We have so much talent here we are spoiled and rest of world has no idea and what’s funny is we listen to her a lot. Makes you proud to be Australian 🇦🇺🇦🇺 on ya tash
So proud that you don’t know they dont identify as a female or male ? Lol that’s what’s funny to me .
Australia is rocking this channel right now and I’m loving it! Keep doing what you do TSR!
Australia in general dominates the world of reaction channels because we're so eager to get validation and request a lot lol.
@@Hardcastle83 I’d say it’s more a mix of having a large amount of talent not know overseas, so it is a great resource for genuine first reactions, and Australians being proud and wanting to promote local talent that we feel is worthy of international recognition.
Where we found her?
I was walking down Burke St mall in Melbourne, Australia circa 2014 or 2015 and heard someone absolutely shredding the guitar. And here was this small girl, in baggy shorts, a giant tshirt with a backwards cap and a sign that said Tash Sultana in bright green letters.
I looked her up later because even though buskers on Burke St are pretty good, this chick was next level. Like unbelievably talented. All she had online back then were videos like this on UA-cam and Facebook.
A year or so later Jungle was everywhere on the radio. Still an incredible song.
I heard her in the same place about that time, her little amp pumping out you could hear her from the other end of the mall, possibly the best busking performance I've ever heard. Didn't realise it was her when Jungle first came out, only figured it out after hearing an interview where she talked about busking and I put 2 and 2 together.
I heard her there two I went to see my brother busk at 4 and she came in at 5 and just demolished it the police had to shut the street down one afternoon there was so many people
Thanks for sharing. Buskers can often be incredibly talented. Tash has some fantastic music
Yup, Tash is an Australian. There's some mad talent going on down here! Watching your videos makes me realise just how much music that's widely known in and popular here Australia just isn't known at all overseas.
Tones and I and Tash both from Victoria In Oz, both started as buskers in Melbourne
Tash Sultana is one of my favourite musicians. So talented and able to play around 20 instruments. They are a one person band using. Loop station. They have a song with Matt Corby and another with Josh Cashman. Both these musicians are amazing to listen to as well.
It’s amazing how many claim to love Tashs music but can’t be bothered to learn about them , I don’t averse with a lot of this stuff but I also don’t agree with disrespecting someone’s wish’s and how they choose to live their life . 👏 to you for having that respect.
Tash and Matt Corby work together a lot. I think he has produced some of her songs. Tash’s performances on Triple Js ‘Like a Version’ are brilliant too.
What pisses us aussies off but makes us laugh as well.... is that we have SO MUCH TALENT, in so many areas. Music, acting, sport, entertainment, food, coffee etc. Yet the world treats us like we are some poor arse end country. We have ALWAYS fought above our weight. Whether our ANZACS or our entertainers, sports people etc. .... yet people treat us as idiots. Sick of it, to tell you the truth lol
That's part of what makes us Australian. Always the underdogs putting the haters in their place. It's what drives us to do great things. You can't take that away 👍
that's because many Australians who travel act like total drunken idiots overseas - it doesn't do much for the countries reputation around the world.
Her cover of Electric Feel on triple J Like A Version is fire.
Mate the talent in Australia is never ending just think off the ones you have not heard off the rabbit hole is deep love the channel
Tash brings me to tears. Going for busking to dominating mainstage at the biggest festivals. So much heart and talent.
I had the privilege of seeing her perform live. It was so much fun. She is awesome. 🧡 The stage set up and lighting was also lit. It was psychedelic colors and stars everywhere 💛 It had such an ambiance and good vibes.
This is one of my requests, yay!!!!!! I saw her busking on the streets of Melbourne about 5 years ago and she is amazing!!!!!!!! I haven’t even watched it yet because I’m so excited!!!!!!!
She certainly is Australian bro and just like Tones, they are both excellent musicians. By the way my hats of to you for getting into more experimental Australian singers and musicians of late .
The “Tiny Desk” session of hers has 3 brilliant pieces, simply a must watch!. Her 12 string number is masterful.
Big Man, being an Aussie several generations removed from Tash, I was unaware of her or her prodigious talent. But now I'm not. Thanks.
I fell in love with Tash back when this was first released. In her latest you really get to see how she uses her voice as the instrument. I have put a request for Crop circles in my patrion request please take a look this girl is genius.
They wouldn’t appreciate you calling them a she or her or girl , it amazes me that that their fans don’t know anything about trash . Listen to this song and you can hear it . They don’t identify is she or he .
Thanks so much for reacting to my request! Tash is amazing as you now know. It was a toss up between this song, Jungle, and Notion, another home recording which is just as brilliant. Thanks again, made my day 🙂
Tash is next level. Saw her live several years ago at Margaret River with Peirce Brothers opening. Amazing gig.
I have never clicked so fast!!! Love Tash so much🔥🇦🇺
seeing all your aussie content makes me so damn proud to be an aussie, and i dont usually get to feel that. i grew up with bliss, hilltop and the rest. tash i met in a bar i worked in in byron and her music is just phenomenal, thanks again for showing off our artists.
Loving this- her voice the looping all the music. Wow!
I’m so happy for this reaction! I knew you would love Tash after seeing your reaction to Matt Corby. She’s such a cool Aussie artist - her voice is the mix of femininity and grunge. Her concert in Melbourne was up there with the best live performances I’ve seen.
Ive been listening to Tash for years, she is amazing and glad to see more people discovering her
Have supported her busking many times at Byron bay in New south Wales. She is so talented and young. Another rising aussie star.
Great review!!..What you viewed was a home production which was sent to JJJ Radio in Australia..The rest is "HERSTORY"..Actually I do believe she identifies as "they"...I heard this live at The Bourke St Mall in Melbourne , it literally sent a chill up my spine..
Mate your expression when you heard her sing on top of all the rest was priceless, Tash goes alright hey 👍
She's international and should be easy to catch live when Covid allows. There was a huge photo of her up in Times Square recently. She's pretty big.
She is touring around the world this year and will be in America in June/July.
They are pretty big and they don’t identify as male or female , you’d think they’re fans would atleast know that and respect that .
Tash is one of the most gifted and talented musical prodigies out there. Watching her perform is nothing short of mind blowing. Thanks for doing a reaction on her. Hope it's not the last 😊
I’m so glad she’s finally getting reactions! I’ve been digging her for a few years
For a few years and you don’t know they don’t identify as female or male ?
I look everywhere in the world for good music to just realise I took the best music in the world for granted cause I was sounded by it my whole life. C’MON AUSSIES
Mate I liked this video before I even watched it lol...... Tash Sultana is AMAZING..... shows what people can do these days from their bedroom, as long as they have the talent :D
Tash is awesome, so talented. In an Australian accent ….Tash as in cash. Sultana as in Sultarna 🇦🇺🇦🇺
You rule bro, im an aussie and had you in my feed peepin hilltops and now tash, you're in for a delicious cultural treat mate, we have alot of briliant musicians in oz, our new stuff is dope but our old gold is sweet too.
She is so incredibly amazing!!! There is so much talent in Australia 🇦🇺 and the singer you thought she sounds like is "Tones and I" another Aussie. Love love love your reactions ♥️
My dude, she is Australian. And on the vocals, she's using a vocal harmonizer. It's all her, she's legendary.
You're quickly becoming, "That Yank, that reacts to Aussie tunes". Keep it up mate, we fkn love it. \m/
Damn! I haven’t heard her for ages. I guess life got in the way & that’s my bad. Thanks for the reconnect. So very, very talented ❤️
Tash Sultana and Tones And I actually have the same manager - both cut their teeth busking across Melbourne/Australia and have become internationally renowned for their shows + music. Melbourne is such a breeding ground for great music across the world.
Tash is incredible. Such talent, heart, and soul. They really do epitomize music.
Ren(The Big Push) and Mike Love are similarly great talents.
Tash really has their own special musical genre
I have to give credit to UA-cam for finding Tash for me.
This was one of those rare times UA-cam recommended something I ended up loving.
Back then, I think the video only had a few thousand views too.
She's a legend
Best reaction to Tash Sultana mate! Love how hooked you are to the hook!🤙 I was the same dude... I couldn't get it out of my head either! You can truly see your appreciation of the building of her song with the loop pedal and mixer, which is great but the icing on top is your dope reaction to her voice too! You sir, really appreciate the uniqueness of her voice and lets not forget the cheeky little runs she throws out there too! Wicked reaction man!✌
One of my favourites from my area this was in her lounge room her brother is running around .. amazing talent
Gday mate I remember when I first herd that drop live on the radio JJJ I had to pull the car over and give the song my full attention. And is still fire to this day
I'm so happy you've discovered Tash. I adore the song Notion, which is one of their best songs.
Also, not sure where you are but she is playing the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival 2022 in Tennessee in June.
It’s my home girl Vanessa for the win (Melbourne Australia). She is amazing live.
Tash Sultana is an Australian singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, music producer and engineer, described as a "one-person band". Sultana rose to international prominence with their 2016 single "Jungle", which was voted into third place in Triple J's Hottest 100 countdown of 2016. Peace out
Anybody showing off her awesomeness got my vote
She is amazing a true talent
My favorite part was the end "that just pissed me off, she is just soo good"
I feeeeeeeeeeel that omg. Tash is amazing tho, i recommend checking her LIVE!!
I think your word is RAW she is fabulous x
Tash played in Fremantle a few years back and she absolutely blew everyone away with her talent and that unique voice. She is an incredible musician and her guitar playing was energetic, powerful and yet sublime to listen too. I'm a huge fan of any guitar and I definitely think Hendrix was clapping from above.
Sitting here just waiting for your reaction to come. Just like the first time I ever watched her play this haha. Love it! Outstanding talent she is. Still underrated here in Aus
Tash is so cool. I’ve never seen them live, but I would love to.
Yep a 45 to old Aussie, never heard of her, have now thanks alot that singer reactions
This is great - glad to see you give her a go!
Aussie Aussie Aussie 💯🇦🇺
funny you say Tones in similar, they both started as buskers here in Australia and quite often see them busking on the street here in Byron Bay. For similar looping style please check out Kimbra "settle down" she sang on Gotyes "somebody that I use to know"
if you haven’t already you need to check out her tiny desk concert it is absolutely incredible
Omfg! The guitar 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
I love Tash. ❤
Well here we go with another rabbit hole lol, I'm never gonna get anything done here at work! Oh and btw Nick, love all the videos waiting for me every morning now that you're full time at this! Keep it up!
best country for real music
Hearing her voice for the first time causes the same reaction in everyone 😂
They played this song at my nephews funeral it still brings a tear to my eye
Shes amaaaaaazing!
Tash is my holy grail 💯🙏💫🌙
They are amazing! Absolute best gig I've ever been to, such a talented soul ❤
She be Aussie and amazing!!!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤
She gives me goosebumps every time. Amazing when i saw her live in Sydney. So glad you have been introduced to her. Love your reactions i watched so far, spot on.
Great reactions bro. Yeah Australia might not have the quantity of artists but quality of our top tier musicians is absolutely world class. Our mainstream stuff is average. You gotta look for the abstract stuff. Rufus, flume, Tash, the come down edm vibes, acoustic artists and some of the hip-hop is where you find the gold. Elk Road and the Presets are pretty good too. Alison Wonderland. Ok now I ranting on 🤣
"I don't know where y'all found her"
On the streets - literally. They started out busking. They're so insanely talented. The reason they use live looping a lot is because that's the only way to create complex parts if you're just busking on your own.
Our very own Tash! Australia represent :-D
Mad Eddie Hazel vibes from that guitar solo towards the end. I'm from Aus and never heard Tash before, will have to give her stuff a listen after that killer performance.
Tash is brilliant. In terms of great guitar play another to check might be John Butler. His performance of Ocean 🌊 at Fuji rock Japan is epic.
going to philly to see her tonight. her music got me through some of the toughest times. Im eternally grateful for her. I remember watching this way back in like 2017. she plays an array of instruments, i think she said like 25-30, she used to busk in AU when she first started. Her story and her ability to sit on her ashes and realize her place in this world is the most breathtaking thing about her. She is def in her own lane but it is truly the only lane. She challenges others to search for the best in themselves despite their previous fuckups. Shes a true inspiration. Im glad we were able to come together in this reaction vid. I really enjoyed your take.
Tash doing the loops! Sheer genius 💥
Tash actually started her music career downunder the same way Tones and I did. Busking in the streets but... Tash was actually discovered a few years earlier than Tones and I
Her concert page shows all European dates this year, except for June, when she’s doing two USA dates, red rocks (sold out) and a music festival in TN called bonaroo.
You mentioned Tones & I ❤ such a sic artist! She started off busking in Brisbane where I grew up . Another amazing band that started on the streets of Brisneyland are the Cat Empire, you would LOVE them. Two Shoes is probs my favourite song if you wanna check it out
I take it back, you gotta start with The Chariot, it'll have you grinning for days
Yes Sir ❤️🔥
The comparison between her and Tones and I with Dance Monkey is so good. Both amazing Aussie girls plus Tones layers her songs just like this when she is live too.
I remember seeing her when she used to busk on the Melbourne streets. She was amazing then, and has only become more amazing now.
Yeh, she brilliantly unique
Big shout out to the Aussie that's dropping you these sweet recommendations
Dude everything you said about the vid was dead on, exactly what I was thinking but you verbalise shit so well, mad respect.
Discovered her via my brother and UA-cam before she was known.... truly magical music.she recovered from drugs via music..
If she was to perform at the biggest award shows like the Grammys, she'd Definitely Take over the show 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥❤️❤️❤️
My guy! You need to watch their Tiny Desk performance. I guarantee your jaw on the floor for the entire video.
Tash Sultana: Tiny Desk Concert
The guitar got pregnant and had a baby after 9 months….😍😍😍😍
What a roller coaster drive ❤
How your first reaction is trying to figure out their gender had me laughing 😆. Tash uses gender neutral they/them pronouns from what I've seen. People often remark that watching them perform is as if the passion in their soul can't be contained in their body. It spills out everywhere and it is so beautiful! I really like their songs Notion and Higher as well.
The fact that you’re the first person in the top comments that I’ve seen correctly gendering Tash.
@@brizzle711 If you will visit THEIR website and read the bio, you will see that Tash is gender neutral and does not identify as anything. The only reason you would be insisting that "she is a she" is if you are referring to their biological gender. In which case, it seems awfully rude and inappropriate that you're basically going around insisting to the internet that "THERE'S A VAGINA IN THOSE PANTS!!!🤯😲".
@@pruedence110588 gender is a social construct. Sex is science. I’ll follow the science.
@@brizzle711 Nobody asked for your scientific opinion, you are no scientist. All I said in my original post is that Tash prefers to be referred to by the gender neutral "them". Which is specifically why their outward appearance is and is designed to be ambiguous. And you are being willfully disrespectful and making an ass of yourself.
She’s so beautifully gangster 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🔥
Your breakdown and reactions are cool to watch.
Her Black Bird video is a must watch!!
This is why YT is alive and well
She is too good!
Great song. Your reaction was pricelessly similar to my first witness of this enigma.
Happy you found this.. was going to suggest you listen to Tash.. Very talented young lady.. and yeah very unique and 100% pure Aussie.
The best part is she did a song in collab with MATT CORBY YOUR FAVE!! It's called "Talk it Out"
It’s all her! She’s looping herself!!!! She can play every instrument from piano, drums, guitar to trumpet! To watch her live is one of the best concerts I’ve been to!
one of the gigs i have ever been too. we were heading to Hobart and then we found out she was playing, so then tickets straight away. and then next was AWESOME ALL NIGHT
the best gigs *
I love that she plays a Pan flute the way that Ian Anderson from Jethro Tull plays a regular flute.
They wouldn’t appreciate you calling her a she , she is they and they don’t identify as female or male .
@@bobknull7502 when she plays it in greed (fender session) live 👌
