The Bee Gees were so talented and this was truly one of my favorite songs from their blockbuster album Saturday Night Fever. Every artist whom they collaborated with on this classic album eventually produced a chart toppping hit!
They played this at my junior prom,I was wearing a baby blue tuxedo with a frilled shirt! MY God what a different world,I liked it so much better than all thats going on now.
have to agree with some of the responses below, this is a classic and i love it but guess what i was born in 1980....just adore great music is all... gotta luv the bee gees !!!!
ntástica canción, no sabía quién la interpretaba, qué hermosa voz e interpretación!!!!!!!! Australia tiene y ha tenido tantos artistas maravillosos, qué jóvenes que eramos, gracias
Oh, so this was the version I heard on the radio a few years back. Never thought it was a Bee Gee's composition though. The hosts were incomprehensible back then.
This great pop song fits perfectly in the Bee Gees catalogue. Thanks to songwrting, producing and singing skills of brother Barry. For almos three decades the Gibb Brothers have provided plenty of hummable songs for those who like good melodic pop. For those who prefer other sounds, you stil have AC/DC .
Finally someone has the full video of Samantha Sang singing Emotion. All the other videos of Samantha Sang singing Emotion were shorter than the full version. Thank you so much for uploading this video.
I know a Drag-Queen here in PDX who looks like Samantha Sang:Her name is Allie McQueen. At any rate, In 1978, I loved this tune; It was so hypnotic then, and is so hypnotic now. They'll never make music this good again. Pity!
Thanks for the post!!!! Great recording!!! Haven't heard this for years. Great to see this music coming back and being discovered by younger listeners. Thanks much!!!
I agree with what you say about todays music, 60's , 70's and even a lot of the 1980's are the be decades for great music, It started to decline by the start of the 1990's when rave and rap and it has got worse since the 2000's, some of todays singers I've not even heard of, it's my 13 year old daughter who ells me about things like ''One direction'', ''Pink'' Lady Gaga'' and out of all those I just mentioned I can only name one song I have heard, and that's 'poker face'. Who's Justin Bieber?
@TheMysteryMister your words are full of truth :D it's a shame nowadays we don't have that sensuality and voice to express our feelings... we only have to listen to Lady gaga and those "artists" with their bad stuff to understand our poor world
I like both the Samantha Sang (the original performed version) and the remake that Destiny's Child did around 2001, but this is just a bit of a strange video itself. That being said, it's a great song that has held up well over almost 4 decades now!
Since videos were uncommon in 78 and she was Australian, a lot of people in the US actually thought this was actually Barry Gibb with his voice sped up recording under a false name. Although this was quickly proven false the damage was done and poor Samantha was unable to follow up this hit in the US scoring only two minor followup hits, neither of which have no Bee Gees influence or sound anything like Emotion.
This song is my all time fav !!!! I play it over & over...the vid is soooo confusing because she lypsyncs her part as well as the BeeGees part...still a classic though !!!!!!
@razrramone Yup indeed it is...great music, great films, great fads, great clothes...then again...the 70s was also the decade when a 15-year civil war broke out in Lebanon, the Khmer Rouge in Cambodia, genocide in Bangladesh and Burundi, bread riots in Egypt that left 800 people dead, Soviet invasion of Afghanistan...so much of violence in other less fortunate parts of the world...the 70's is still a golden age for some though ...
@GiaJ1 GiaJ, check out "Fool (If You Think It's Over)" by Chris Rea- the original from 1978. Great arrangement, cool bass. Go for the version that shows his album cover. Few more good soft ones from that era: David Gates "Goodbye Girl" McCartney's "Listen To What The Man Said", Paul Davis "I Go Crazy" Rod Stewart "You're In My Heart" Great earlier stuff: Four Tops "I Just Can't Get You Out Of My Mind" Stevie Wonder "Golden Lady" "Don't You Worry 'bout A Thing" Raspberries "Go All The Way"
@darrinbak Not at all. There are many low voiced alto, and even deeper contalto singers. Ruth Pointer, Toni Braxton, Anita Baker just to name a few. You probably think it's weird, because you consider her "ugly," and so you think she is a man. Right? Right!?
Such a gorgeous ballad by Samantha Sang,& with the Bee Gees backing her up,this song soothes your soul like no other.
God I miss the 70s .. damn what a decade !!!
The Bee Gees were so talented and this was truly one of my favorite songs from their blockbuster album Saturday Night Fever. Every artist whom they collaborated with on this classic album eventually produced a chart toppping hit!
Por fin encontré la versión correcta de esta gran canción...y en su velocidad verdadera además...un gran clásico de clásicos...

They played this at my junior prom,I was wearing a baby blue tuxedo with a frilled shirt! MY God what a different world,I liked it so much better than all thats going on now.

I know a Drag-Queen here in PDX who looks like Samantha Sang:Her name is Allie McQueen. At any rate, In 1978, I loved this tune; It was so hypnotic then, and is so hypnotic now. They'll never make music this good again. Pity!

@1998nissanmaxima
"Emotion" was written and produced by the Bee Gees, who also provided backing vocals on the single, as can clearly be heard here.
gr8 audio!!
I agree, I always thought this was the Bee Gees till recently. Still a great song though.
I like both the Samantha Sang (the original performed version) and the remake that Destiny's Child did around 2001, but this is just a bit of a strange video itself. That being said, it's a great song that has held up well over almost 4 decades now!
Lass,mejores voces,bee gees y Samantha :)

BEST.
looks like a younger version of the mum in the seventies show, great song
Destiny child did a great job bringing this song back! With all of their unique voices and melody
I like it
she later went on to star as the mother in "that 70's show".
This song was better performed by a woman that by The Bee Gees. I'm glad that Samantha sang this song(pardon the pun).
te adoro samantha( i love samantha the best from all the girls)
Amor , esta cancioncitaaaaaaaa mmmm... like .
all you people pining away for the 70's...wouldn't last 5 minutes without your cell phones.
nice song remember
great song, and she was a good singer with a nice voice ..she looks high in this vid tho :D
If you listen closely to the chorus, you'll hear Samantha singing the "low" part.
THE WOMAN's KISS "SHINE IN THE LIP's"!!!
I think I hear Barry Gibb's falsetto voice in the chorus!
love the 80s
its from the 1970's not the 1980's the year of 1978
Eu eu gostando dessa música Minha favorita passa lá esse rádio aí
SOOOO TRUE
this SOUNDS like the bee gee's version put to the samantha sang video... That or I'm just going crazy. :)
The Bee Gees made the song with Samantha Sang.
That's why they are in choirs
Bravissima
I like
@vwilsonsdw00 Sorry I forgot that one...thanks for reminding...
@GiaJ1 GiaJ, check out "Fool (If You Think It's Over)" by Chris Rea- the original from 1978. Great arrangement, cool bass. Go for the version that shows his album cover.
