The Gurnard fish with the wings is found in New Zealand. I'm fairly sure they don't live down at 200 meters they are normally a coastal fish in much shallower water.
Even though we were telling him that it was illegal to do so in Ontario, back in the day, our Asian co-worker would brag to us how he fishes by removing the old style round headlights out of his car, hook them up with lengths of wire to the 12 volt battery, and float them to attract fish up close to the dock. Once he got his catch, he'd put the headlights back in his car. Crazy!? 😕
I caught an alligator 🐊 in a fresh water pond at the old Ponderosa camp ground in North Myrtle Beach SC when I was 15 on Bacon. About 5 feet long. But the most bizarre catch Ive made was an Oscar in the Kanawha River in Charleston WV. Obviously it out grew it's tank and someone turned it lose . It hit a Berkley Power worm so hard, it was hooked through the top of it's head and it fought like hell. I released both of course.

Most of the unethical parts of this video are in third world countries that need food. In the United States we mostly catch and release anything special. I don't keep anything my family doesn't eat which isn't a lot. Like 5 fish a month.
