  • Get a VEKTA 5 - (amzn.to/2qH3A8d) WOO HOO! We are excited to to get the Vekta 5 out out for it's first rip! First we must complete a few final checks - and dial it in on the transmitter/radio setup. We also wanted to show how to mix oil and gas, for those who have never seen it before - or are unsure of the container/mix bottle we use. We also cover the type of 2-stroke motor oil we want for efficient gasoline burning and engine lubrication.
Tighten the wheel nuts? Check! Mixed Fuel? Check! Added thread-lock every where we can? YES! Time to start up the Bartolone Racing - Kraken Mod 32cc Gas powered engine - and let this truck roar for the first time! We are taking it easy in the first few minutes of start up (and off camera ran the truck around for 3/4 of a tank on slow throttle) to help break in the engine. Right from the beginning.. this engine wanted to rippppp across the grass - and it sure was hard to maintain the URGE TO BLAST IT WiDE OPEN.. haha! But, as we progress in the film.. you will see the engine really start to open up. I can hardly wait to get a few tanks of fuel through this engine - to really see what it can do!
We ran into a few minor problems with the truck - it seems as though some of the first trucks had some soft plastics - and heck, we even broke an A arm in the film with very little force - but like mentioned during the video - this kinda weight/speed hurdling around a track for the first time will certainly divulge any issues that may have been caused during assembly at the factory. Regardless - we will have a new set of arms on this rig very soon - and look forward to running this truck all season. I think I have a new favourite 1/5th scale Monster truck.. and its the Vekta 5! Haha :)
If you are interested in purchasing a Vekta 5, or some of the awesome upgrades you see in this film - we get most our 1/5 scale gear from Dave's Discount Motors (aka DDM Racing): www.DavesMotors... - including those nifty Hex bits for our drills. Daves has a huge inventory of RC parts that are hard to find, and everything you need for your RC tool box.
For more information on the ZENOAH G320RC 32.cc Bartolone Kraken Mod Engine for the VEKTA.5 : bit.ly/2nTsxZ1
A note from the Kraken site "The goal of this project is to optimize the overall power band while maintaining the same light weight of the stock motor. Coupled with Bartolone tuned pipe which we recommend for this motor, you will have a beast of a motor suitable to be called the KRAKEN MOD. Motor is plug and play for the VEKTA.5 and is the perfect companion for the LSE Kit or the ARTR non engine version."
Our friend Paul from "IMMERSiON DESiGN INC" was the designer and artist of my Vekta 5 Wrap. He did an excellent job on the colors and use of the brushed aluminum. The wrap is beautiful when paired with this Vekta 5 solid aluminum axles and the DDM wheels this entire rig really comes together. Visit Paul on his Facebook at: / immersionsign

here's a tip on how I get all my oil out. After you pour it in the jerry can, pour it back into the oil container and swish it around a little. Then pour it back into the jerry can.

I usually don't comment but as always your build vids especially this Kraken Build is by far the sweetest 5th scale I've ever seen!!!! love all your vids from open box to your how too and passion for this hobby. especially how you make this hobby so much fun for everyone. Your ability to make this hobby fun and inspiring to the kids with small low budget RC to something as big and expensive like 5th scale for people like my father who got me into the hobby. Again awesome build and looking forward for more to come.

@RCSparks Studio. A little helpful tip after you pour the oil in your gas container shake it up then pour some of your gas/oil mix into the mixing container and swish it around then pour that back into your gas container that way you get all the oil out of your mixing container

When I mix my oil and fuel I pour a good amount of gas from the can into the oil measuring cup to dilute and mix any left over oil, then that goes back into the mixed gas can. That way you get exactly what you measured out from the cup.

I'm happy to say you have been a very very valuable informational influence on the hobby of "rc" .
I'm have recently gotten back into it..this year and proud to say i have quite the collection so far..
    1. traxxas slash fox body.....vettara k-5 rtr....ecx barrage....with a custom 54 chevy body i painted for my girlfriend......a 1/18 4×4 slash......and most recently two trx4's one red one grey...the one is mine the grey one is her's....with many upgrades on the ecx..both slashes and my k-5 is finally riding on 2.2's
the trx4's are our main focus as im slowly getting the upgrades coming....
me and Jamie have pattern our rc adventures after you and jem's....with the trx4's...between the backwoods and our local parks it's been a blast...oh yeah i almost forgot two boats joined the team last week...traxxas blast and a 1/10 scale fishing boat...i had to try the hole rc fishing deal.....
I'm really in need of a couple of "crazy-joes" 1/10 scale trailers...any responses
    would be greatly appreciated.
two thumbs up to you my friend. keep up the excellent work..

if you poured a little bit of gas in the measuring cup and sloshed it around and poured it in the gas can to get all the oil out, the residual gas left in measuring cup will evaporate before its next use, leaving a empty clean measuring cup.

Amazing buggy. It looks like it handles the track well. Look forward to seeing it go on the track once broken in with some damp dirt on the track for traction!

Great show and what a beast (the Kraken). Love these first runs after watching it being build. Don't think I'll ever get something that size (no joke intended) so it's great fun watching it here. Good music choice (Epic for something Mepic) and nice slo mo. Love to watch the suspension at work. Thumbs up.

Had the same issues with my Vecta...both front shock seal caps backing out and leaking. Only solution was to Loctite them. Like the Wheels very slick!

Splash some gas into your mixing cup/ratio-rite to clean it out and get all of the oil into your mix gas can. Then stuff it with a rag to keep the dust out. brappppp
