Howdy Bob that hold right stick down is a clutch that is built in to the MFC-03. If you were to rev up the engine and slowly raise the right stick back to normal the clutch will slowly place power to the wheels like a real truck. Also if you remove that J12 jumper you can use the low normal and high ranges in the MFC-03 like normal but still use your 3 speed trans due to the switch for the servo. so you would have a 9 speed forward and a 9 speed in reverse as well. Other than that you nailed the MFC-03 perfectly. Happy trucking and God bless!
@@HobbyconceptsLLC i forgot to add you can change the blinker (Winker) sound as well. Cant remember the stick hold/taps but that is in the MFC-03 manual. Have fun and Gob bless.
Hi, if you have to reset the Tamiya M.F.C-03 unit the instructions are incorrect in D: Default setting ( page 10 ). Where it says hold down the SW1 button and turn on the unit, keep holding down the button until you hear the engine start up regime this may take 20 second's . This maybe helpful to your viewers, because this particular problem left me scratching my head. Happy building. 👍✌️🇬🇧
hi Bob have u had a go at the TX16S transmitter. an flysky receiver . with any of your r.c . its open Tx as well . im still learning it at the moment. i tryed the flysky controller u have ..i couldnt figure it all out . but the TX16S is much easier to us . just haven't seen anything with you using one
Great Video! How the electric actuator work with the radio control? I have installed to MFC and actuator to the Arcso dump truck, and trying to switch the control unit from the 4YWD to the Flysky i6. The Flysky should be similar to your DX6.
Hi Bob, awesome tow truck shared. May I ask if it is possible to add the extra sound effect (eg Fire Truck whistle sound) with MFC03? Or additional sound unit is required. Thanks
No, you lose no travel because when you MAP the unit it reads the travel as 100% no matter what. Also the sticks you change to 75% are the option sticks, not the steering or throttle.
You say in your video that you will send a hard copy of haw to set up a transmitter ? watched your video, but am still getting lost i have t/tow truck radio is Hitec/aurora 9 thanks in anticipation
Hi, lovely video btw. I’ve got a Tamiya Actros 3363 and the MFC 03 as well as the same transmitter as yours. I’ve followed your instructions set by set but for some reason teaching mode A does not configure and I can only start the “engine” and use the hazard lights all other functions do not work. I’ve reset MFC unit to default settings and did teaching mode A many times but my functions are only the ones mentioned above. Unfortunately I’m all new to this and my knowledge and experience is very limited. Do you have any advice?
Quick question, Been out of the sport for a while and looking to get back in. I had always been told you can't use an aircraft RC unit for ground and vice-versa, is that still true or did those laws change? Thanks in advance for any and all information
loving the build on this but i wish you would stop cutting out stuff( i have seen a fair few of you videos and they are all the same) their could be a first time builder that watch'es you video's for tips and they could miss out on something you cut out i have built 2 trucks but you can still always learn from a different perspective and i found out about the driver walking 2 and from the truck via teri wilde video when i used it to set up my spektrum ds6 to a mfu-03 plus a closer view would be better also i watch most of you video's via a 44" tv via a now tv box and i still struggle to see everything. but your videos are great to watch still
It's always a struggle for me to keep the video length down to a reasonable time and plan what to put in and what to leave out. I really appreciate the feedback and will keep trying for that perfect balance. Thank you for watching!
I don't know why Tamiya makes these weird headlights with 5 mm LEDs and tiny holes. I was wondering if I did something wrong on my grand hauler, but no, it's really supposed to be like that.
SOMEDAY....... SOMEONE will figure out a way to flash these Radios - to have a picture of a TRUCK instead of an Airplane!! And.... Add a program so that with the Throttle Centered, Alarms won't go off every time you switch on!!! Yes, I know, these aren't pressing issues. But wouldn't it be nice?
That was very cool the guy walking up and away from the truck

Thanks! Was wondering about the J12 jumper. Now I can experiment with that!

I do plan to show all the MFC features at the end of the last video when everything is done, plus a few other surprises!
@@HobbyconceptsLLC perfect cant wait. Thanks again for the great content.

Hi Bob, Great video. I would like to know how did you find out about the cool sound effect that was not mentioned? 🇨🇦
You can find anything on the internet if you look hard enough. Ha!

would that be from a certain teri wilde upload

Hi I'm kinda new but do you have any recommendations for tamiya lorrys or is the wrecker better I wanna know I'm try a convince my mum
oops forgot to say I have the Tamiya MSC03 from the UK.
Hi Bob, awesome tow truck shared. May I ask if it is possible to add the extra sound effect (eg Fire Truck whistle sound) with MFC03? Or additional sound unit is required. Thanks
The sounds in the MFC unit are fixed so you would need something else to make additional sounds.
Hey Bob your back up light is in the wrong hole in rear lights. that hole is for fog light.
Amazing
Setting 75% in dual rate, dont you lose some travel? is 100% and then say 110/120% dr any good?
No, you lose no travel because when you MAP the unit it reads the travel as 100% no matter what. Also the sticks you change to 75% are the option sticks, not the steering or throttle.
Will the SFR-1 control the actuator, I’d rather go that route over the MFC.
You can still activate the boom lift either direct though the receiver or through the SFR so no MFC needed.
Bob, can the walk up feature be left on as a default every time you turn it on and off?
No, only the stick movements activate it.
You say in your video that you will send a hard copy of haw to set up a transmitter ? watched your video, but am still getting lost i have t/tow truck radio is Hitec/aurora 9 thanks in anticipation
Email me for a copy. My email in video description.
Hi Bob got a question will the Flysky FS-i6 transmitter work on this truck?
Yes, will work just fine.
How much should I spend on the controller that you're showing in this video to use on this truck

I have the Tamiya Breakdown truck my Radio is Hitec Aurora 9, how do I set my radio to the truck? I am a bit lost can you help
MFC-01 & 03 use the same radio programming. Watch this video to give you an idea: ua-cam.com/video/HVKR6K_q89k/v-deo.html
How can i get one

With 2.4ghz radios that is no longer the case. You can use any radio in any type of product and the radios do not interfere with each other.

I drill the tiny holes out.
Okay. I’m gonna have to sell a bunch of stuff on eBay in order to swing a deal for this. Wish me luck and maybe by Christmas I’ll have the money.
