Pittsburgh Thunderbirds Player Spotlight: Donald Robinson

Donald Robinson is a pseudo-rookie with the Pittsburgh Thunderbirds having been called-up during the 2019 AUDL season from the practice squad for a few games. Heading into 2020, Robisnon was looking to build upon his early experience and make a name for himself at the Pro level.

@@Pghthunderbirds does the talent get paid? Even if our cost of living and travel expenses are taken care of I'll be fine. I have a decent job that's stable already, but a little stipend would be nice in these trying times. I'm one of those guys that would rather earn my money. Also, can I wear a Gadsden Flag patch on my jersey if I make the cut? Personal reasons. If not, that's fine.

@@frankym69 Yes, players are paid per game and are not required to pay for travel expenses related to away games.

@@Pghthunderbirds most of my athletic background is from baseball. I was a catcher. How well do you think that would translate for a guy primarily used as a defensive specialist on the ultimate pitch?

@@frankym69 Our recommendation would be to study the game of Ultimate and work on your throws. If you're confident with your throwing skills with a person guarding you, the rest like athletic ability comes natural.
