO code is EDGP. It's a very nice freeware scenery available here: flightsim.to/file/28032/edgp-flugplatz-oppenheim-aero-club-oppenheim-guntersblum-germany-upgrade
Thank you, I'm glad you like it =) I agree, the Antonov is amazing, it's one of my favorite planes in the sim at the moment. For the ground views I use the showcase camera. There is the option to lock the camera on the plane and move it to a position of your liking. My usual process is to record my flight with the freeware Flight Recorder available on flightsim.to and set up the ground view camera when I replay the flight.
@@vintagesimulations Agree - I have only just tried it yesterday and it is way too clean with flaps up as well as down. It's a complete dragmaster in real life.
@@harryspeakup8452 Thanks for your input, it's always great to hear from you =) I hope that will get fixed in an update. What I found, for some reason the flaps of the GPS version are more effective. Did you get the chance to fly the real deal? If so, is the rest of the flight model realistic/believable?
Easier said than done 😅 You're right, I should keep the ball in the center, however with the Antonov even with full rudder you won't get the ball in the center on steep turns. What I found out after the video, it can be done with counter aileron input, I'm however not sure how realistic that is.
I think the sounds overall are incredible. For the most part it sounds exactly how an An-2 should. However, it could be slightly louder (currently it sounds like you are wearing a good headset), including the winding up of the inertia starter. And the startup sequence (for a lack of better words) could be a bit longer. But please remember it's a 10-15€ plane and you get a hell of a lot for your money. I know plenty of addons with triple that price that don't even come close in terms of sounds (and other features).
@@vintagesimulations There hasn't been a good plane in MSFS that even comes close to some freeware that FSX/P3D had when it comes to sound. @@cheetahfish Sorry but that's just not true! There are plenty of really good sounding planes in MSFS. And I think to call everyone who enjoys them "newcomers" is just ignorant.
