  • If you are a surfer or a kiter, and you are not in Viganj, then you are in Kučište. Of course, the opposite is also true. These two neighbouring places are the centres of adrenaline water sports in Dalmatia. Here, the mistral is so strong that it is difficult to resist it.
Once a small fishing village six kilometres west of Orebić, Kučište is an attractive tourist centre today. In addition to the wave riders, because of the beautiful sandy and pebble beaches, it is also popular among families with children.
You will be delighted with the Mediterranean atmosphere with stone piers, captains’ houses and small ports chiselled in stone, the so-called “vlakas”.
It is worth seeing the impressive Lazarević Baroque Palace and four Baroque churches - St. Anne, the Holy Trinity, St. Lawrence, and St. Luke. If you like long walks, it is good to know that several hiking trails lead to the old settlements of Zukovac and Bilopolje above the town.
